Maybe nuttin'.....

Have to go to the hospital and see my old best friend who is very ill and has no one. I seem to have been appointed her keeper and guardian for now, as she is unable to care for herself (multiple medical problems) and has no family. The hospital (and possibly the state government, I understand) sees me as the salvation in this situation.
That's scary.....

Maybe visit with another old friend for a bit, if things work out....

OK--So why is it that if I had had to work today, had stayed up late and did not set my alarm. I would have seriously overslept and would have been (very) late for work, but, with the above scenario in place, except I don't have to work, I wake up @ 0430 and then, can't get back to sleep??????

And I had planned on slepping late, too!


And, I'm still not beautiful, so, guess it's just to the hospital...

My friend is such a sad case....We had worked together and she had left there. About 2 years later, I started nursing school, and there she was! We graduated together and used to do lots of things together (even took a vacation to Fla together), although in the past 2 or 3 years, I hadn't really seen her. When she had her 1st stroke, I was the one who took her to the hospital.
Now, she is very sick, can't walk, and has had 2 more strokes, . (the last, in Feb, left her unable to work)in addition to this current problem. She has speech problems (word finding problems, really), ad memory difficulties. So very sad....

Thinking of you and your friend today Poohlovr. I'm going to visit my mom, she has some of those speech and cognitive problems too, as a result of her brain surgery (aneurysms) and stroke, but has made remarkable progress. "They" said she'd improve the most dramatically within the first 6-12 months, then more slowly and/or unevenly in the next 6 -12, and then after that pretty much plateau after a couple of years. But here we are almost 4 years later and she is still improving physically and cognitively. Alas, still in a nursing home though medically she does not need to be, but THAT is another whole chapter in the dysfunctional story of my family

Now ladies, no bickering about the music in the hot tub, or I'll have to SING or sumpin'!!!!

Oh my, I am really losing it, when I hit reply I still hear the Pirates music.
Stress.....yup....my family is in total dysfunctional chaos right now. I'm in avoidance mode...that's why I went early to see my mom, so I wouldn't run into anyone else
And now DH's family is competing for our "family stress" allotment...his elderly aunt is becoming "demented" as she nears death's door, a niece is pulling stuff that makes me want to introduce her to my sister and maybe they can become housemates and drive each other nuts instead of everyone else.........
I'm really enjoying my teenage daughter these days......just goes to show how bad the extended family is when your relationship with your 16 yr old daughter is one of the bright points in your life I hope that made sense hehehehe but if it didn't......oh well


Tomorrow we are officially babysitting Madyson for the first time, just and hour or two in the morning
