Hi Milo!!
Great to see you back here!

We are getting some much-needed rain here today!
Guess I will have to get out the oxyclean to wash the soccer practice clothes

Need suggestions for DD's 16th b-day gift...a week from Sunday. Sapphire is her birthstone...I was thinking maybe jewelry, but not sure. (I would rather go to WDW LOL) Does anyone remember any very well-received gifts they got as (or gave to) a sweet-16-er???

Hi everyone...I'm a tad late today considering I usually post every morning  tough day

{{{HUGS}}} to you Sue

Hi milo...great to see you here. Have safe fun happy trips :)

Ann, know what you mean about laundering the soccer stuff

Teri, don't work too hard ;)

very nice card Christine

hmmmmmm......For my 16th birthday I received a car and a phone call from this guy at school that I was crazy about but had never met....He said, "Hi, this is Russell Groenendyk..I am your birthday present" If the name sounds familiar it is because I had that name for 19 years almost..... :) But a disney trip sounds great too!!!! Oh yes, I did recieve a ring from my DM and that I still have 22 years later.....So, go with the jewelry...you can't go wrong....:)

ok, no not working too hard....although I am a bit tired this week...

tough day
why:confused:

Hello everyone! Had the last (and most painful) set of allergy tests today and figured out I live in the wrong state! I'm allergic to Bluegrass and Tobacco Leaf. I'm also allergic to several molds/ mold spores and ragweed but how can I be allergic to Bluegrass when I live in the Bluegrass State? And Tabacco leaf is a year round alergen here (being a very large cash crop and all).
They said that right now it looks like latex and molds are the main problem. They are also still having me eliminate certain foods that I reacted to as raw ingredients then add ne a wek back to see how I react to them.
The good news is I'm NOT allergic to dogs!!! The Dr. kept thinking my dog could be aggravating my allergies but they did a couple of different tests to check and they were both negative. Good thing b/c I'd probably be sleeping in the car b/c Kevin would pick Dillon over me I think! (So would I actually, I'd have just had to get shots and use "sneeze no more" in the house.

Well, I've bored ya'll enough w/ my allergiesso I hope ya'll are having a great week and I'll talk to ya'll soon.

Oh no big deal Teri....little things.....like adjusting to 3 new daycare children all at once...I prefer to adjust one at a time  and hormonal  :teeth:
But thanks for asking
I had no idea your first marriage lasted that long....or have you been divorced a long time? my first marriage didn't quite last 4 years and I left him 6 times in between

My 16th birthday...don't really remember it....don't want to
 But I do believe my mom gave me a floating opal...my birthstone....I don't have it anymore. When I walked out on my first husband...he stopped paying the rent so the landlord kept it :(
geez...I still sound down....don't I???

OK OK :teeth: :teeth: :teeth: there...thats better :teeth:
I'm going camping today at Jelleystone Park...remember? I have a date with Yogi ;) I won't be back till later Monday

Shellie glad your tests are over and that you don't have to sleep out in the dog house ;)

Oh Sue, I forgot to mention...your glamour shot was beautiful

Ann...give her a car ;) she'll love you :teeth:

I had no idea your first marriage lasted that long....

Oh, that is so ironic....I forget that you guys didn't know me that long...Actually, I was married for 14 years when we separated...It was a huge shock to all who knew us.....  But the story has a happy ending....Russell is very happy with his new wife and daughter and you guys all know that I truly found my soul mate....
I was the one who ended the marriage and devestated my x....Now we are just like brother and sister....It is very wierd.....

ok, hi to all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so glad that the weekend is here.....I am very tired......(WONDER WHY???????????)

Shellie - Sorry you are going to through all that testing....I know that is rough.....

I am NOT giving her a car for her birthday....but I am going to give her a VERY good deal on my 2000 Mazda 626 which I will have paid off next February and she will buy from me when she gets her license hopefully around that time.....but she ISpaying for it out of her savings account...it will make a dent in HER own college savings fund, but I will use the money as a down payment on MY new vehicle. Which I haven't decided upon yet...but have my eye on the totally impractical (for New England) Chrysler Sebring CONVERTIBLE!!!!!!!!! Really want a new VW Bug if they made THOSE in convertible...but totally petrified to take a little teeny lightweight car like that down 3/128 into Massachusetts on my trips to the parents, especially in winter .

Teri---It's nice you and X are like brother & sister. I can't say that about mine. But I can TOTALLY relate to having found a soul mate :) ;) While we're spilling background info...my X and I were high school sweethearts, married on the 5 year anniversary of our first date (our first date was a footballl game September of our senior year -- our wedding was the September after my college graduation when he got out of the Coast Guard. DD was born right before our 7th anniversary, we split up less than a year later.....
Soon after I found my soul mate, but we were both fresh out of the failed marriages (his MUCH longer than mine) so it was a few years before we felt safe enough to commit ----OK, I was ready before him, it took him longer than me to realize it was fate and stop fighting what was meant to be ;)

Shellie- Here's some "achoo-bless you" PD!!!

JV girls soccer won their season opener 6-0!!! woo-hoo Wish I could say Varsity lost by that much ;) but I think they were up 1-0 in the second half of theirs, not sure of their final outcome.

Woo-Hoo for the JV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DD was born right before our 7th anniversary, we split up less than a year later.....
That is funny..My DD was born 7 years and 4 months into our marriage....

Now George had never been married.....So DD will be an only child on our side.....

I can't believe it is Friday night already - I have not been on the CB all week long. It is really a shame when you are too busy to DIS :)

DD had a great first day at preschool. She didn't cry at all and really seemed to have fun. I enjoyed my "free" time - I ate ALL BY MYSELF for lunch and it was GREAT!!!!! I did miss her but the day really went quickly and I am sure I'll get used to it.

Sue - I can relate to your soul mate post. I do believe I am with my true soul mate now but for many years I believed someone else was my soul mate. I had such a hard time letting go of him even though we'd been apart for so long just because I believed so strongly that we were meant to be together. Just thinking about him still causes bittersweet feelings for me also. I am sending you a big hug and healing pixie dust in hope that it will help you heal just a bit more. Oh and you can just call me Rhonda - not necessary to type my whole username, okay?

Brandie - you are sooooo close now girl - hang in there and you'll be a married woman before you know it! We can't wait to hear all about the nuptials and your honeymoon so check in right away when you return, okay?

Ann, our dd had her 16th last December. We pondered quite a while on what to get her. After reading something on the CB about gift ideas, we chose a necklace from Tiffany's. Here is the link: http://www.tiffanys.com/html/shoppi...72&dept=15&c_id=WEB1&c_it=64K8&item_retail=90 It is very pretty, reasonably priced, and very classic. She really liked it and I think she'll be able to wear it for many many years. It does come in other sizes as well but the "small" seemed most appropriate for a "young lady." Good luck picking out just the right thing - a 16th birthday is indeed a special occasion!

Shellie - here's hoping they can find just the right treatment for your allergies. The testing sounded so miserable - hopefully the treatment won't be as bad!

Well, my fingers are now tired of typing and I bet your eyes are tired of reading :) so I wil sign off for now.

Hope everyone has a terrific holiday weekend - stay safe and have fun!!

Hey ya'll...!!!

Rhonda..thanks for the link and suggestion! We had been thinking perhaps the Tiffany heart charm bracelet...it seems to be the "thing" amingst her peers this year...though she said a lot of people have "fake" Tiffany heart bracelets and she seems kind of wishy-washy about it. A classic pendant may be the thing....hhmmmm decisions decisions! Must SHOP this weekend ;) :)

Hi amber

Good morning to all and Happy Labor Day weekend! Wonder how Debbie's date with Yogi is going :p :p
