Since I have been pouring over the Disney Dining Review Board here the past few days..dreaming of Disney food with only 12 short days to go..
I thought to myself...self: You ate at some pretty good places in June, why don't you share your thoughts and opinions??
Well I replied to myself...gee I don't know, I don't have very many pics of food.....and I know these people LOVE some food pics.
Self replied: Well it sure beats cleaning doesn't it??
I replied: Ok, you win!
Yes I do frequently talk to myself and find it perfectly acceptable
Ok so our June trip was for 7 nights, we were a group of 10. My family consisted of Myself, DH (so not a disney lover
) DD7, and we brought my cousin, 13.
Our travelling partners consisted of my friend, her husband, and their 4 kids ages 16, 11, 8, and 5!! They stayed offsite, we were at Port Of Orleans Riverside with the dining plan. My main worry was all the expensive food and their budget, but we looked over menus and prices at allears and they were in agreement with all choices, they said when they were at Disney before thats how they normally ate anyhow, CS for lunch and TS for dinner.
Now I can not possible remember what everyone ate at this point, but I definetly remember what I ate!
This was both families second trip to WDW, the first trip for DCousin.

Ok now I know this restaraunt gets a lot of bad reviews for "not being as good as it used to" but this was our first time here, so I have nothing to compare it to.
We arrived about 15 minutes before our scheduled ADR and informed the hostess that instead of a party of 10, it would be 4. After almost a 21 hour car trip, they wanted to stay at their resort, rest and check things out there. They were more than happy to make the change. and said our wait would be about 20 minutes.
We were seated in 5. We had a table toward the back or side (trying to remember the layout) and we were right by a window, we could somewhat see the castle. Kind of away from all the "action" and had a hard time hearing what was going on, we did catch the coconut race announcement, so DD was able to participate in that. We thought the atmosphere (and the Poly) were wonderful!
Onto the food!
I did order the LAPU LAPU after hearing so much about it, and quite frankly wanted to drink something out of a pineapple
lol! Boy for a lightweight like me, this drink was STRONG. I only drank about half of it.
The starters of the shrimp, salad, wonton chips, and chicken wings came out. I don't eat fish or seafood, but DH and DD ate the shrimp and thought it was good. We all loved the salad, I was worried about all these "funky" salad dressings because basically I am kind of a French Dressing girl, maybe ranch on a rare occasion. But anyway, I thought the salad was delish! The dressing was just the right amount, it was very flavorful!! I also tried the Wonton chips but the only dressing I liked was the peanut sauce. Dh likes things spicy so I think it was the chimchurri sauce he liked? DD and DCousin didn't like any of these. We all really loved the chicken wings, especially DD which suprised me since she claims to not like chicken
Next up came the maui scalloped potatoes and the stir fry vegetables. No one ate their veggies
but thats ok since we al ate salad lol. They didn't look very appetizing, besides DH, DC and I were LOVING the maui potatoes!!! DD wouldn't try them and she won't eat them at home either. Plus they were coming around with the meat
I tried the steak, the pork loin, and the turkey. I opted off the sausage, I don't really care for any type of sausage. DH and DD liked it alot. I was really worried that the meats would be dry and have a charred type of flavor, but I was incredibly wrong. ALL the meats were very tender and full of flavor. I really thought the turkey especially would be dry, but like I said I was definetly wrong. I had seconds on the steak and the turkey. I think DH had seconds on all the meat.
Next up was the piece de resistance..the bread pudding a la mode with bananas foster sauce. Ok a little back track, we live in a very rural area of Illinois. Pop; 3000. I had never had bananas foster, it's sauce or had a clue what it is supposed to taste like. I had never tried bread pudding either. I mean come on, by the name alone it doesn't sound appetizing at all. Well after one bite I was in heaven
This was one of the best desserts I had ever ate. Why oh why did they wait til the end of the meal to serve this though?!?! I was so stuffed as it was and this was so delecious!! It was so good that I basically ate to the point of being seriously uncomfortable
it was that good. We all really loved this dessert, DD just ate the ice cream plain though. ( I have an ADR for here on our upcoming trip YAAY! I can't wait to go back!) We decided to go walk around a bit at MK to help feel a bit better..what a place for an after dinner walk!
Up next is Columbia Harbour House and Liberty Tree Tavern!!
