The Nosama thread - rambling nothings

They don't take any longer because you can't really do any of the 'lotiony-soaky' parts of a manicure.

*Yes, lotiony-soaky is a real phrase.:rolleyes1

You do sit with them under the light, but while you're getting your right hand done, your left is under the light...etc.

You have to have the paint taken off with 100% acetone, but you can have them do that or buy it yourself. I'm so happy to finally have nice nails again.:cloud9:

Ahh, got it. I've only had a manicure once, so thanks for the explanation. :)

Thank you! That's what I'm thinking, too! My DH & I are going in Sept for our anniversary, so I'm really not as deprived as I'm acting! :rotfl2:

Have a wonderful trip!!! :goodvibes

If the temperature will be above 55, that's all I need to make it wonderful.

Thanks! :flower3:

I love this thread.

Suffering through a migraine today....medicine has started working so I don't feel like my brain is going to blow up anymore. I've decided to start couponing - not the crazy 60 bottles of mustard couponing, but I am looking up websites that help you pair sales with coupons. Thursday will be 3 weeks until our cruise! This weekend my mother and I are going to get pedicures so our toes will be pretty. I think we are going to Epcot on Saturday and staying for fireworks (which we never do). Starting tomorrow I am teaching one of the adult women's classes at my church, so I am busy finishing up my lessons.

The salon has an opening for a facial at the time DD is getting her nails done. So guess who is getting her first facial? Woop woop! That'd be me. :) :woohoo:

Do I need to wash my face before I go or do they do that?

focus, happy belated birthday. :yay:

I love this thread.

Me too. Tonight we are firing up the grill for the first time this year. My brother is visiting from NY so we'll grill some rib-eyes and asparagus, have some baked potatoes and a couple of bottles of wine. I am interested in the shellac manicure - I have soft, kind of weak nails, does it make them stronger? I'd love to have long pretty nails again that are actually mine!

Today isn't rolling up to be a very great day.

Woke up at 3 a.m. WIDE AWAKE, couldn't go back to sleep. Normally wake up at 5:30 and when I finally got sleepy at 5:15, I figured it was too late to go back to sleep.

We needed to go in to the office a bit late today, so I let DH sleep in and I took DD to school. Window person at Dunkin tried handing me my coffee holding it by the lid (seriously?), it dropped and splattered all over the outside and some on the interior of the RENTED vehicle I have. Luckily, it didn't get on me.

The reason for going in late today AND for the rented car, is because we sold our vehicle (gas guzzler) yesterday (guy offered exactly what we were asking), intended on renting the car for one day, when DH found JUST the vehicle we wanted from an individual for a GREAT price. DH called the guy yesterday afternoon and asked if we could come meet him right then, or later in the evening and he said he wouldn't be home until 10 p.m. or later, but, that since he just listed it, he would DEFINATELY let us be the first to look DH said can we meet at 8, guys says no, earliest is 10. So we are 3/4 of the way through the ONE HOUR drive to meet the guy and we were going to be a little early, so DH calls the guy to tell him. The guy says, "Oh, I am sorry, I have a guy at my house right now buying it". AAARRRRRGGGGHHHH. What a heel. Bothers my DH most because he is such a man of his word and this really TICKED him off!

So, now, DH is furiously searching for another vehicle so we don't have to rent a vehicle for another day.

DD calls when I just walked in the office to tell me that FIVE field trip forms are due today and one of them has a medical release form that needs to be notarized. I asked her why she hadn't given them to me sooner (she is normally TOO on the ball about these things), she says, I put them in your inbox at the office. I frantically searched through both my in and out boxes and found nothing. I looked in a box I have labeled for very "back burner" stuff and sure enough, there they are! Luckily the office next door has a notary, so thats one less thing to worry about!

Luckily, I plopped a roast and potatoes and carrots in the crock pot this morning, so when I get home, DD and DH can have at it and I am going to BED!!!

I am completely worthless at the office today, thank goodness its my own business! This was a great thread to read and respond to! THANKS!

One tip on facials ~ skip the extractions. They hurt!

Your post makes me want to say "Calgon, take me away" hopefully your evening gets better. :)

SJ, what exactly do they extract? lol

Pimples and blackheads. They take this little wire loop and dig those suckers out. :scared: Yikes!

Thanks! Enjoy the facial! I've never had one. I could use a massage tho. :rotfl2:

Extractions do hurt, but if you need it (have a lot of pimples and blackheads), it's worth it. Might make your face red afterwards, though. I LOVE facials, but I haven't had one in 4 years!! I am planning to get one on our cruise on the Dream in just a few weeks though!

I would always go to a facial make-up free, but I bet if you need to wash your face they will do that.

Today is mine and DH's 18th wedding anniversary~ :thumbsup2

Has anyone been watching The Killing on AMC?

Today is mine and DH's 18th wedding anniversary~

Happy 18th Anniversary! We're on 18yrs. too~ a great time.
It's 45 and rainy here today in Ohio...been the same for the past bazillion days. I need some sun!

Now I'm reminded that I need to do my nails~ no manicure for me, I'm trying to save my $ to go on a WDW girls' trip with my BFF :)

Happy day to everyone~

Jules, find out if they do shellac manicures at the place you're going to. I've been doing them for a few months and they last 2 weeks no matter what chores you do. They're only $3 more at my salon, so it's well worth it. Otherwise I highly doubt that she's going to go more than 2 days without a chip.

Is she getting her toes done as well?

Hope this hasn't already been answered, I am tired, so sorry if it has. What is this shellac manicure you speak of, and can you get it on tips? I am treating myself and DD this weekend and we are getting tips and pedicures. If this shellac thing works on tips it sounds perfect. Pretty nails for more than I week, I can handle that!
