The Night Kingdom

Now the local news is reporting it as news from WDW . . . . .

I got to say that the rumored "Night Kingdom" sounds cool from reading some articles, but I'm concerned if its going to be a complete success. I mean disney says they won't have any thrill rides which could be a little boring and they only allow a certain number of visitors at a time who have to pay a lot of money. I'm sorry to say this, but I don't think this should be built because I don't think it will do well.

Discovery Cove is doing well without any thrill rides. I suppose going on safari with night-vision goggles or spleunking is thrill enough

I think its a cool idea, but its not the disney way. I rather see a park with thrill rides. Now that would be a huge success.

Whats the Disney way? I'm pretty sure thats - how to cash in for the stockholders

To me the Disney way is fun rides like Space Mountain and Tower of Terror. I do agree with you that this will do well financially for Disney, but the prices are too high for the average family.

While I think the Night Kingdom sounds cool, and I'm sure I would enjoy some sort of experience like they are describing, I agree that it is a risky proposition right now. I agree with AnotherVoice that Disney has their hands full with DCA. If there is one thing I can say for certain, Disney is not very fond of the idea that DCA dropped below 4 other parks in attendance last year worldwide. As a result, they are obviously throwing a lot of money at the problem, and I think any other large capital expense/new gate like the Night Kingdom will fall under a far greater amount of scruity than it would have in the past, especially given the outlook on our economy. At $300 a pop, this is not something they can just slap together to get a gate open, as they did in California, and even Hong Kong.

Its great to talk about the possiblities of a 5th gate, I enjoy it just as much as the next guy. I just dont think the dollars and sense of it are there right now, with over $1 billion flowing into DCA. The Night Kingdom sounds like a great idea, I'm just not so sure its $300 great....:confused3

AV and I haven't always agreed.

Uhmm, well, perhaps we haven't ever agreed.

And yet, I thought this was a bit over the top.
