It is a gorgeous Tuesday here in Frederick, MD. I'm taking my DD to get her nails done for the prom after work. Then getting ready for a really busy weekend. DD is going to her BF's soccer game tonight so it is just DBF and I for dinner. I think we'll grill scallops since DD doesn't like them and she won't be home for dinner.

Ah yea, that reminds me, I have to take DS to rent his tux. Do you have any idea how difficult it is to get a teenage boy to ask (or even care about) the color of his date's dress? I'd ask her myself, but I can't really be sure that she IS currently his date

Nails on Tuesday....is that early? Will they last? I never....seriously never....had my nails done professionally.

85 and partly cloudy here. Would much rather be on Disboards occasionally peeking out the window than in the dark and lonely laundry room. Can't wait to hear about DD6's field trip to the zoo. Also wondering if DD7 is going to quiz me about the tooth fairy and Santa Claus again this afternoon. Still not sure where that $5 bill went. DH has requested clean underwear for tomorrow, so I need to head to Target.

I'm not sure if they will last. lol But that's the latest appointment they have available. She wants a short sporty length so I'm hopeful. *crossing fingers* I do know that knowing my DD she will use her nails as an excuse not to do chores this week so I won't have wasted my money on them. She's conisderate, huh?

Her dress had to be hemmed so we had fabric from it that her and DBF took to the Tuxedo place. I can't wait to see how cute they are going to be.

snappy, they are going to be a french manicure but the white tips will be the pink shade of her dress instead of white. She had them done like that in red for homecoming and they looked awesome.

Nalisa, ummm Target for clean underwear? Are you so right that you buy new undies instead of washing them? lol

Sounds cute! And it should last... I had a French manicure (with ivory instead of bright white) on short nails done 3 days before my wedding and it lasted through my honeymoon.

Still chilly and overcast in Seattle. We had a spring teaser over the weekend, but now it's rainy again. I'm so ready for summer! Wrestling my wiggly crawling baby into shoes and a jacket is getting so old! I'm so ready for a t-shirt with his cloth diaper and calling it a day. I need to go grocery shopping today... I'm feeling like we're starting the summer grill season, sun or no sun!

Kinda chilly and overcast today, but hey, at least no snow! Supposed to get up to near 70 for the weekend.

DD's 20th birthday is this Sunday, but she just called me and was mad that I "stole" her day for Mother's Day - I told her that if it weren't for me being a mother, she wouldn't have a birthday!!

DS's choir contest is Saturday. Our high school choir is excellent, and usually wins Superior ratings. Can't wait to hear them. They sing in lovely Tipton, Iowa, where the bakery there is famous for their Crescents!

I'm hoping we'll be able to turn the furnace off before Memorial Day. It's currently cloudy, with sprinkles, high of 42.

I really need to finish up some last minute things before we leave for WDW tomorrow, but I'm sitting here eating my lunch and DIS'ing.

I've still got my heat on, too. It was 40's last night & it's been raining forever. Hopefully it'll stop raining so much by the weekend & warm up a little.

I should be doing something, but I'm just Dising & catchng up on DVR'd shows. Too rainy & cold to be motivate to do anything else!

Jules, find out if they do shellac manicures at the place you're going to. I've been doing them for a few months and they last 2 weeks no matter what chores you do. They're only $3 more at my salon, so it's well worth it. Otherwise I highly doubt that she's going to go more than 2 days without a chip.

Is she getting her toes done as well?

She's not getting her toes done since she is wearing ballet flats. I see that they offer shellac manicures. Does shellac work on acrylics too?

The shellac manicures take a bit longer, right? Because you have to sit with your hands under a special light? I think?

They don't take any longer because you can't really do any of the 'lotiony-soaky' parts of a manicure.

*Yes, lotiony-soaky is a real phrase.

You do sit with them under the light, but while you're getting your right hand done, your left is under the light...etc.

You have to have the paint taken off with 100% acetone, but you can have them do that or buy it yourself. I'm so happy to finally have nice nails again.
