recieved a fax saying "$99pp for 5 days and 4 nights in orland w/2 tickets to Disney, plus 4 day and 3night bahama cruise meals included"

Are these faxes for real? What is the deal? :confused3

yes they are for real, but generally they are teaser rates. you call up, they give you very specific dates that that rate applies to and there are usually hidden costs. most important note.....just about every one of these things is for a timeshare demo place. you have to sit through a presentation. get the specifics if you are interested.

found one place where you were required to sit thru a 2 hour presentation and the entire family had to be there.

not for me, but perhaps for some, this is worth getting a vacation out of it.

There seems to always be some scam attached to these things. Read the fine print...if it's even legible after being faxed. I always just throw these things away.

We just did one of these in Jan. For $99 we got the hotel for 2 nights, 2 adult one day park tickets and breakfast each morning. We had a 90 minute presentation of the Calypso Cay resort. Well, turned into a 2 hour presentation. Would have been longer, but kids were getting antsy - thank goodness. We also acted like we liked the place so that didn't work in our favor.

Overall, the hotel was nice, breakfast was very good. The one day in the parks was enough for us (we had to purchase another child's ticket for DS as they only gave us 2 adult tickets). We had just come off the cruise and decided we couldn't be in Orlando and not do MK one day.

I would do it again but with some guidelines. DON"T act like you like the place, even if you do. DON"T bring your checkbook (they will let you buy into the place for as little as $40 that day and you may be tempted).

It's really up to you if it is worth the trouble for a cheap, short vacation. BUT, they really don't tell you that the tickets are not for 3 days, but for 1 only and just 1 park, not hoppers.

Good luck!

Thanks for the input...it did NOT specify the day length for the two tickets!! Also, it does NOT include airfare for any of the trips!!!

I don't think it is for us, I really wanted to know if they were legitimate.

Thanks Everyone!!!

Note that $40 a day is $280 a week, $1,200 a month and $14,600 per year :flower:

What I posted was you could hold your spot for $40 THAT day, not A day. LOL. :sunny: That would be a ton of $$.

I just don't see the value in timeshares anyway. You still have to fly/drive and pay for park tickets and meals, etc. Not for me, but you can get some good deals if you are willing to sit through a presentation.

My sister received a fax like that and it was a nightmare. The cost was $300 and that was sent in but never heard from the company again. Never answered her calls or anything. It may work for some, but not for others.

that if it is too good to be true, it probably isn't good.

Thanks :flower:
