The "Newest" Moms Hangout...

Where the heck are these consignment sales? How do I find one?

I might have to watch for one and make a day trip with my friend.

Google is my friend.

I found one in Columbus in March. I messaged my pregnant friend to see if she'd want to go (she's an RN and has to request time off ASAP) sooo it could be fun.

Laura, if I remember right you're from that area, right? Ever heard of this thing? http://www.shoppolkadottots.com/

There's also one the end of April - google Columbus Mother of Twins Club and the flyer is on their homepage. I planned on hitting that one with my cousin.

Moms of multiples groups are GREAT places to check out for their sales. They generally have one or two a year. Ours has one in Feb. and these women sell NICE stuff! The best part? Its all geared towards having at least two kids!:lmao:

Lucas and this one will be about 14.5 months apart, depending on if I go to 40 weeks or not.

She said I can wait out to 40wks if I want to schedule the c-section and I realized yseterday that since Wednesdays are her "procedure days" it would probably be 9/1 to have the c-section if we waited til 40wks. So it'd be 9/1/10.... 9+1=10!
Lucas was born on 6/3/09.... 6+3=9
I'm such a freak but this is where my mind goes when I can't sleep! :rotfl:

I'm thinking I might be okay without a double. The only place we've used our stroller this winter is Disney (we won't be going back for awhile), dr. appointments and the mall. The mall has free double rentals and the only other place I go by myself is the grocery store.. which I've already told Tom I will now do when he gets home just to save my sanity. Unless a friend can go with me. I have one friend that loves to just get out and about and do anything so I could go with her.

So that would mean I'd really only need it for the doctor. But they've got free valet parking... and it's a short walk to his office once inside the hospital, so Lucas could probably walk it easily.

I might want one to go to the park but this baby will be born towards the end of the summer and so I wouldn't really need the double until the next summer... and Lucas would be 2 and I'm thinking able to walk around fairly easily.

The idea of all that weight bugs me, too! That is insane.. especially if you add the car seat. Lucas will probably stay a big boy and I can't imagine pushing around 100lbs of weight! ugh!!!

...excuse my rambling please... thinking as I type ;)

One quick thing.. He will be capable of walking at that age... But will he do it willingly, without temper tantrums.. or even go the way you want him too.

Well I just spent a whole lot of money I didn't need to spend.:headache: Dd10 has been begging to be in a pageant, and I've been putting her off. They got forms this week for the Beauty and Beau pageant at school. She begged and I caved. I paid the $20 entry fee, and called a distant cousin that has a dress rental business. We went at 5:30, and dd10 tried on a ton of gorgeous dresses, and picked one that we both really liked. So I ask how much, thinking $50 would be alot to rent a dress. $160!!!!! For one night!!!! And we still have to get shoes, I made an appt for her hair and makeup, and we'll *have* to buy a picture package! So I'm looking at spending $300 for this one night!:scared1:

Is it bad that I hope she hates it and never asks to do this again........:rolleyes1

Holy macaroni! :scared1: I would be right there with you! Hoping she hates it, that is! But Im sure she will look just GORGEOUS!

thanks. that one might be better because i'd like to hit one when I know what I'm having. If it's another boy I'm set but a girl? I could grab some clothes and such.

MY friend doesn't want to find out, though, so maybe we'll hit both for her.
Columbus is a nice day trip for us, just a couple hours...we talked about going up to get the 3d ultrasounds done and the end of April would probably be a good middle ground for both of us. :thumbsup2

I have never heard of it! Great idea!

Oh my goodness.

So I get Lucas his bottle.. go in his room... thinking, I have a test to take this morning and I'll just let him eat in his crib until I'm done.

WRONG!

He is NAKED in his crib (smiling a huge grin at me!) and covered in POOP!

The diaper is still in his ZIPPED!!! up sleeper. How did this happen?!

There is poop all over his bumper, his sheets, his seahorse, his rainforest soother, etc. it's insane in there!

I tried to clean him up but I kept getting sick (his room is on the opposite end of the house as the bathroom and I almost didn't make it once, wouldn't that have been lovely? even more to clean up!)

Soooooooo... he is wrapped up in a blanket in his swing, still covered in poop. I can't do it. I did get it off his hands/arms but his lower area is still covered. :( I feel terrible but I don't know what to do. And I couldn't help but laugh, either. Ugh, what a mess! :rotfl:

oh you poor thing!!

Welcome new mommas!

It's okay, Sarah. I sprayed an entire can of neutra air and went in to take pictures. This will be used against him at a later time! :rotfl:

I called my mom (she works really close to our house) and she is going to come on her lunch break to help me. I'm laughing about it now but also trying to figure out how the heck he did it?!

Well, now I can officially come and join you guys. Elliott Baylor was born on January 26!

Here is his birth story (taken from the mom's to be thread)

I finally have a few moments to update on Elliott's birth.

We went into the hospital about 5:30 on Monday night. I got all registered and situated in my room, and DH left to go home about 8 or so (we figured it would be better for him to get a good night's sleep at home, instead of try and sleep in the hospital room). The nurse checked me, and I was 2 and a half centimeters and 95% effaced, and she did my Cervadil at 9:00 pm. She had to come in and take it out at 10:10 pm, because I was having contractions every 45 seconds to a minute. She said she had seen people progress on Cervadil, but never that quickly!! The contractions slowed to every 2 minutes, and I was only dialated to 3. I got 3 shots of Nubain throughout the night, so I was able to get some sleep. They did offer Ambien, but I was okay without it. I got my last shot of Nubain about 3:30 am. At about 4:00 am, I woke up with a VERY hard and painful contraction. The nurse checked me again, and I was at 5 cm, but contractions were coming hard and fast. She paged anesthesia to get my epidural, and I called DH (he must have been in a very deep sleep, because when he answered, I said he needed to get here, and he said "Why?" :rotfl: )

So, I got my epidural, my water broke on its own about 5:45, and I started pushing at 6:15 am. With my first DS, when I had my epidural, I didn't feel anything when I pushed. This time I felt EVERYTHING. I didn't feel the contractions, but I had the urge to push, and all the pain of pushing.

So I pushed for about 45 minutes, and out he came at 7:03 am. Brown hair and blue eyes and BEAUTIFUL!

It has been hard getting back into baby mode after 10 years, I won't lie! But slowly and surely we are making things work!

Congrats! I had tears reading this story. I know what you mean about getting into the swing of things, I have 2 boys ages 9 1/2 & 7....big change in the house adjusting to a new baby!

Uh, my mom's co-worker told me to put those wonderful morning pictures of Lucas on facebook and friend her so she could see them.

Am I the only one that thinks that is a bit weird and wrong on many levels?

Patsy - While I am sure they are cute photos, I agree with you about putting them on Facebook.

Somehow I have not had a moment of free time since I last posted, even though my mom was here all week. So I thought I wold now as my husband took my mom to the train and is picking up his parents at the airport, but no. My son decided to stay home so I have him and the baby. Soon after my husband left, the baby spit up on her shirt and mine, then I changed her diaper and my son somehow stepped in the diaper and his foot was covered in baby poop. So I stop with the baby, clean my son, and the baby pees all over me, her blanket, and the couch. I change myself and her and then hear a crash which was my son knocking down a shelf in the bathroom, with all the hooks going down the drain. And in-laws flight is at least an hour late and kids have swim classthis afternoon. Fun times here!

I have booked and paid off our Disneyworld vacation... WOOHOO!! AND I leave or Disneyland on Thursday. :cool1: I still havent bought my tickets for that yet.. but its okay, I can pick them up at Safeway.

SO.. Yesterday we were at Chevy's for dinner.. I was feeding Jasmine, and talking to the waitress about the twins.. and I look down, and Kaylee is drinking my MARGARITA!!!:scared1::scared1: OMG!! I was so shocked! I kinda shouted at her to stop, she was so freaked out that she went completely into hysterics. I was trying to calm her down, and my STUPID husband tells her that I could go to jail!! OMG! Trying to calm her down here, DONT say that! Everyone around us was just busting up laughing. Poor kid. It took her about 15 minutes t calm down. Must have been the booze...:lmao::lmao:She only barely got a sip before I stopped her.. I cant believe she was drinking it! She said she asked me, and I said yes.. She could have, I was very distracted. I felt so bad for the kid. So that was our excitement for the evening.

Yeah for paying off your disney trip!:cheer2: I wanna plan a trip.....whah!:guilty:

Whoops for Kaylee drinking your maragita! I'm surprised that she liked it. I guess depending on how its made it could sorta taste like lemonade -- that's *not* how I make a margarita, but I could sorta see it.:rotfl:
