The Newlyweds eat, drink, eat again and stumble around the world ddxp 5/31-6/7

Thank you everyone. Ok 3....2....1.....TAKE OFF!

We arrived at the Boardwalk at around 10am. We were starved and ESPN did not open until 11am (mousepotato really wanted to do this since he did it with friends last year). Well normally we would have bit the bullet and waited until 11am but we were in Disney folks. I felt like a cartoon...enjoying my stroll on the Boardwalk as the sweet delicious smell floats looking for prey, and it finds it in me.

Me: Honey do you smell that?
DH: uh huh...smells good
Me: start running toward bakery with cupcake in mind.

We get in line at the bakery...can you belive it? These people have the nerve to want a cupcake at the same time as me? Well luckily no scene was caused because there was a cupcake or two left. Dh and I decided to not be really piggy and get our own so we split.

Ah yes this is the stuff my heaven is made of. Sugary, sweet, buttery, fluffy goodness. All joking aside it was a great cupcake. I really enjoyed it and would pay for it anyday- or everyday for that matter.

As you can see mousepotato is very excited to be eating here, after all sports, personal TV's and nachos is pretty much his sports dream:bitelip: So we started with nachos and wings since that is pretty much what is on the menu. The wings were not my fav but I am not a huge wing eater but Dh also agree the wings were not the best. that was disappointing since it is a sports bar right? Well the nachos were actually really good. Nothing special but still good. We decided just to get 2 chx cesear salds since we were already getting full. They were not great. The chicken was clearly pre cooked and salad soaked in dressing. I much prefer the salad I had at the brewery last year. dessert was also pretty disappointing. i had sugar free gealto- it was decent and DH had a dessert called chocolate covered pretzels? yeah not pretzels more like cookies shaped like pretzels with choc dip on the side. Service was good although it had just opened and was still slow. as you can see we were not to enthusiastic about the meal so we didn't even take pics. The setting was definitly cool but we have a mega espn ZONE HERE IN nyc so most likely we willnot be going back anytime soon to this location.

So this was a private dinner I had set up with the chef who created the dinner for our wedding- Chef Dennis. This guy is simply amazing. What a show and what a dinner. Dan was blown away as was I. It was one of the best experiences we have ever had. Especially because it was so interactive and the set up the kitchen right there so we could watch them prepare. They set us up a tbale inside because there had been a fire in the are and the soot was travelling, also it was really hot so we didn't mind not being on the pretty patio.

Just an amazing experience. I had thought of doing V&A's but we had gone there a few times and plan to go back so I wanted to do something out of the ordinary. This was it!

up next.... Good morning, Good morning

WOW is all I can say to the BW private dining experience, looks amazing!:thumbsup2

After that I almost hate to comment on this but DH just loves ESPN's chicken wings and must have them at least two or three times each trip. I hope, for his sake, that you guys caught them on a bad day.;)

Can't wait for more reviews!!!!

Tigerkat- oh I hope so because as I said DH had it last year and loved them. The wings were almost grizzly and fatty- maybe it was just the first batch?

Nemmie- hello love, I thave always wanted to do one of these;)

Suzimar- thank you!

So the next moring we awoke bright and early and head off to the Mgic Kingdom. We were there for the opening ceremony and then grabbed some breakfast at the bakery.

This is always a pleaser and a favorite. The egg sandwiches are better here than anywhere else. Flaky croissant and gooey cheese. Top that off with yummy gooey french toast bread and being on Main Street USA and that's what I call breakfast.

Overall I say very good meal. I liked the rueben the bread was buttered and nice and toasted and loved the fries. Mousepotato was on the fence about the reuben but is so much more of a burger or club type of guy. He just wanted to try something new. The milkshake was yummy and Dh thouroughly enjoyed his split! It had choc, vanilla, strawberry ice cream, choc sauce, strawberry sauce, pineapple, whip cream, banana, nuts and a cherry on top. all the works and really imo 2 people can split this but dh did fine on his own.

Can't wait for more!
The private dinning looked amazing..bring on the cheese cart:cool1:

hahah that cheese cart was amazing! Dh almost died and went to heaven. They even gave us little cards with the cheese names and descriptions like at a restaurant except each cheese had a card and a story!

I noticed we will be at F&W at the same time...I can not wait for that!

recaps cont'd

So after lunch at the Plaza and riding a few more rides we decided to head back to the Boardwalk. We had ressies at Narcoosee's for 6pm and wanted to rest and wash up. One lesson I learned this trip:

Lots o' food + mega heat + lots o' sugar= 2 tired big kids needing a cat nap:laughing:

Anyway after washing up resting and changing we headed back to MK to grab the boat to the GF. This was somewhat of a special meal also because we had not been back to Narcoosee's since mousepotato proposed 3 years ago. I do not know why we never went back- we just didn't. So it was a nice way to celebrate again. Hey who needs an excuse to celebrate in Disney?

This was an amazing meal. I mentioned to the girl who was making our ADR's that it was our anniversary and so she must have noted it because they had a special printed menu waiting for us. The service was some of the best we had at Disney. The meal was delicous...nothing we didn't like. The crab cakes were fresh crab, just seared and so tasty. The tuna was so fresh and light. The lobster was cooked perfectly and the desserts did not dissappoint! I would highly recommend this place. There is also a wonderful view of MK! Great choice for seafood lovers.

Your author very excited to be be returning to this place...

Everything else was equally a scrumptious! I just got carried away and din't snap piccies. The lobster was huge and was over 1 1/2 lb. Dessert was good...I stuck to sorbet though because I wanted to enjoy my dole whip at the MK.:worship:

Well let me tell you mousepotato is obsessed with pretzels. We have to try them in evry park and they can never match the ones in Fantasyland near the pooh playground for him. They are soft on the inside and firm on the outside and never stale. Well enough about that. My obesseion? The dole whip- I mean I at sorbet for dessert at dinner for pete's sake for this stuff. Soft creamy refeshing goodness. Dh just doesn't get- ugh men:lmao:

Up next..You have an urgent call from Mickey Mouse and he wants to know how your grapefruit cake is!

So glad to read yet another stellar review of Narcoossee's. We're trying it for the first time next trip, can't wait!!!

Wow, can't believe I missed these reviews. The private dining looked fantastic, do you mind me asking is the cost comparable to V&A? And do you get to choose the exact menu, or do you just let them know what you can't eat?

Great review of Narcoosees too, looking forward to going back there in September now.

wow, what great reviews! That private dining looked amazing, if we weren't already overbooked for our October trip, I'd book it as a surprise for DH!
You guys are a lot like us, we're newlyweds, frequent Disney visitors, same age, and we have similar eating tastes. When will you be there for F&WF? It would be cool to do a lap around the world with some other folks sometime!

have never been inside the plaza restaurant - it looks quite lovely! - and the view of the castle is wonderful! - isn't narcoosees a gem?! - we love it there - and you both seem so happy during your visit there! - the photos are great, especially those crabcakes - we get them every time! - enjoying your reviews and photos - keep them coming! :goodvibes

Love wings and nachos! Like chicken caesar too...Dissapointed to hear this, but I'll keep following!

Glad to hear you loved Narcoosees!! On our ADR as well!

Happy Anniversary! The menu was cool!:)
