The numbers and letters at the top of my screen are taking over!

When I click onto a thread, there's about 3 inches of symbols, letters and numbers!

When will it stop!

Wow, at least I'm not the only one. Do you ever hit the back button and end up with a page full of programming (I think) rather than what was there before? And I'm still getting the 1> and blank pages too.
