WOOHOO!! Just booked our room!! My daughter and I will be staying at Art of Animation (Little Mermaid) for 13 BEAUTIFUL NIGHTS!!! Our dates are August 5-17, 2014. We've never been there in August, and hope our Northeastern blood can handle the heat! Don't care though, we are going to be in Disney!!

how did you book your trip already? I thought 2014 booking dates were not available til the summer? I can't wait to book my April 2014 trip!

If you call you can book your room, but you can't include tickets or dining until after those prices have been released. You can't book online till everything is available

don't I feel like Goofy... I just realized this thread is for 2014 we are going this year after a 2 and a half year break...you may remove my name....sorry.... but I will be back... we will have a couple short trips in 2014 and a week for the Food and Wine Fest

Woo hoo finally got ahold of next years school calendar and have found some time next spring between state testing, concerts, field trips etc.! We are going next May 4th-12th and staying again at POR! I would really like to try WL or the Poly this time but Dh wont go for it...that's OK after skipping a year, Ill take what I can get!

I'll get you added to the list for August. As far as being able to handle the heat, make sure you take plenty of breaks and drink lots and lots of water. Duck into a store here and there and soak up the air conditioning. Get to the park early and take a mid-day break if possible. You'll be fine!

We are planning on April 11, 2014- April 18, 2014 at either Poly or BCV - we have to go that week because of school break, but very nervous about pre-Easter crowds. Plus there are never specials available that week, so we will expect to pay 30% more... but we will be there regardless!

I'll get you added to the list for April. Once you decide on a resort, make sure you post and I'll get ya updated.

Check out my shiny new ticker!!!! We are now going Feb 22-March 1. I cut my countdown in half!! I know we will hit the end of the Pres Week crowd, but that day is my birthday!!!!!! I am so excited to be in Disney on my birthday. I am a huge fan of Josh at easywdw, but I think I am going to go against his calendar so I can eat in one of the castles on my birthday. I dont care if we do any rides that day, I just want a nice dinner and a picture of me in front of the castle and one with Mickey. I am a little nervous about South American tour groups, but we will deal with it. Still have no idea where we will be staying. My ideal would be CR for my birthday night and then WL or POFQ for the rest of the week. That is still TBD!!

That sounds great- I'm a firm believer that if you set your expectations accordingly no matter the crowds or groups a good time will be had!

Yeah the AoA two bathrooms is really nice and maybe useful for three ladies that take forever to get ready but don't we all!

I've read and have seen many reviews and pics, used firstdisneytrip.net or something like that, allears this site and many others but still can't decide.

Look at it this way two teens we obviously would go for the more adult themed CSR to find more teens but my sis really wants to do the animation classes that are offered at AoA. My parents don't really care but my mom is towards more with CSR. Then again it all falls under what our perspective is over these hotels.

Btw off topic would BOG or CRP be better for a birthday dinner??

Perhaps your sister would be happy taking the animation classes at Hollywood Studios then you could still stay at CSR

Anyways, to make a long post short, we're going mid October 2014!! Exact dates not set yet, but def October. There's a few of us going so we will be at a couple different resorts. I think myself and my boyfriend will be at Beach Club. We would like the Poly, but heard will be under DVC construction?

So excited to start pre-planning and just having the fun of the anticipation!

Hope to talk to you all more during this awesome time!!

I think the DVC/Poly is still in the rumor phase. I don't think we will hear anything until they have sold through a bit of the new grand Floridan villas (but I'm no expert!)
