No, you have to be staying at a Walt Disney World hotel with a ticket package. I think the other poster is referring to renting a house for their upcoming trip and the DDP was used on a previous trip.

Well my family the 4 of us have finally decided on dates May 3-11, Awesome!!
I have been pondering this for some time now, I know most people book on the Disney website and their vacation is paid there now here's what I'm thinking of, when I checked prices on Orbitz, Expedia, Hotels, AAA, etc the prices for the resorts are cheaper and if we pick AoA those prices will be wonderful. Now here is what I'm worried about let's use Orbitz for example-
1) Will we still receive benefits if we book through a different website
2) Will we still get the room we desire or will we end up being pushed over if a family from the Disney website purchased the room and they have no more room
3) Is it worth doing it from another website? I mean this is what I got-
Disney AoA Suite- Tickets + Resort Rooms= $4,651 if we add Dining=$6,528
Orbitz AoA Suite- Resort Rooms + Disney Tickets=$4,089

Were paying OOP (or do you recommend the Dining Plan?) and have a budget of $5,000 so..yeah however the CS resort is only $3,675, but why is there always a but , this is our first trip plus were celebrating my mom's 40th and mother's day. We also have POR, ASM, and CBR to look at AoA is just an example.
Any help and advice will be so greatly appreciated!!!! Thank you to all who reply!

Have only booked through Disney site so do not have any insight into your booking questions. However - I am also curious to learn the answer.

As for the Dining Plan - there is a site that will allow you to figure out if it is worth the cost for you. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2957235

For us the dining plan is worth it - we have two granddaughters and tend to go to a lot of character meals so we end up saving using the DP. I think if we did not do all of these character meals that we would not go with the DP.

Do you mean your budget is $5000 for EVERYTHING or just for room + tickets?? Because with either of your AoA options above, you're probably going to go over budget for 9 days of OOP meals for 4 people (depending on ages and appetites of course) Also, I would suggest fully pricing out all your other resort possibilities to save money, since there's only 4 of you and you don't necessarily need the extra space of a suite at AoA.

I have a question, and any help is greatly appriciated..

We are planning on two trips to WDW in 2014, Feb and Nov. We live in SoCal and have the premium AP's to DLR. Looking at the cost of tickets, it makes sense for us to upgraded to the Premier Pass when we go to WDW in Feb, so that we dont have to pay for tickets for the Nov trip. The difference is only about $300 for our DAP to bump up to the Premier.

I know with the Premier, we get discount on food. I think with the Premier we can also sign up for TIW. If we go that route, does it save more money than doing a dining plan? Normally, I only do the DP, as it makes sure that the trip is pretty much all paid for prior to going. The easier to budget the better.

I am just at a loss with this...

I am a huge fan of easywdw. I like that he gives clear reasons for why parks are recommended or not. Even with his crowd calendar, rope drop is still the best time to get the big rides done. On the site there are also cheat sheets for each park if you want to see which rides should be done first.

Hooray for 2014! Can't come fast enough! We'll be going in October 2014. Dates TBD and resort TBD, but really looking forward to working with David's Vacation Club Rentals. Hoping for a studio at BWV with a Boardwalk view or BCV (both to be near Epcot). If not possible, then perhaps AKV with a Savannah view. I'm not much more than a full day at AK person, but it'd be cool to wake up every morning to a giraffe if I can't be near Epcot (which I really want to be for the F&W festival). Maybe BLT since it's on the monorail... so many choices and all seem awesome!

Just to let you know: I'm in Canada and booked with CAA. They automatically have a certain % (for example we got 15% off POR in october) discount on the room portion that is applied to your booking. However IF a better deal say free dining or 20% off room becomes available, our agent will switch to the better deal.

Dittz- That's the thing I don't know if an agent is worth it? It seems I should that booking from another site would be worth it to save the extra bucks.

11point5- Yes $5000 for everything, we may do $5500. Trust me having myself, my teen sister, plus my mom and dad = room! I have never stayed at a resort before but I always know whenever the three of us use the space we need it. We plan on spending $80 a day and we don't eat much.

middlesista- Yes, I have used that and were still iffy on using it cause we would still pay OOP in the end. We have 5 character meals but I don't think that'll hurt us too much.

Well my question still remains unanswered about the booking though Dittz you clarified some of it I still wish to know more. Thank you to the three of you though!!!

I don't know what the better deal is. One thing to consider, if there is a room only discount, will it make it cheaper than the orbitz deal? My guess would be a 15% discount for AoA - I would price out the room only from WDW, subtract the discount and add the dining plan, and tickets and see what that number is.

Thanks, I think we'll give him a try. Actually, I'll follow it and lead my family/hubby along because if they know they're following a "schedule" they'll rebel When it goes well, they'll just think I had great ideas!
