~*~The OFFICIAL 2014 Dates Thread - Come Join Us!~*~

Are there specific areas at WL which are better than others? I'm guessing if we are able to stay here, we would do MK a little more (maybe not do AK this time around) and then want to be close to the pool. I think I need to checkout the WL thread and gather some info there also.

All the rooms are in one building - although it is very large and a bit confusing! I'm sure the WL thread would be very helpful.

Lots of action in the thread today - I love it!! I totally get the planning even though it does seem forever away!!

Here is our newest development...first I will backtrack and say we have been very fortunate to go the last 3 years Ina row; didn't plan for it to happen that way but I won't complain. Anyway, aft last years trip my DH said he wanted to wait 2 years the fore we went back - boo, but really, I get it and am happy we can go back in 2014. This Summer we are doing an Orlando vacation - SW/aquatica....whatever. We usually go to the beach, but due to the ages of our girls the beach is not fun. After pricing out a week on the gulf it was cheaper for us to go 6 nights in a condo in orlando WITH SW/a tix (and only about 2.5 hours farther). I'm a SAHM but have recently started working one day a week at my daughters preschool. Tonight we were discussing what o do with the extra income and I joked I would buy us a one day ticket for Disney during our vacation this summer - totally kidding bc DH has been adamant NO disney. Well, then he says, lets just make the whole trip an off site Disney trip - I know y'all all want to go and I don't want to be the reason we don't! I couldn't believe it!! It was really hard nit to go along but I told him no - I want to do something he wants too. So - we are going to chat some more...Disney, i guess, is not off the table, but I don't want to make DH feel like we have to go.

Sorry....that was a ramble!

No way! So is this good news, sort of good news, or fantastic news? :yay: I know you wanted to do some of the other stuff, too.

I love when this thread gets active, also. I expect it will only get moreso after the 2014 rates are released. :teeth:

Bearscatfan--I will do NO cooking on vacation...haha!! I like the idea of a full size fridge for drinks. We stayed in a "studio" at the Beach Club on our last visit and my oldest son was almost 2. The mini fridge was fine so I'm thinking it would be okay for us. I do like the idea of a washer/dryer with 2 little ones though!!

Hi everyone! I'm so happy to have found this thread! I am a big fan of the DisUnplugged live podcast and because of their recent coverage I've pretty much made up my mind to attend the Flower and Garden festival next year !! I always visit WDW in November or December for the Christmas decorations, weather and festivities but I really would love to see WDW during springtime as well :thumbsup2.

Regarding planning I will be visiting LA, CA for about a month this Oct. and because of their super dumb ticket options where you can only buy a 5 day hopper before you have to start over unless you buy an AP, and the new fact that I am dying to visit WDW for FG I am actually thinking of getting a Premier Pass!! :upsidedow Crazy right?

However if I figured correctly with needing a 10 day MMW hopper @399 USD for FG and at min. a 5 day hopper @290 plus tax USD for DL the difference in ticket prices is 160 dollars, plus I want to visit DL more than 5 days in a 2 week period if I'm there for a month and I think I can make back some of the 160 in discounts. Hopefully right? Not to mention I hope to squeeze in one last trip before it expires.

What I can see, the only problem is tickets are going up soon and I mean, can they raise the price of the Premier pass to more than it already is? Eegads i hope not because it looks like you can't buy it in advance, you have to buy it at the gate.
Oh well here's hoping and on with the planning :thumbsup2!

I've been away for what seems like forever, but we are now back from a wonderful Spring Break cruise on the Fantasy! :goodvibes We had a great time, but now I must get back into planning our first trip to WDW. When last I posted, we were planning on a split stay end of May/beginning of June for the Poly/AKL. Well, things have changed for the better I think. While on the cruise I took the plunge and joined DVC! So AKL is a definite, but now I'm not sure I still want Poly for the other half of our split stay. I'm actually starting to look at BLT for the first few days. Back and forth and back again .... decisions, decisions, decisions. Luckily these are the kinds of decisions I enjoy making! :rotfl2: And I've got time. My DD is excited, even with it being more than a year away.

How exciting! Congratulations on your DVC purchase! pixiedust: How did your cruise go? We need details. ::yes::

I'll leave you on the list under the old stuff for now. Once you've figured out your dates/resort, just post and I'll get ya updated. ;)

We are going on our first family vacation ever! I am sick of the snow to say the least of it. Snow is supposed to be here in Oct/November and be gone or at least melting by mid March. lol

So anyways, we are going Feb 20-27th. I have researched and did more research. I have spreadsheets galore.

We are going to surprise the boys. They have been talking about going to Disney and Legoland for what seems like years. There really isn't a day that they do not talk about on or the other. Hubster thinks that we should wait till they figure it out at the airport. I am like "are you nuts?" Have me keep my mouth shut for that long?

So how do you plan? I have pinned so much on pinterest. googled. Window shopped for things that we will "need". Made lists upon lists.

Will go back and read everyone elses posts. Hey can someone tell me how to start a new thread or is that not doable.

Interesting...how old are your kids? Have you been to SW before?

Thats not crazy. It is Disney math at its finest!! :thumbsup2

Awesome!! Congrats on DVC!! I agree with Bearcatsfan. We need cruise details. Something tropical on this ridiculously cold first day of spring. :sad2:

You will be there on my birthday. :goodvibes.
How exciting! First vacation AND a surprise!! :woohoo: I seem to plan and then change my mind a thousand times. Where are you staying?

My thoughts exactly! It was so cold today! I'm ready for the real Spring to arrive already. I'm tired of being cold.

Hello, and :welcome: to the group! First family vacation AND it's a surprise? How exciting! pixiedust: Where are you staying?

How do I plan? :scratchin Well, I scribble lots of notes on binder paper and then type them out later when/if I can make sense of them. Lots and lots of lists.

How to start a new thread? Just click on the button that says "New Thread" in whatever board you're on. ;)

I'll get you added to the list for now resortless, but make sure you post where you're staying so I can update it.

I guess it is time for me to join! We are planning a trip to celebrate our 10 anniversary that is happening this year but our youngest will only be 1 and we wanted to wait until he was 2+! My oldest will be 4! I am ecstatic!! We are planning for 10 days! Out travel dates are 9/17-9/27. We are planning to fly out 9/17 in the evening. Our hotel will be Animal Kingdom Kidani Village. We want to take our moms with us....waiting to hear from them.

Question...we were going to book a 2 bedroom dedicated savannah view room. We priced it out using this years price and found getting 2 studio savannah rooms is 2000 dollars cheaper! While it would be nice to have the extra room, full kitchen, washer/dryer is it really worth it?! We will have 2 and 4 year old with us...so we will be up early and hit the pool in the afternoon. So many choices!!!

What about renting points? The nice thing is the space to be able to "hang out" while the kiddos napped...

My thoughts exactly! It was so cold today! I'm ready for the real Spring to arrive already. I'm tired of being cold.

Cold and snowy here... Like 8-9"....I feel like Mother Nature doesn't like us!!! I need to go somewhere warm ASAP!! However I've been planning out June vacation to NC....

Warm beaches soon please!!

Exactly! I made how many changes in 6 months last year? Now I have triple that time. :scared1: Let me apologize now for the ridiculousness I will drag all of you into.

Hehe should we warn Bearcatsfan to not change the first page until you are just a week or two out? :duck:

;)

I started planning at 9 months out last year and managed with changing resorts once (lucked out on getting free dining with AoA the week they opened!)
Although this time could be different too - still can't settle on an exact time yet - thought I had it set for Nov 2014 but DH talks about getting back sooner! (I have Disneyafied him as I say!)

I did wear out Tofubeast's backspace!! :rotfl2:

So THAT's how she got the carpal tunnel. I knew there was a reason. Watch out Bearcat. Make sure you keep an ergo regimen.

 Thanks for the warning! Although considering I have changed resorts and plans half a dozen times already, I can't really say anything to anyone else! ;)
