The "Newest" Moms Hangout...

I got the 20/30/40 awhile back, and booked with that. I booked 7 nights hoping for the 7/3 deal, but no luck. Then the gift card deal came out. I had booked with the QSDP, but ran some numbers and ended up with:

5 nights with the gift card ($500) package, and 5 days of base tickets.
5 nights on full dining plan

Then I added 2 nights room only (with the 30% off code), and only paid the deposit. When we get there, I'll use the gift card to pay off the room only charge and add 2 more days to our ticket, and pay for our last few meals and tips on our TS meals. So for about $75 more total, we were able to go from QS meals to some really nice TS meals. I was planning on paying for Chef Mickey's oop, which means this deal will actually save me about $50 in the long run.

This is my sister's first time to go, so I really want her to fall in love with it so I'll have someone else to go with me sometimes!

Glad to hear that about the trundle rooms at POR! There will be 6 of us (me, ds12, dd10, Katie, my sister, and her ds7) in one for 7 nights in June! Some on the TGM boards were talking about how small and uncomfortable they are, but they were comparing them to the Poly! Out of my price range! We don't spend much time in the room, and I'm excited about trying a mod, and the kids getting a nicer pool with a slide.

Ds12 is mad about not staying at All Star Sports again. That is where we stayed on our 1st 2 trips, and loved it! The 2nd time, they had just refurbed all the rooms, and they are nice. We would stay there again, but I got a code that made it affordable, then talked my sister into going, so we would fit anyway. I'm excited about the boat to DTD too.

We stayed at ASSports right after the refurb too. Loved it! Rooms were beautiful, but I never want to see the inside of a Value again unless it's a suite or adjoining rooms (with 5 people).:thumbsup2

Adi..so sorry to hear of your medical troubles. Hope you feel better soon! I had an appy too, but mine was backwards. I was going in for a laproscopy to check for endo. and turned out that I had acute appendicitis. On top of that, my appendix was pushed down into my uterus. If it had burst...may never have had kids. I call that my miracle surgery.;)

Anyway, get better soon. If you need a little help with breastmilk, there's a tea called Mother's Milk that you can buy that should help increase production. Since my milk supply has been going away, I was going to try it, but it appears that Luca is ready to wean anyway. He's digging the whole milk a lot!:rotfl:

Tell your Mom a room is only for sleeping! I would stay in a tent to go to Disney (although we love camping and would love to stay in a tent anywhere:rotfl2:)!

What about All-Star Movies? It's just themed with the characters!:goodvibes

How were the teething twins last night? Luca actually slept until a little after 6 this morning.:woohoo:Too bad the other two were up a half hour before that.:scared1:

We chose Pop because Alex looked at all the resorts and just went CRAZY for Pop. That sounds stupid.. doesnt it? We chose a hotel because my 7yo liked. it. :lmao::lmao: We might actually have her convinced to stay at the Pop. I ran the numbers for her, and it will save her a ton to stay there instead of POR.. We would rather stay at the POR, but two rooms there would be TOOOO much.

Were are doing a package deal for one room... Dh, me, and the older kiddos.. So we can have the dining package and all that. And the other room we are booking with the room only discount. It is only $150 or so more then booking a package deal at the POR. Crazy huh?

All I have to say about the twins is that we are seriously considering sending them to the gypsies..:headache: I have been all night every dang day this week. :headache: AND I had to deal with my husband last night. He has today off, so he tried to "help" last night.. Its lovely that he tried, but I have a system, you know? he just got in my way!:lmao: I finally just sent him to bed.

Not stupid at all! We stayed at AS Sports our first trip because ds12's 9th birthday was that week and I let him pick from all the pictures. The 2nd trip, dd10 wanted to stay at Pop, so I booked there 1st. Then a good deal came out, and I saved like $400 by switching back to Sports. She wasn't happy, but it was too much money to pass up!

Adi.. OMG!! How awful for you.

Thank you, I needed the hug :)

Yuck, that stinks. Hope you feel better soon. I had an appy in college that ended up not being my appendix after they sent it to pathology. I remember the recovery was pretty rough for the first week in terms of gas pains and such. I can't imagaine going through that AND having to care for a baby! I hope that your milk rebounds. Aren't there some herbal supplements that are supposed to increase your supply?

Good luck.

Mine was perforated, so it was for sure that. That made things more complicated because of the infection - which lead to fever, etc. Thankfully I am past that point. Although I am afraid now the insane amounts of antibiotics I was given is starting to make me allergic to it - I'm getting itchy - :scared1:

Adi--Hope the milk issues are doing better today. Your body will react and start making more milk, don't worry the LO won't starve, it might just be a couple of difficult days. ( I sound like a know-it-all).

Thanks, I think my milk is up today. The midwife told me yesterday that I just had to go cold turkey - no more bottles of milk. That she was old enough to know, and that hunger would win out. It seems like she got the memo. We have had some crying fits, but she's been eating pretty well. Last night she did pretty well even, hoping tonight goes as well, but not counting on it because it is "cold" for Florida and we don't have heat (it is 38 degrees right now). Last night she last nursed at 11pm, and slept until 5am, then again at 8am and then 11am - so a fantastic night. Ok, I'll stop rambling now! I hope it continues to go this well!

Wow - Miracle surgery indeed! I took some mother's milk early on (when the baby was a couple weeks old) because everyone kept making me question if she was getting enough (I got a bunch of "you're starving her"). But then once she was gaining weight well and whatnot I stopped (I didn't like the taste either). I drank a few glasses cold at the hospital (DH brought me some). THANKS!

Patsy, Katie doesn't have any teeth yet! I keep expecting to see a nub every day. And when she wants to be held......she gets held. She is so spoiled. I guess that is the danger of having an "old" mother!
I can't believe Katie doesn't have any teeth yet! Hopefully that doesn't mean they're all going to come in at once.

Lucas never got held because it hurt me to hold him! He was so big and he's wiggled from the beginning and the first few times I tried to "cuddle" and he kicked me around the c-section...:scared1:... I gave up! I cuddled from a distance. :rotfl:
So he's definitely not used to being held by me but all of a sudden he wants me! All the time! :confused3

AT least in Florida once you certify, you do not have to re-certify until after the baby is born, so that raise wouldn't matter until after the new baby is here ;) After the baby I re-certified and we don't have to again until the baby's 1! So even of things change, we get those WIC checks until October. Not sure how they do it in other states.

Did I miss news about the u/s I was looking, but didn't see any.

I have to re-certify every 4 months. But I did the math and as long as what we are anticipating his raise to be is right, we'll still be under by $208 dollars.
So as long as nothing changes with the VA (though I'm betting it will, DH's case goes to court in February) we will be sitting in WIC-land for awhile! :goodvibes

I go to my OB's office for a "nurse check" on the 21st but the receptionist told me that they'll give me an order for "testing" to determine a due date at that appointment. I would figure that means an order for an ultrasound and if it doesn't, I'll ask for one. If I'm the one paying for it I don't see why they'd have any issue ordering one for me.
My appt. for my annual was already scheduled w/ the OB herself on the 26th so I am just keeping that appointment. :thumbsup2

...and I think that catches me up!
I went to TRU tonight to use a gc someone gave Lucas for Christmas and take advantage of this $5/$25 purchase coupon I had.
Got a ton of Drop-In nipples for kiddo #2. Hopefully this one will like the bottles just as much as Lucas does. :upsidedow

My mom said yes to Pop Century!!!:cool1: She likes how much cheaper it is. :lmao: And she totally understands us wanting two rooms.. YAY! I am looking forward to this trip much more now.

We have to re-certify for wic every 6 months.. I go in every three months for checks.

We've let our then 3 year old pick before too!:lmao:

I hope this next week goes better for you! Luca was up a lot last night and found tooth #8 this morning. How many more do we have to go????:rotfl:

We have to re-certify for wic every 6 months.. I go in every three months for checks.

Wow! I have to go monthly to get them within a certain time frame of a few weeks... If I fail to show 3 times I am banned from WIC! :rotfl:

Also, Lucas has to be with me or I don't get the checks.

Luckily the WIC office for the county is about a 5m drive for me at the local health department building.
Parking can be annoying- they are right next to a train track and the only parking is underneath the tracks. Very weird.

Oh!

DH and I were in the mall yesterday and noticed JCPenny had some clearance signs up.

They had an extra 40% off already reduced clearance- I got Lucas a ton of shirts and pants for $2.39 each ranging from 24m-4t!

They also had some PJs, various prices. Plus, a really nice winter coat with a fleece lining and a detachable hood for $14.99 (got it 18m)

We got him a pair of fleece PJs with Mario all over them! They were too cute. :rotfl:

They had a ton of stuff! Some super cute dresses for little girls and tons of the seperates for $2.39!!

I found out Lucas was a "he" a year ago today. Totally crazy! And who'd of thought I'd be waiting on another ultrasound a year later? :rotfl:

THAT is crazy! I get three months worth of checks at a time, and I only have to bring the babies to the apt. when we re-certify. The other appointment I just run in and get checks from the receptionist.

I thought it was sorta weird, too. Sounds like other states definitely have more liberal policies for WIC!

It's not a huge deal at the end of the day though... I'll have Lucas all the time so he'd be with me anyway.
We opted for me to not take any classes I have to physically attend so we could save up money and put them both in daycare next Spring. :scared1:

That and I really need to baby proof this house. Lucas will be crawling before I know it.. he's got the basics just hasn't put together all the pieces yet.

Glad to hear she's nursing for you! And very glad that I decided not to try the tea!:scared1::rotfl:
Thanks - the tea isn't the worst thing ever, but I sure don't like it!

Interesting. I pick up checks every two months - and re certify either after baby is born or after a year apparently (it is what it says on my card).

I love the new changes - whole grains, $ for fresh fruits/veggies. Only thing that I didn't like was that you can now only get apple juice, grape juice, pineapple juice, orange juice or grapefruit juice. We used to be able to pretty much get any juicy juice, now we can only get grape or apple from juicy juice.

Baby proofing.. YIKES! I still havent done that yet. We still have some gates up from when my oldest was a baby... and that is about all we have done. Oh well.. We are moving into a four bedroom hopefully next month, so no point in doing anything now!

I thought the fresh fruit thing was pretty cool, too. I ate tons of cantaloupe when I was pregnant with Lucas. The grocery store that was within walking distance of my house sold it freshly cut for $1.99/lb. It was cheaper to buy it that way than to buy the cantaloupe and do it myself most of the time! :rotfl:

Now I want cantaloupe! Eek!

We only drink orange, apple and grape so it's not a huge deal to me but according to the WV WIC site I can get any Juicy Juice. However, I thought BIL's gf told me that they revised it and Juicy Juice was out so I'm confused.

Maybe they haven't updated the website? Hm. It does say "Revised 2007" so I bet they have just not updated it.

I still don't go for my appointment until Friday but the lady said that as long as I can show proof of the information they collected over the phone I'll get my stuff that day. :)

I forget who but someone told me to mention diaper deals if I see them..

It's definitely not a great one but it's not terrible.

Rite Aid has Huggies on sale for 8.99 with a $1 rebate back.
Huggies mailed out a bunch of $3 coupons a few weeks back so if you have those it makes it about $5/pack.
Annoying thing is though that you can only do one rebate per address... so like I said, not terrible but not great.

I'm only going to bother because I have a Rite Aid GC...normally for one package I wouldn't bother. Hoping some more diaper deals come out soon!

Thanks! I am starting to run low, maybe a a couple month's left at tops with my supply. :rotfl: I don't usally use huggies but now that DD is older and out of swaddlers I don't mind them all that much.

Now to get DS5 out of his pull-up's at night:scared1: any idea's for nightime training the older one's?

With WIC in NH you get the vouchers every 3 months and recertify every 6 months or if there is a change. It used to be that you had to go in every month to pick up the vouchers. I'm lucky that DH can do the WIC runs and get the vouchers, with working fulltime I would never be able to make it.
