~*~The OFFICIAL 2014 Dates Thread - Come Join Us!~*~

We have a problem. A big, big problem.

I ran out of things to plan.:rotfl2:

Seriously, I already know our exact dates (just waiting for DH to confirm that there won't be any work conflicts), I know which flights we're taking, resorts, ADRs I want..... I even made preliminary touring plans on the app while I was waiting at the dentist the other day. I have a list of clothes and other travel gadgets I want to make for the kids, I've already started on some of it. I have a rough list of what we would need for carry on and for park bags. I made a pro/con list of taking our current stroller vs. buying a cheap umbrella stroller. I don't know what to do with myself anymore.

Funny story though. We have a door frame in the house where we measure the kids. The other day I put a mark at 40", mainly so I could check progress easily without them knowing I was doing it. While we were eating dinner tonight my son asked why it said 40 and we started talking about things that were 40" high. I mentioned that you have to be 40" to ride the rides at Disney World. He asked if we were going to WDW, I told him we can't go yet because his sister isn't tall enough (she's 37.5" with shoes) and that she should really eat her vegetables so she can grow taller and we can go on vacation. In the blink of an eye the plate of eggplant parm I had been fighting with her over was gone. I don't even think she chewed. That stupid 40 on the wall is going to be my new best friend for the next 10 months, I can already tell.

I am the same way. I have started shopping for their "Mickey was here" gifts for the hotel. I have been scoping out the stores for clothes and shoes since the summer stuff is just coming out, even though we still have a couple of feet of snow. Come on baby melt. This momma is sick of the snow and wants summer to be here.

I measured our youngest with a sewing measuring tape a few weeks ago. He was very curious why I was measuring him. I told him we needed to see how tall he was to see if he could ride the bigger rides at ComoTown in St. Paul. Yep he just passes. :woohoo: So by trip time it will not be a problem.

Love your daughters reaction. I might need to try that with our son. He will sit at the table for hours and not eat a bite of veggies. He used to be an awesome veggie eater and now has acquired my stubbornness.

Isn't that the worst?! Some people would be relieved to have all their plans done but it makes me sad. I want to keep planning right up until the day we arrive! What else will I do to pass the time?!

For those of you who are planned out already, have you checked out the Creative DISigns board yet? :teeth: I'm warning you, it's a bit addictive ...

We are planning our second trip for spring 2014. Initially i was thinking we would go the last week of April, but knowing how late Easter is, I think we've decided on May5-15. We will be staying at POR. I can't wait until we can book the package and dining resevations!

I may steal this idea. I have already told DD5 we can go back when she is 6 and DD2 is 3. I could certainly tell her DD2 has to reach 40" because it's not like she will know the difference. :rotfl2:

Hi everyone! We are going Dec 1-8 to celebrate my 30th birthday! I have the same birthday as Walt Disney so I've always wanted to to to WDW for my birthday. We were going to go for my 25th, but I had just had my firstborn then. We will be taking our kids for their first trip!! They will be five and nearly three when we go. SO EXCITED!

Ok everyone, I have been thinking about our dates for 2014. Easter is on April 20th and I wonder if it means the first week of March will have low crowds since Spring Break is later. I also have thought about going the first week in May, but don't want to have to deal with too much heat or humidity. Our family went the first week in March 2012 and had great weather, but it started getting crowded near the end. My DH says he enjoyed going last March and I just want us to enjoy it next year as well. What is everyone's opinion on which week would be better? :rainbow:

Does Easter in the US affect spring break times??

You guys (especially the kids) are gonna love Disney at Christmas time. The decorations around the parks and at the resorts are amazing. Things like the Osbourne Lights, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (additional fee), Holidays Around the World at the World Showcase at EPCOT, and my personal favorite, the Candlelight Processional (don't know if your kids will enjoy it though). But I do think that the Holidays Around the World, will be a blast for the little ones. It is a very interactive show, between the crowd and the incarnations of different Winter celebrations from around the world. There are plent of youtubes of all of these events.
