How late in August can you go?

Here in Virginia, school doesn't start until after Labor Day so we could go to Disney the last week in August and the crowds are MUCH lighter because so many schools start in early to mid-August nowadays.

It's hot but you would have that to deal with anytime during the summer.

I can't help you with Summer dates as I've never been to WDW in the Summer. I'm sure someone who has will chime in soon with input and info.

Totally doing the happy dance today!

We decided to go with a Savannah view studio at AKV for the 2nd week of our vacation! I'm unbelievably excited.

4/30 - 5/7: Value Studio
5/7 - 5/14: Savannah View Studio

Just over 300 days! I'm not sure I can wait that long!!!

How far will you be driving? I like road trips. What kind of car did you get? We need details here!

It's just over 1000 miles from where I am in NJ. So if I'm adding things up correctly to the size of my gas tank, and average MPG, give or take a few, I should only need 4 tanks of gas, there and back again. I *really* loving planing ahead for things. This trip in 2014 can't come soon enough!

And as for the car, I picked up the 2013 Dodge Dart Rallye, with the 1.4l turbo, 6-speed manual, fully loaded. I just gotta teach DGF how drive a manual transmission before we go...

Now that it's a more reasonable hour, I can say more Didn't want to leave it last night or I'd lose the thread!

OK so we're in the UK. Two years ago we came in to a bit of unexpected money and made our 'once in a lifetime' trip to WDW.
Only of course on the plane home I was already saying we have to go back! (I sounded like Jack from Lost ). Now we have a new baby and I can't let him go without! But I'm on a time limit before my big children start hitting exams age - so 2014 looks like our year! I am saving like a complete obsessive.

We *must* catch Star Wars weekends - but here lies my problem. We also need to be back before May 28th. This is my baby's 2nd birthday and the point at which we will have to pay for his flight home (If I am correct? Please let me know if not!)
But of course I wont know about SWW dates for some time yet will I? Please help!

We went on May 10th last time and stayed for two weeks. We managed to catch both SWW and the tail end of the Epcot Flower show, which I wouldn't mind seeing again if possible. Star Wars takes priority though!

So it will definitely be May 2014 (I get shivers just typing that!), but not certain on dates.
Any thoughts on SWW for 2014 yet? I'm going to have a trawl through this thread as soon as family life allows...

Don't laugh, but I thought the POP food court was great. I wouldn't suggest making a special trip just to eat there, though! If you end up there to check out the resort though (which is pretty neat), don't hesitate to eat there. Everything we had was good.

In all of my resort searching and switching, the food court has been the biggest sticking point!! We loved Pop's food court and I dont want to be disappointed with a puny selection somewhere else! We might end up back at Pop and just beg for a king bed. I really need those packages to open up so I can book something!!! I know I could still call and change, but I would be embarrassed to do that too often.

Good luck with that! I never did learn to drive a manual transmission, despite my best efforts. Here's some pixiedust just in case you need it ...

Did you get a chance to go through the thread today at all?

I have no idea about paying for the baby's flight - I have no kids, so I'm no help whatsoever in that department.

SWW dates are typically released sometime in December. As far as specifically when in December, that's anyone's guess.

Love the "Lost" reference, by the way! That was one of my favorite shows of all time - I miss it a lot.

The waiting is the hardest part, no?

When we stayed at POP, we had a king bed, but it was in a HA room. I wished I'd have said no when they said, "Yes, we have a king room available, but only a HA one - will that be okay?"

The food court there is great. I thought the food at SSR was good, but the selection was so small compared to POP - I was so disappointed! And don't even get me started on what I thought of the food court at POFQ.
