The oddest stuff I sold :)

One of the oddest things I've sold was a $20.00 Applebee's gift card for $20.00 + shipping (actual). Evidently... people recieve ebay gift cards that they turn in for other gift cards? I had no idea, just knew we would never use it and NEVER thought I'd recoup the actual value.

As a long time ebayer and craigslister, when I tell you I have NOTHING left to sell believe me. My house is clutter free and I feel like I live in a magazine (lots of hard work on my part to keep it that way but I am OCD on clutter!!!!). Even my basement has nothing in it that I don't use on a yearly basis.

However whenever I decide I wanted to do something splurge, I make DD help me. My latest is I want a built in for my dining room. Got a quote from a carpenter and decided I must raise 600.00 in odd money to help fund it. Why I pick 600 I don't know.

Now remember there is nothing here to sell!! SOOO we got crazy with what we would sell. We weeded thru our cosmetics, hair stuff, etc. Had new samples of WEN, etc. Honestly just sample stuff that I may have pitched netted us 50.00. Samples? Really. Ok. USED CALANDARS from Chik Filet. We buy them for the coupon card and normally just pitch them. HAd 10 of them ready to pitch. DD sells them for 30.00 on ebay.

we then hit the coat closet and discover coats she bought last season b/c they were a STEAL she wasn't as nuts about now. Tags on etc. Return.

We did this entire process for a week and raised 617.00. Some books we sold to Amazon, some video games we sold to amazon. I even consigned and sold some jewelry that I liked but did NOT love..ANYTHING unworn and new needed to be explained or it was being sold/returned.

It is amazing. Honest if you think you have NOTHING left to sell -- you are wrong. Oh and I did participate in a focus group for an hour for 75.00 so that went towards my goal as well.

Now I upped it to 1k....but how I will do that I don't know...Seriously there is NOTHING LEFT!!!! But give me ideas if you have any...I have a goal to meet again!

I am nothing short of amazed and impressed here! Man....that really is something! It gives me more motivation too.

Good thought but DD goes to private school, no state funding, so I would feel guilty!!! On the up swing I sold a few used stuffed animals last night on ebay for 45.00. It all adds up!!! tomorrow is no doubt a snow day so DD and I will make one last sweep. DH is afraid at this point.....

Someone just emailed me from craigs list listing. I had some older country style valances listed...think they just sold. Also determined I have a few too many pots and pans...I am going off the deep end over here...

I am so envious now. We moved and there is no ebay or craigslist. There is a listing site but money is so tight that not much sells here. I did sell a set of chairs and now trying to sell a tanning canopy for $10. I swear I can't even get a bid.

I will keep trying as this thread gives me hope.
