~*~The OFFICIAL 2014 Dates Thread - Come Join Us!~*~

I'm glad you all are so understanding. :grouphug: Life has just been crazy for me lately, and to be honest, the DIS is the last thing on my priority list some days. ::yes::

I will continue to update the planning portion of the thread with the crowd calendars, etc., but will no longer be adding to or updating the date lists. I may in fact have to get rid of them, depending on how much room I have remaining on the planning post.

I would enjoy both threads! Now if I could only find April 2014! So excited for this trip because we will be taking my older daughter and son in law, my 2 grand babies and my 2 young daughters! We will have a mix and fun for sure!

The April 2014 specific thread is listed in Post #3. :goodvibes

Can anyone help me find these? We are going 1/9/14-1/16/14. Thank you :)

Hi all! Just checking in real quick after 4 days of our 6 day current trip - we have had a wonderful time so far!
arrived at All Star Movies Sat. Night
Sun - MK - crowded but not unbearable. We walked on to many rides. CP for pre-park open breakfast (not impressed but worth getting in early) Had BOG ressie fairly early but we were also dealing with DS not feeling good and just after we ordered the drinks, I had to take him back to the hotel. DH decided if we didn't stay neither did he (I wanted him to have a daddy/daughter dinner at least) BUT management was great and squeezed us in the following day!
Mon - MK again, DS was starting to feel a bit better so had more fun - a.m. walked on many things again but by pm, it was SUPER busy. DD had BBB in early p.m. and Finally made it to BOG - absolutely amazing! Left for awhile then came back for fireworks. Crowd was insane!
Tues - HS. Had H&V breakfast - so much fun as the restaurant was practically empty. Had a great day - lower crowds. Got fastpass for TSM for evening so left for awhile then came back for that and to make character palooza (awesome!!). also saw Monster Univ. homecoming. Kids chose to stay there instead of watching fantasmic
Wed - today at Epcot in the pm/evening. again, low crowds. Walked right in to character spot at 3:00. DD and I did pick a pearl and each got a necklace. Ate dinner at Via Napoli and loved the pizza.
BTG were here strong when we first arrived. The one at our resort left today and at HS only sawa couple and 1 at Epcot today so that hasn't been bad at all.
one thing, it is very HOT! Not much different then I'm used to in Sept butstill hot! DD has been the star of the show everywhere! Normally we can't pull her away from characters but this year the characters are the ones not letting her go! (we went to walk away from Jasmine but she pulled DD back for more poses, vidia had a race with her, Tink took a lot of time with her as well and many more - - so much fun!!)
DD already talks about what we'll do next year so we may end up still going in 2014 depending on DH's new job. For a last minute surprise trip, it was been wonderful!

She will be in 1st grade. I know she probably won't miss much, but I have read some stories on here about parents getting letters saying social services would come out because kids had missed more than 2 or 3 days in a row.

My daughter was not given any grief either time. She missed 9 days in 2012 and then she missed 6 this past may. We got her work ahead of time and she had no problems! Her school allowed her to do a presentation when we got back about what she learned and she got the absence excused as educational!

Quick rundown of dining.. opinion?

2/3: arrival day, peco bills (tradition!)
2/4: Nine Dragons @ Epcot
2/5: 50's Primtime
2/6: BOG or Tony's
2/7: Teppan Edo
2/8: Chef's Du France
2/9: Crystal Palace Breakfast (hoping to get the Wish's party this night)
2/10: San Angel Inn
2/11: Tutto Italia
2/12: Mama Melrose Fantasmic Package
2/13: BOG or Tony's
2/14: Tokyo Dining

*Very* Epcot heavy on the food. We will be getting the Premier Pass (:thumbsup2) during this trip, so park hopping is no big deal.

IMO, Epcot has some of the best food! Chefs de France was great! We also love Tutto Italia!
We liked peco bills! And BOG for lunch. We haven't eaten at the rest. Can't wait for reviews

So glad to hear you are having a good time! :goodvibes Sorry to hear your DS was not feeling well at the beginning of the trip - hope he bounced back quickly!

Thanks! By yesterday he was back up to normal - although having a 3 year old with a lot of built up energy made for interesting times trying to eat and stand in lines!
Yesterday was Animal Kingdom which we didn't stay too long - crowded and hot! Planned on DTD but it rained and DD was really tired out so we just staying in for the p.m
Today was MK - DD enjoyed being a part of Storytime with Belle and I scared her to death in BTMR. We were there from open until about 2 when it started to get crazy busy again and then went back around 6 although didn't stay for fireworks or the parade - it was lightening and DH was complaining about dealing with crowds all week

All in all it was a wonderful trip! We'll head back to Ohio after DTD tomorrow a.m. I'm not sure if I"d want to come back in July again but it wasn't too bad. The only bad part was housekeeping accidentally took me favorite beach towel out with the laundry and by the time we go back in the afternoon, it was all sent out so I'll probably never see it again :furious: Housekeeping took the info and I also made a report with the front desk but I'm not hopeful :(
Other than that, it was been a very magical trip :thumbsup2

Sounds like you guys are having a great time!! I'm counting down the days to our trip in September. :)

We're planning on staying March 1-5 we have 3 adults and 6 kids in our group. I'm having a hard time picking which moderate resort to stay at. It's between PO riverside and Coronado. Any suggestions? I'm hoping disney will send me a pin code. Has anyone received one for 2014? We went last year at this same time and it was freezing cold! The highs were in the 50s. Hoping for warmer weather this time!

I have missed a lot! Was trying to read through all the pages I've missed but truthfully ended up "fast forwarding" :rotfl:

Life has been nuts around here...my laptop was acting up so it was out of commission for almost 2 weeks! We are scheduled to close on 8/14 so whatever free time I can find, I have been organizing which basically means I'm making piles of move, garbage, store and donate. Basement is 90% done....now need to work on rest of the house over the next couple of weeks.

DD2 has been enrolled in "baby school" (daycare). She seems excited but we shall see how it goes come September. Waiting for closing so I can have proof of residency to enroll DD5 in Kindergarten.

Work has been crazy and since I'm still only working 3 days a week, it gets hard to accomplish what a full-timer should be doing. Once I got back Mon-Fri in Sept hopefully things will settle down or at least I will have a better rhythm to get things done.

My birthday is tomorrow but have no plans. We won't be able to do anything as my DBF has a memorial service to attend for a fraternity brother's 8month old baby girl who was killed last week. Told him to give me 2 mornings off and we will call it a day. It's been a rough week with that news to say the least.

With all this craziness I haven't had much time to Dis or think about plans. Since I'm in the middle of my morning off though, I plan on catching up here and then head to store for some storage bins and continue the organizing.

Hope every one has a wonderful day!!

Wow what a crazy time! Good luck on closing, daycare, school :) also HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! That is so sad about the baby girl. Every parents nightmare...

Fingers crossed we'll be back in the world the first or second week in Dec next year! It will be DS's first trip:cool1:. My parents are planning on joining us along with my BFF and her family. That makes 6 adults and 3 kiddos.

Planing on staying at POR, my parents want to camp which will all but force us to go and see everyone's decorations. I am a window decorator, it enhances my joy:banana::banana: so there is that too

I want to make the trip magical for everyone but not drive myself nuts in the process. It's a fine line that's for sure:lmao:

Okay we are switching to November 2014 not 100% on dates but looking at the week before Thanksgiving, sooooo excited! Now to change my ticker! :goodvibes

And it starts....... I changed from CBR to WL on Monday. Ran the numbers with the predicted discounts and thought, hmm that could work. Now today I am thinking, do I really want to spend that much money?? So I start investigating offsite. Found one in WH, emailed and got a quick response and quote-about 1/3 of CBR room only. In 2011, we used my mom's timeshare for $99. Cant get that price for this trip because of the way dates fall, so it was dismissed early on. Then realized today, we can just pay her fee for next year and get the condo for half of the WH cost. Holy crap. I give all this info to DH and discuss the perks to onsite. The only sticking point is evening EMH. Apparently he really liked being in the parks late last year. So now I REALLY need those Feb hours to see if rumors are true. Still a little concerned that FP+ will end up benefiting resort guests more than offsite. But I could keep the Disney reservation for a while until more info comes out. Just thought of that. And dont get me started on deciding on ADRs!! Lol. Next Sunday is my date for that. This will be an interesting week. :rotfl:

Have you had much rain while you've been there? I noticed on the local radar the other day they were showing rain, rain, rain for Orlando.

Bummer about your beach towel. :( Hopefully they can locate it and get it back to you.

Hope you have a safe trip home! :goodvibes

Hey you! It does sound like things have been crazy for you. ::yes::

Happy Birthday a little early! :flower3:

How awful about the baby. :sad1: I can't imagine what that family is going through.
