The ninth most haunted place in the country...

Suddenly, I got a feeling that is hard to describe. To say it was panic or a sense of impending dread is putting it mildly. Imagine you were somewhere when someone started shooting and your heart started pounding while your brain told you, "Get out! Hurry! Fast! Get out! Get out!" That's how it felt.

We've been on a few ghost tours here in Savannah and caught a few things on film. Really is quite fascinating.

MouseketeerOvaHere, did you happen to go into the Moon River Brewing Company? It's supposedly one of the most haunted buildings in the U.S. I had much the same experience as EMom there - in the men's restroom of all places! I felt like someone was breathing down my neck all the while that I was in there - like a physical presence with no one there. I had an overwhelming feeling that I had to get out of there.

A few months later I noticed that the Moon River Brewing Company was being featured on one of the "ghost hunter" shows. They also mentioned that multiple rehab companies had quit the job based on goings-on on the upper floors.

Speaking of interesting places, we had the chance to see Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia recently. What an amazing place. I can't recommend the self-guided tour there enough.

For some reason this reminds me of an old novelty song from the 1960s about Irving, the 142nd fastest gun in the West!

Hey GDUL, I know of the Moon River Brewing Co. but have never had the opportunity to go there. I use to work across the street at the Hyatt and for the longest time thought it was just a brewing factory and bar, and since I don't drink much, I never went there. I just recently found out that they serve pretty good food too so I may check it out. I found out through a friend of mine who use to work there, that most things happened in the basement and he isn't sure if they allow guest down there or just co-workers. He worked there before all the media increased tour prices by $15. LOL, those are his words not mine.

I have went on a couple of trolley/walking tours and just snapped pictures left and right. Most pictures had orbs, which I don't really take as energy as much as I do dust/bugs, however, I managed to capture a full apparition of a what appears to be a man who had committed suicide by jumping from his balcony. The head, face, shoulders are very prominent but the rest of the body isn't as defined. Kinda looks like streak rather than the rest of the body. Also, managed to get a picture of a mist in the square where the young lady was hung after giving birth to her child that was taken from her. I took several pictures back to back and in a few there is nothing. One shows something trying to appear (very light mist) and then I have the pic of the mist in the very spot she was hung. When I got home and saw the pics, I almost freaked out. I have always believed in spirits but am the type that thinks they aren't as easily seen as people make them out to be. So when I watch shows, I'm usually skeptical but that experience has shown me that they do exist.

That was the scariest episode on Ghost Hunters, that Moon River Brewing Company when they showed that creepy dark figure, wow that was really scary. We were in Savannah last yr but didn't get a chance to do a ghost tour, a part of me really wanted to go there, but there is a part of me that was really nervous about it.

We were eating lunch in the middle of the afternoon so I guess that I had a "ghost tour" for one. It was just out of the blue and it really un-nerved me. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. We've eaten there several times since and I haven't "felt" anything but I sure think about it - LOL!

I don't know if it's the most haunted place in Savannah but it is suppose to have a lot of activity. As far as I know, the Hampton Lillibridge House is suppose to be the most haunted building in Sav. The construction crew abandoned the jobs there, as well. In fact, it's the only known building in Sav to have ever had an exorcism. It has been for sale for many years but unable to maintain residents. There are a dozens of places here though that are claimed to have activity. The Pirate House, Gordon Juliette Lowe House, Kehoe House, Marshal House, The Colonial Park Cemetery and the Bonaventure Cemetery. There are just a lot of old buildings still standing here (since 1700's) that didn't get burned by Sherman's Army like most cities in the South and they have a lot of history. There are underground tunnels here that I would love to explore but they were used during TB and other disease outbreaks and probably aren't too sanitary. The city has the entrances blocked off and hidden to distract from curious explorers but the threat of disease is enough for me.

Every year they change the most haunted city location but I can tell you, IMHO I think New Orleans has some deep history and evil spirits. My brother use to live there and once when I went to visit, I felt so uneasy that I am almost sure something was messing with me. I was a 20 yr old who was known to say, " I can't believe you guys fall for this voodoo and witchcraft mumbo jumbo". Right after that, there was a awful smell and I got extremely light-headed. I took back my words asap and remained quiet the rest of the tour. That was in Lafayette Cemetery.
