My wife and I are taking 8 of our friends to Disney in 2014, soooo excited!

Not 100% sure about the date yet (I can't book my vacation time for 2014 until December), but we're reeeaaally hoping to go May 11-18

We're planning to stay at the AoA, 6 of us in a Cars Family Suite, and the other 4 in a Little Mermaid room

Anyone have any experience with Memorial Day crowds? Thinking of going down the Friday or Saturday before and staying through the week. If we have Saturday and Sunday in the parks, we can just plan a resort day on Memorial Day - we would probably be ready for a break By then anyway. My oldest gets out 2 days after the holiday, but I know they won't be doing anything academically in those days.

Memorial Day isn't a bad time to go. We went last year during that time and are going this year during the same time. Last year we went to HS on Memorial day and didn't think it was too overly crowded. This year we are planning to go to MK on Memorial day. I'm expecting big crowds but Touring Plan had it listed as a recommended park for that day so we'll see! Overall it was crowded, but managable. Weather last year was ok, rained almost 2 full days. So hoping for nicer weather this year. Also it's during SWW, so if your family is into Star Wars you might want to check that out.

If you want to get started with your planning now, you can actually call WDW and reserve the rooms you want. Then once the vacation deals come out, you can always upgrade and change what you need then!

Hello Everyone!!! So excited to finally be able to say we are going next year.

We will be there October 25 - November 2. We are staying at AoA in the Nemo section. I'm a single mom and this has been a long time coming. There are 5 of us - Me 39, DS 18, DD 17, DS 14, and DS6 (ages when we get there). My oldest DS will turn 19 right after we get home, and I have been trying to get us there since he was 10. I am so excited. And I have it so we can spend 9 days on vacation.

Looking forward to having a wonderful time!!!

I changed our dates from October to September. I am taking advantage of the Labor Day holiday so the kids won't have to miss but a couple days of school. We will check in on Saturday, August 30 and check out on Wednesday, Sept. 3rd. We have decided to book a family suite probably Nemo at AofA. I'm so excited but it seems so far away!

Thanks for posting your updated plans - I'll change the list. It may seem far away now but the time will pass by so quickly. It will be here before you know it!

It drives me crazy! I've planned so many fake vacations to WDW at this point, comparing what date vs what date, what hotel vs what hotel. And don't even get me started on Vegas. I think I've looked at a bazillion hotel websites and still can't figure out where to stay.

As someone already posted above, the dates for SWW have been released in December for the past two years. Historically it runs weekends from mid-May to mid-June, but of course it's always WDW's option to change those dates.

We'd love to have you as part of our group, so feel free to stay and continue posting! Once you get your dates figured out and where you're staying, just post and I can get you added to the list.

So DD1 turns 11 in August--the penultimate year for a HP fan like her! So I convinced my Grumpy that we should take her to the WWoHP for her birthday! Gets me out of planning this monstrous HP party that she wanted

So we will start our vacation off at Universal Studios on August 10th and move to POFQ or POR August 13th-20th! Still deciding on the resort, but so happy to be going back!!! So happy to be back on the DISboards looking for tips and information and getting more and more excited!!! Just hoping that our 1st 3 days live up to the magic of the last 7 days! It will be our first time at Universal, but our 3rd at WDW.

Soooo.....we might move our trip to Feb 2014!!!!!! I would love to knock almost 10 months off my countdown. Still trying to decide if we can give up the Christmas lights. I can, but DH isnt sure. We would then go in Dec 2015. Of course, I would be secretly hoping to book a bounceback for Dec 2014, but DH doesnt need to know that.
Also, I think we will do deluxe dining. Will still run the numbers, but DH agreed to do some TS breakfasts, even with characters. And I definitely want to do Hoop Dee Doo. DH wants Yak&Yeti and Tutto Italia for sure. I love that I am picking places to eat in 560 days.

You're picking places to eat in 560 days ... I've already been thinking about it for our trip in the Fall ... or whenever it is we end up going, since I can't seem to get a plan put together.
