The November 2015 Open Pre and Live Trip Reports

Just wanted to say that the DW and I made it home about 3:00 am this morning. We were going to break the trip into 2 days but decided last minute to drive straight through. All was well until we were on I 64 at Huntington WVA and we had a blowout. This is about 15 miles from home. The good Lord was looking out for us as I was 100 yards from the exit that had a Superamerica with a large parking lot where I could change the tire. Other than that......all went well. Kinda bittersweet, good to be home and see family after 18 days but as we all know......now comes as Bama Ed says "The vacation hangover" I had a great time sharing pictures with everyone and the DW and I hope that all who are there now and coming into the Fort soon have a great and safe trip.

Glad you made it home safely. Glad to hear your blowout was a non-event (no crash). Just got this months Trailer Life and it is all about tires and maintenance. Enjoyed the pictures and will wave as we head past in Feb.

We headed to typhoon lagoon today. It took some time to get there as a bus was leaving as we pulled into the cart parking. The next one didn't come for over 30 minutes. But it was worth the trip as there was no waiting for any slide. Kids had a blast. Then it was trails to go for dinner, campfire sing a long, and fireworks at the beach. The guy singing tonight is from our neck of the woods. Small world!

So Sunday night I did not sleep well from the fall. I was quite tired on Monday and Bert had to take a call at 2 pm. We went and walked dogs at noon. That was difficult for the most part mal was a pain doing her own thing while i tried not to scream when she woulld dart. They went for a nice long walk. The one bad thing for us at 900, getting all the way to 500 loop. That is a long walk for the dogs. They were good and tired when we got back. The best surprise though was that Bert's meeting was canceled. That meant we could go to Epcot and use our Soarin FP. Then we met up with our friend from Canada who is here this week. We did the last few things i wanted to try at F&W. Headed home about 6. Fed dogs and then to our favorite Territory Lounge. Got home and went to bed.

The good thing i slept last night. I did not wake until 6:45 and managed to fall back to sleep for anothr hour. I needed that. I still slept on my back with 4 pillows propping me up. Got out of bed this morning. Don't get me wrong still hurts like ***** but i think it is better than yesterday. I still decided not to run today, even i am capable of smart decisions sometimes. We were supposed to go to DHS today but my FP were for TTM, Star tours, and TOT. I don't think any of that wlll work. Plus i have to take a call from 10 to 12 today. Changed up to MK. WIll do HM, PoTC, and Jingle Cruise. Hm...if i have a call at 10 i need to get the dogs walking soon. DInner tonight is at Morimoto Asia. Am sure Disney Springs will be crazy tonight, but excited to try the new place. Tonight DHS is closing early for a CM Party and MK has a MVMCP tonight. Only thing to do late is Epcot or Disney Springs.

Our dogs also were always getting tangles, so we went to a home made enclosure, works much better.

While I slept on Monday night the Christmas elves came out to start decorating the fort. We saw this on our morning, well afternoon walk.

i was supposed to have a call today but it was moved to Thursday. We took the dogs for a walk then went to MK. This was a change in plans do to the rib cage. Did POTC, Jingle Cruise, and HM. Yeah i am changing my FP tomorrow for Space Mountain, No way. POTC with the rumbles to get the boats in was enough. Am feeling a little better but no way i can do something jerky at all. I am still hoping to run saturday. Need to redo some FP. We went to dinner at Morimoto's Asia. OMG it was awesome, In Sep we ate at Boathouse. If i have to chose Morimoto's all the way. I went to the CO OP and bought a new purse. Yay me and sake for DH so he did not care. We stopped and listened to the live bands they were great. Honestly once construction is done it will be a great place to go. Still hoping to get to Jock Lindsy's Hanger bar still.

I thought the decorations were new tonight. I asked the family if those decorations were there yesterday. DH said yes, DD said no. Lol

G719, definitely new as of today. Not there yesterday. The tree is not up yet and no Christmas music at the fort but I expect that tomorrow.

Yes yeti is always wrapped around trees. We don't have to hook mal up to anything so that is nice. My big problem right now is all the twigs in yeti's tail. It's horrible, may have to get the scissors out for him.

It hasn't been very crowded at all the whole time. It's 87 degrees out and the pool feels nice. Guess everyone is out at the parks. We did AK for EMH. We rode primeval whirl 2x, everest, Kali rapids 2x, ate at tusker, met dug and russel, and back to the Fort by noon.

@garneska so sorry you got hurt. Glad you were able to get your fast passes changed and the dogs look to be nice and settled in. Do they behave the same at home verse the fort?

@G719 thanks for sharing pics of the Xmas decor. Your AK day sounds like my kind of day! Hit the park early and relax pool side by midday. Glad your having good weather.

After the pool, we headed to the cabin but housekeeping was there so we drove around in the cart for awhile. We went down to the settlement and there was a firetruck and ambulance parked down there and some emergency personel standing around. We weren't sure what was going on then but then we read about the monorail incident. They must have been there in case they were needed. We headed out to dinner and MK about 5. We went to the lodge and ate at their quick serve and then to MK. We had a fp for buzz 6:35 to 7:35. We were headed through the main street bypass at 735. We were a few minutes late but mickey still lit green. We had a fp for the fireworks but the kids wanted to do rides and not watch the fireworks. Then we had fp for the minetrain. We left around 11 and made it back to the cabin about 12. It seemed like they weren't running as many boats for the fort and the lodge. Maybe they moved them to make up for the monorail being down. The MK boat was going to the Fort and the lodge on the same trip. It's supposed to rain tomorrow and we have Christmas party tickets. Hope it holds off.
