good afternoon cheerleaders!!
i have a funny little story to share with ya'll today...
matthew has been driving around town now for a year with a driver's license that has been expired
...but it's actually been expired now for...
TWO YEARS!!!!! i know, i know...
i have been after him to go and get a new license since we moved here...well, when my car insurance place caleed and "reminded" me about it, i jumped on his case even more...the excuse has been that he has to take both a written and a driving test and the appointments for a driving test are 45-60days out right now...and with his job changes and such, he just wasn't sure when he would be able to go and take care of it...so i discovered that a new license branch just opened up in our area
...and no one seems to have discovered this yet! so, i checked the hours and everything and took him in there to take the written exam and then to schedule his driving test. he passed the written and we only had to wait a week for the driving test...so we went and did that this morning...
a few months back, he did go in and get a state ID card so that he had something legal. but when he got home, i looked at it and according to the BMV, he was a female!
...ok...i know it's actually kind of funny...he didn't have the chance to go back and fix it, so we just decided to wait until he got his license and we'd fix it then. well, he said something about it to the gal putting the info into the computer and they all got a good giggle out of it and she said she made sure that it said male.
well, we get up to the counter after the picture was taken and everything else, and he looks at the license to make sure it was correct, and it still said female on it! they discovered that they couldn't just change it in the computer, they had to call to the main office and get permission to change it. AND they said it was a possibility that he would have to PROVE that he was male!
we weren't quite sure what kind of "proof" they were looking for...
all of the girls working there got quite a giggle out of that one...matthew wasn't quite sure if they were going to take him into a back room and ask for his "proof" or not! it was pretty funny...they did eventually clarify that the proof they were looking for would be his birth certificate...
well, they got the clearance to make the necessary change to his record, but the way they explained to him how they had to do it is almost just as funny...they made it sound as if they had to put in the system that he had a sex change!
i don't think that's exactly what they meant, but it's now correct on his license and his ID and i guess that's all that matters...
how's that for a good giggle? have a good day!!
