~*~The OFFICIAL 2014 Dates Thread - Come Join Us!~*~

I'm just trying to decide if I add a day on to our vacation next year either at the beginning or end. Ahh. Two weeks until we can book. **excited**

I'm ready! Lol we have our air tickets booked and the time off work DH just wants to wait till packages cons.out to book the rest

Thats us as well! :lmao:

DBF and I are off next week, as I have family in town. I think I am going to make him sit down at the computer with me one day and explore the world of WDW Menu's!

We decided that with almost 11 full days, we are planning a day in the middle to just do nothing. I am hoping the weather is nice enough (never know in Feb), that we can maybe have a pool day. Maybe check out one of the mini golf courses. Have a nice dinner at a resort, and all that type of stuff.

I am already bursting with excitement, can't imagine how I will drive DBF crazy once we can book and make the ADR's.

Could you please add us to your 2014 list? Animal Kingdom Villas Jan 20-26 and Boardwalk villas Jan 26-30. I finally got to book the second part of our stay today and I'm so excited!:yay: This is our first stay at AKV and our first split stay. Anyone have any advice for the day you move during a split stay?
Could you also put us down for November 2014 TBD most likely offsite. Now I just need to find flights and think about the ADRs.

Thanks for me adding me to the list :)
We're down for Saratoga springs from the 27th of June till the 4th of July but today we added an extra night :cool1: So now we're staying at the Beach club resort on the night of the 4th of July so we leave on the 5th instead :wizard: Excited!!!!!!!!

Add us to the list of 2014ers! We're planning to go Nov 1-9 and hopefully stay at BCV or BWV....if not I will happily return to my "home", SSR :)

It was confirmed.....I chatted with a Disney CM online and 2014 Package prices will be released on July 10th. YAY!!:cool1::love:

I've only read the first few posts of this thread. I had some catching up to do! :)

But please add our family. Current plan is 10/4-10/11 for ILs 50th Anniversary. Probably ASMu family suite and additional room for ILs.

This will be our family's 2nd WDW trip and ILs 1st. We are all DLR veterans and their dream has always been to make it to WDW.

:welcome: to the group! I'll get you added to the list for October. Huge congrats to your in-laws on their 50th anniversary! pixiedust:

Everyone ready to book their packages? Next year's packages will be released on July 10th according to another website.

BTW, is Free Dinning offered in November?

If you check out Post #2 of this thread and scroll down, you'll see a link for Historical Discount Release Dates. Click on that link and you can see the promos that have been given for the past several years.

Of course, WDW can change the promos at any time (give or take away), but it should give you some idea of what has been offered before. :goodvibes

Hi! The Dis has been overwhelming to me lately...

So Bearcats, I changed my dates for January :D a week later. Jan 11-14 at VWL and the 14th-18th at BLT (still TPV!) Airfare was almost $100 cheaper per person!! How could I not!!

And details from my vacation to NC, it was wonderful. We were near the Camp Lejeune on the coast visiting family. I do plan on doing a mini TR when I figure out how to do it... I want to maintain their privacy so to speak..... However, the car ride down, we left at 3 am and got to their house at 6pm. It was long, but we really only hit traffic around Quantico, we flew right through DC!! We basically ate and relaxed and then had a nightmare getting my 4 year old to sleep.... :sad2: However, it was a learning experience and we know better for travel....

The first full day, we mostly relaxed, went to the park and let the kids run out the pent up energy. We also went to this amazing fro yo place called BrrBerry... And yes we watched Disney movies popcorn::

The following day, they treated my almost 4 year old to her first pony ride. She absolutely adored it!! It was a ton of fun, and got us out exploring... We also had local authentic BBQ.... OH MY GOSH.... I loved it!

We had a beach day, and it was hot, gorgeous and so much fun. My kids really enjoyed digging around in the sand, building sandcastles, collecting shells... The beach itself was beautiful too, it wasn't too far from their house either.

Our last day we went to Wilmington and visited the Aquarium at Fort Fisher - it was like $8 to get in, and it was AWESOME, and a great great value. We also ate at some place near the beach in Wilmington, it was pretty good... We got crab dip and I didn't want to share (but I did!!)

Then, we drove home, through some really bad thunderstorms... It took 18 hours. My kids were amazing little troopers (we rolled in close to 2am!!)

So I know you are interested in info because you have thoughts of moving there. We never made it into Raleigh, we were just took focused on hanging out with family and having fun. We spent a lot of time BBQing and watching the kids play in the kiddie pool. We stayed very close to the Marine Base so I know it is a little different than the rest of the state. I don't think I could live near the Marine Base, there is a lot of nothing (but still WAY more than I have in NH) but sometimes the training at night was unsettling (made the house shake!!)

We LOVED the Wilmington area, absolutely gorgeous, and the heat, wasn't bad. I would take the heat over the cold long winters of New England. The days I wore shorts and a tank, it was tolerable. It really didn't seem all that different from the NJ summer heat, it actually seemed less sweltering (maybe because NJ has so much pavement?) The area reminded me of a cross between the Jersey shore, and Florida (Sarasota area) I could see falling in love with Raleigh easily, being only a few hours from the beach, the mountains and having a city at my fingertips.... While I am glad my DH was promoted, I do want to move to NC now!!

Also, the people were wicked nice, like everywhere... I actually had someone help me in Walmart! Seriously, I don't think this has happened anywhere.... My one complaint with NC, coffee.... Not enough of it! :)

To those discussing summer :scared: I give you credit to handle the heat! Although I am going in September too.... So maybe I am just as crazy? However, I would look at crowd calendars for the summer and maybe consider as far into August as possible when people are ending vacations because the school year is starting....

Thank you for all the info - sounds like you had a great time! :woohoo: for your daughter's first pony ride - she must have been so excited! I've heard the BBQ is fantastic in NC. ::yes::

I'll get your dates changed. :goodvibes

We are going January 25-31, I think we changed our minds and staying at POP... it will depend on if Free Dining happens again.

DD is turning 5. We are going to surprise her with a b-day trip.

Going for our first WDW trip in oct. There are 6 of us my hubby, daughter, son in law, my two granddaughters and myself. My daughter has a couple friends and their family's going at the same time and we are all staying at POR. But we have royal rooms and the rest are in the reg rooms. The girls will be 4 and 8 when we go but we will celebrate their birthdays while we are at the world. Their birthdays are in November. Also celebrating our anniversary (oct 7th) a little late. lol My daughter and I have been reading boards and getting stuff together for a couple of months now....already so excited I can't stand it and not allowed to mention plans to hubby until we are ready to go. I grew up in Vegas been to Disneyland more times than I can count and took my kids there so gave the Disney bug to my daughter.:dance3::rotfl2:

My family and I are trying to decide if we want to stay at POR again next March....or......do we want to try AOA in a Cars family Suite. We love  POR, but think we may like having 2 bathrooms and 3 beds for everyone to spread out. PLEASE give me some advice.:crazy2:

The AOA suites are expensive! In March, you could easily be looking at over $400 a night, compared to just over $200 a night for POR.

If money isn't that much of a consideration, then go for the extra room. :)

Personally, I think the Fort Wilderness cabins are a better deal. The same price (give or take a few bucks) as the AOA suites, but you have a full kitchen, separate table and chairs for six, and a couch you can sit down on.

Once our family took over the table for sleeping and the couch for sleeping, there wouldn't be anywhere for my hubby and I to sit down on and watch TV except for the double bed in the AOA suite....or in those flimsy little pink plastic chairs. :crazy2:

About to start reading the entire thread but wanted to shout out that I am sooooo excited DH agreed to a 2014 trip probably October family of 6 looking at WBC so far!!! Last time it was October 2012AoA LK suite looooved it!:cool1:

Now DH might come with us instead of meeting us afterwards in Tampa. If he comes and we're 6 we'll be staying at a suite in All Star Music. If he comes and my niece does not we'll be at one of the monorail resorts without doing a split stay. Every time I think I have my mind made up someone flips the script on me. Can't even book airfare until I know the final roll call. :furious: I've given them a July 10th deadline or I'm going alone! :stir:

Going Jan 5-11 just DH and I. Staying at ASMo

Going back Nov 20-28 DH, DS(21), DD(14), DN(23), DN(16) and me. We will stay in a family suite at AoA :yay:

I'm glad it's not just me who has a family that's seemingly incapable of making a decision! LOL

Oldest son (19) doesn't want to go to Disney next year. He wants us to go to the beach in August and to invite his best friend along for the ride.

Hubby is definitely heading to Florida the 2nd weekend in May for his college reunion. He's not a Disney fan either, but is willing to add a few days to the end of his trip so we can go to Disney (our current plan).

Or I can pick another week in May and just go to Disney with our other three kids who ARE Disney nuts like me! We could then do 8 park days and live it up instead of settling for just a few days tacked on to the college reunion trip.

I'm hoping to know *something* by the time the 2014 packages come out on the 10th!

Being a Disney nut must go with the name, I'm a Kelly too. :goodvibes

Honestly I would go by myself with the kids if mine were old enough.

I would choose your last option. :goodvibes This way you get to enjoy your time with those who really want to be there. My DBF isn't a fan and when he took us last May, bless his heart, he REALLY tried but it was a TOUGH week. :lmao: This is one of the many reasons we skipped going this year so I could save up and go next summer alone with the girls.

Finally locked in 2014 dates/flights this morning! We will be there January 25th-31st, 2014 and staying at POFQ! Can't wait to start making dining reservations and for the packages to come out next month! Hopefully we'll get some sort of discount but our flights ended up being free so that was a huge help!
