ok... we have never visited disneyland before but last year my son was diagnosed with aspergers syndrome, he goes to a mainstream school with full time 1 to 1. He has tried so so hard this year and has come such a long way we decided he deserved a special treat. We were trying to tie this in with his birthday as it always falls during half term but seeing as its been shifted this year it will be the week before...we are planning a birthday cake at cafe mickey anyway (although Im thinking 3 of us and 1 cake plus fast rides )

Luckily for us we could only afford to stay at the santa fe.. I had no idea it had been given a cars make over.....I say lucky for us as for the past 3 years my sons obsession has been Cars. You know what kids are like when they get into something, children with aspergers are like that but times 10 :lmao: Because of this we always have to drag his cars bedding wherever we go, its gonna be delightful to go on holiday and not have to take our own linen for once!

We will also be flying with Alex for the first time so have been doing lots of prep work with him (he needs to be prepared for everything) as well as sorting out a doctors note to get an easy access pass (£25 it cost me :rolleyes1) he is ok with waiting, its just the closeness of other people, noises, smells etc which distress him.Better prepared I say!

so yeah, thats about it I think, I am very very excited..my husband goes a bit vacant when I start rambling about plans so its nice to be able to share them :cheer2:

I can understand that Cars obssesion :lmao: got two at home. after seeing Cars 2, they forgot Buzz and Bolt and are now all day screaming Lightning McQueen. They sleep in Cars pyjamas, wear Cars styled tops, underwear, socks... Oh, and take McQueen cars to bed. Oh my..

Your son should love Cars ride in studios :thumbsup2

hope you have a fantastic trip. we'll be there 13 - 16 Feb and are planning on eating at Cafe Mickey, if we see you there and you look like you're struggling with the cake we'll be more than happy to help ypu out :rotfl:

this is such a brilliant site because no-ones eye glaze over when you start talking "Disney" it's so grest to find other people that share my obsession!! really looking forward to reading the rest of your pre-tripee and hopefully a TR when you come back xx (we're from Hanpshire as well so are propably neighbours!)

Glad you came to share your plans even if Hubby wont listen we are glad to! Mine is the same I have given up telling him lol!

so close now, only 2 sleeps, majority of stuff packed and I battled my phone phobia to book a meal and cake at cafe mickey.

Airport social story read several times with my son, who seems to be increasing in noise level daily and overusing the word 'charming'..yeah, hes excited:goodvibes

also have ended up saving about 250 euros more than I planned too yay

Sounds like you are going to have a great trip and extra spending money is always a bonus :goodvibes
