The not so obvious tips

OMG! corpsebride just reminded me of one of my must haves! hand lotion, my hands become so dry, it is horrible. My most favorite is Avo Juice Skin Quenchers, it does not sting at all, and does a wonderful job of moisturizing your skin, it comes in different scents, I especially like Cran & Berry Juicie, and the Coconut scent. The brand is made by O*P*I, which also makes user friendly nail polish, thats comes in many different shades. The product comes in different sizes, from travel size to huge! :)

This may just be a personal preference, but pack some floss. I cannot STAND to have food in my teeth the entire day - it drives me nuts! Sorry, was that TMI? :D

No, this is a great tip!

I love this thread...lots of stuff I never thought of. I really like the tip about putting sunscreen on in line instead of doing it in the room.:)

Coolest thing today. I was at my dentist's office and they had travel sized dental floss in a candy dish as you walk out. Just like mints at a restaurant. Snagged a couple. Perfect for my purse/disney bag!!!

Also, don't forget some type of air freshener for the hotel bathroom if you are staying overnight!!!

Just a quick FYI, DL does have OTC meds available in first aid. I was able to grab some Pepto there this last weekend, it helped a lot.....LOL And I've been able to get Tylenol/Advil too. Oh and they have bandaids there too, I don't take stuff like that unless it's something I always carry anyway. :)

But the comment about doing stuff in line - I plan to have the kids eat their breakfast while standing in line, waiting for gates to open. 1) It saves us time, and 2) it gives them something to do instead of whining "WHEN can we go in???" :thumbsup2

And it's something I should be doing as well...

If you have new shoes that you're planning to bring, start breaking them in NOW! :thumbsup2

A roll of toilet paper has many uses beyond wiping noses and you never know what accidents you might have. Whit that said, if no one else has mentioned it, bring a roll of masking tape (easy to tear, great for labeling, and works as well as other types of tape).

I carry a travel roll. It's called Charmin to go. WE LOVE IT!!!! It's not real big and if you use it all, you can roll some up at the hotel to refill the container.

Also, we take a large ziploc to put our cameras and phones in when we are on Splash Mountain and Grizzly River Rapids.

Go by the $ store and buy the glow necklaces and bracelets. When the sun goes down, out comes all of the new light up merchandise that intices all the kids. This will save you lots of $$$$$

Use the free lockers for Grizzly! You can use them for about 2 hours (if you come back after the time your receipt tells you, you will be paying to open the locker) for free, it's secure (combination lock with the code computerized for each guest), and it is SO convenient!

Exactly, that is what I do too. Otherwise, no telling how your feet might feel. :scared1:
One day last year, I was wearing a favorite pair of shoes of mine, totally broken in, but by the end of the evening, my feet were just killing me, so I ended up taking them off, and walking down main street of Disneyland, all the way to the shuttle, :lmao: curious thing is, no one seemed to notice that I was not wearing my shoes! but then we are near LA and you can get away with alot there, right? ;)

Most everyone has listed all my stuff, except antibacterial hand wipes (I buy a box of travel size ones...) and travel size Lysol spray--which I hit the remote, phone, doorknobs, toilet seat & handle and faucet handles in our hotel room (I do this when we first walk in, and then just the faucets and toilet area each night after housekeeping comes...) You know the tv remote in your hotel room is dirtier than the toilet right??

(can you tell I am a bit of a germaphobe?? )

Totally good ideas! those are things that I like to do too.

My list is:

lip balm, travel size mouthwash, small tubes of toothpaste, Kleenex, moist towelettes,q-tips (don't want dirty ears after all ;) ) little powdered packages for flavoring water, I reuse my plastic water bottle, until it is time to recycle it, phone charger, sunglasses, toothpicks, travel size sewing kit, bandages, first aid ointment, such as neosporin, anti-itch creams, (in case you are snacked upon by an insect, etc.) aspirin, sunscreen, those bath poofy puffs, and then there are all of my hair accessories, which is a whole nother topic ;)
pretty much every thing that I like to collect is in a most convenient travel size form.
My toiletries are regular size, with exception of the mouth rinse.
and I too, have been storing them away in a plastic container, I like the clear type, that way it is very easy to see how your collection is coming. :)
What I am still looking for are those little plastic cups that are collapsible. They are a perfect travel size, and fit so nicely into your purse, or bag.
I just cannot seem to find them, so far.

I have been looking and can't find the little travel cups either! I found some on line at a camping type store but they were expensive.

I did not know they had free lockers at Grizzly! Where are they?

Yep....munching on mcbreakfast sandwiches or bagels while waiting for the gates to open is a hound family tradition. Also a good time to get that CALIFORNIA (choose a letter) picture. :hippie:

When you are standing at the FP machine......look at the little covered area to the left (it's just across the little path that leads to the bridge where people stand & watch the geyser).

Look in the pharmacy section of any grocery store/walmart etc. It should be near or in the stand that carries the travel supplies i.e. pill carriers (by the day/week)

Where do you buy this lotion at? Sounds worth a try!

I ALWAYS have to put lotion on after I wash my hands, it drives me NUTS when my hands are dry! Ick.

Speaking of, I need to buy a new bottle for my purse AND for our DL trip!!

will do! :) thank you, I have looked in the camping section at Target, as well as their travel size items bins, and the dollar and $2.50 spot, nada, but I have not looked specifically, as of yet, in the pharmacy section at Target. I might have to look again,at longs, and if nothing there, I will check out k-mart, again as well, it was some time ago, that I last looked at those stores.
I prefer Target! :) and have looked most recently again, for those items there.

I just wanted to give a quick warning with this. I did exactly this the last time we went to Disneyland but when my 5 year old rubbed her eyes after cracking the stick, she started to cry saying her eyes hurt. There was some kind of powder or something on the outside plastic and it transferred from her hands to her eyes. It was awful. I've never bought dollar store glow sticks since.

Just wanted to pass that along.
