The "Newest" Moms Hangout...

Is it wrong that I almost wish it was just me and the kids going? I mean.. WANT my husband there. He is great with the kids, and LOVES Disney.. But the plane ride is going to stress him out and he just wont be able to handle it! Maybe he should just fly on a different flight. :lmao::lmao:

Looks like you have a great plan. I think the Ohana breakfast on the last day would be a really nice way to leave the world. :-( Anyone else do that? get sad about leaving way before the trip even starts? lol

How long is your flight? At least you don't have to pay for your bags with SW.

Oh, definitely.

All talks of trips make me super sad now, too.
I am just so irritated with my DH.

I think I've finally hit my point where I can't shrug it off anymore and try to delude myself into thinking it will get better.

He's just a miserable person. And he lets the (minor!) things that other people do piss him off and it festers, festers, festers until he just blows his top at ME. Screams and screams and screams at ME and can't tell me why. Just that it's my fault. Except he can never, ever, not once, give me a reason.

It's my fault he's violent, it's my fault he loses his temper, it's my fault he's fat (yes, he really told me this at Disney).

Sorry. I totally didn't mean to come blow off steam but it felt good.

I'm sorry for the situation, but glad you can blow off steam with us. What he does to you is not right. He HAS to find a new outlet and he needs professional help to find it and stick with it. Has there been any good news on that front?

Where are things at, Patsy? Has he made any phone calls to set up any appts. yet? Has he talked about it any more to you? I REALLY hope he gets the help he obviously needs-for all three of yours sakes.

SOLIDS-I wanted to wait as close to 6 months as I could when I first started off but the week leading up to Zander's 4 month birthday I put cereal in his bottle. He hasn't slept all night in a month now, and I am talking getting up numerous times, not just once. When I took him to his 4 month checkup they gave me specific instructions to also start giving him veggies and fruits, starting with once a day to make sure he doesn't get bad gas from it but to start feeding him 3xs a day asap to try and fill him up!!! :scared1: He was in the 80th percentile for height and weight!

He loves bananas and sweet potatoes but not peaches or oatmeal or rice cereal unless they are in his bottle. he will eat an entire Gerber container of food and then follow it up with a four ounce bottle! And he STILL doesn't sleep through the night yet!!:headache:

BTW, he never developed croup. his ped seems to think he had a reflux episode and that the position he was sitting in caused it to reach the esophagus and choke him a little, causing him to gasp for air. Makes more sense than the whole "well, he may have forgotten to breath" or "he's getting the croup" that the hospital told me!

Staley-your trip sounds awesome!! I would love to do a 10 day trip and be able to stay at POR! Hopefully your DH will surprise you (as well as your mother) and it will be a quite pleasant trip!

We called every psychiatrist in town (in our insurance network) and we got "You have to go to the ER and establish patient history before we can see you" or "We only see people in the county" (county across the river, in OH) or "We only see people 55 and over."

Finally found TWO people. One was super nice and friendly but about 30min. away and their records show they aren't in network so they're going to check and call us back.
The other receptionist was extrodinarily mean to us but hey, they can see him in January! Oy.

:hug::hug::hug::hug:
Patsy...you need to do what is right for you and lucas. It's very weird how some people try and keep the misery that they grew up with and others act the complete opposite, because it was so bad.

Hopefully Tom will be able to see someone. Does he have a primary care physician he can start with, that can refer him to someone??

It's so hard, you know you want to be there for him, but you have to think of you and lucas, too!!!!!

Patsy - I just started reading this thread and wanted to give you a . I had no idea this stuff was going on still. Please take care of yourself and Lucas. Dh needs help that only he can make sure he gets ...

So, I know we covered hair loss awhile back but.... is anyone losing it in one place in particular??

I never really thought I was losing hair until now. I think I am practically bald in one area on the back of my head!! I haven't asked DH yet... afraid of the answer.. but curious.

Are you guys losing it all over or one place in particular??

Mine is all over. My hair is really starting to thin out. I dont remember it being so bad before. I have really long hair, so maybe that is why I am noticing it so much. :confused3

Oh Patsy

I really hope that your DH gets the help he so desperately needs because it's incredibly unfair for him to be taking out all his anger on you. And clearly that is not a healthy environment to be raising a child in. He should know that considering his background. It sounds like he wants to get help so that is a good sign. Situations like this are so tough...I have sympathy for your DH because he HAS been through a lot but on the other hand, you can only blame your behavior on your past for so long before it becomes a crutch. He's making you upset and blaming his problems on you which is wrong, wrong, wrong. Man, I really hope you can find a psychiatrist that is covered by insurance b/c I know this is taking it's toll on you and that's just not fair. I'll echo the sentiments of others...we are always here for you to vent and talk to

I haven't had to deal with the hair loss but I get HEAT FLASHES like crazy! I hate it! At first I thought it was just my weight but my super skinny minnie cousin who had her baby two months before me said she gets really hot easily too. Anyone else dealing with this? I sleep with a portable fan pointed directly at me at night even when it's cold out b/c I get so hot. It's awful! Stupid hormones.

Been away for a while and saw your posts about your trip and DH, Patsy. I hope things get better for you soon. I can't imagine the frustration you must be feeling. We're here to listen and hopefully bring a smile to your day.

Patsy, I hope things get better soon. Life is too short......

I guess I got lucky-hair loss AND hot flashes!:scared1:

Katie is covered in a rash from head to toe. It is awful. I had noted in her chart that the older kids are allergic to augmentin (sp?) antibiotic. Her ped said she probably would be too. He was out of town last week, and I saw a really young dr. I got home with her $70 antibiotic before I realized it was a generic form of augmentin, but hoped for the best. It has been a week (day 8), and we saw a rash on her belly this morning. We agreed to throw away the rest of the meds. They called from daycare after lunch because it had spread everywhere-back of her head, face, everywhere! She looks awful.:guilty:

Oy, Patsy, I wish I had some fantastic piece of advice for you that would help you deal.

I'm not even any help with the hair issue! :guilty: I lost hair all over, and it's pretty much stopped. I have tiny little regrowth hairs sticking out.

Aww!! Poor thing! I hope it clears up fast.

:hug::hug: Patsy:hug::hug:

So Lily slept for 8 hours straight last night and would have probably lasted longer had I not woken up to realize my arm was about to fall off. Hopefully she'll do that well when we try to get her in her crib.

Still having major issues with oversupply though. You would think missing feedings at night would tame the supply some, but I just pumped for less than 10 minutes and got 8 ounces!! That's insane!:confused3

Sarah, how did everyone vote yesterday??? I didn't see anything about it.

...I just upgraded us to Windows 7... interesting... very interesting...

Hi girls, I've been out of town the last few days. We went to my parents and had a great time. Natalie sleeps like a champ there in her pack n play. At home she is still waking up at least once a night, all I do is put a binki in her mouth and she falls back asleep. She has started on solids. She loves pears, applesauceand bananas. We are trying peas tomorrow, then on to carrots. She will eat about half a jar, and then 6 to 8 oz. of formula. Right now we are doing it just at lunch. She loves it!!!

We, Dh and I leave in 3 weeks for Disney. I can't wait:banana::banana::banana: It will be just the 2 of us, we are staying at Bay Lake Towers.:banana::banana:

I can't believe I forgot!

It passed!! So everything is cool. I'll probably have to go back to full time in January, which will suck, but at least the library is surviving!

Thanks for asking!
