The Green Flag large boats can easily hold 100+ guest, and you may roll a stroller on board. They aren't as large as the Ferry's over on The Seven Sea Lagon, but still a good size.

The smaller Blue Flag boats run between the Resorts CR/WL/Ft.Wilderness Campground you will have to fold-up your stroller for the smaller boats, they can hold 30+ but are rarely that crowed.

Does WL concierge send out a form to fill out to request PSs and other arrangements I'd like them to make? When we were staying at the Polynesian concierge I got something in the mail that I was able to fill out with all of our requests and mail back to them. Just wondering if I can expect the same with WL concierge.

Also, I don't care about a MK/castle/Wishes view from my room on the 7th floor, I'd prefer to have a king bed, courtyard view, and lobby room. Does this room exist? Are there are any courtyard and lobby rooms on the 7th floor?

Thanks! :)

My DS5 just sprainged his ankle. We will be at WDW in 6 days. He cannot put any weight on it. I am trying not to stress out. I have decided not to postpone the trip. We will just have to adjust and find him a stroller big enough for him. Who knows maybe he will heal quickly and be able to walk a little by next week. I know that this is not the end of the world and that others have it much worse. It just puts a wrench in our plans. Any advice to make things easier would be appreciated. ;)

:grouphug: Bummer! Hope your DS isn't too bummed out too- or in much pain. Kids- the ultimate in unpredictability!!!

At least at age 5- being in a stroller won't be such a big deal- you might even be able to have longer days since he won't get tired from walking!

Your countdown time is most enviable!!

Good luck but I'm sure you will all have a great time!!

Maybe you can get him to think of THIS as a game : the fastest stroller ever !!! AND ;) you will bypass any waiting line having him on a strolley !!!!!!

SURELY he and you all will have a lot of MAGIC anyway !!!!!!
Cast members are JUST WONDERFUL with people "with problems".

Just make sure that he stay's off it as much as possable...it should heal in a week to ten days.

Yes the concierge at Wilderness Lodge will make your PSs and other arrangements you will need to notify them if for some reason they don't contact you don't wait to long.

The only rooms off the lobby are the Honeymoon suits they have King size beds but no Courtyard view. So nope there are no Courtyard and Lobby rooms on the 7th floor.

Hi Everyone, I just found this FAQ and I have been trying to read every single post. My wife and I stayed at the WL in April of 2002 and absolutely fell in love with it (naturally). Anyway, we are going back first week of October this year and are thinking of splurging on concierge. This trip will be much more relaxed and laid back since we will be taking our DS for first time (he will be almost 1 1/2). I apologize if this question is answered, if so I couldn't find it. Does the seventh floor have the same number of rooms as floors 1-6? It seems I read somewhere that the 7th floor does not extend all the way down the wings. I am curious how many rooms have concierge access. Thanks again for the info and I hope to have a lot to contribute to this thread in future!

Today we are in the middle of a blizzard with 28 inches of snow and we still have 7 more hours left of the storm. Normally this would depress me but not when I am going to WDW next Sunday. People have been saying that it has been cold at the world but it is 10 degrees here. Low 60's sounds like heaven to me. I can't wait to walk into the Lodge.

...is that, even if the FLA weather is not 'up-to-par', the WL is THE place to be and the cooler weather just lends to a more authentic atmosphere! After all, how awesome is it to visit a park during the day and 'come home' to relax with a cup of hot cocoa next to roaring fire????

Ok--I think I have read most of this thread and even some of the others.... :earseek:
Has anyone senttheir kids to the cubs den? I have a DD10 and DS7 and I am most concerned they not watch tv all evening. Can you tell me what other activities they have? Also, they will be there for Valentine's Day--how many kids can they take and how many adults are there to supervise? Any info you have would be great.

Thank you Beckie, Liz and Laura for your replies. I plan on keeping him home from school and off his feet for the rest of the week. I have decided that this will not ruin our trip. It will just add a little drama. We plan on taking it easy this vacation and he should be able to swim if temps are right.

Welcome to the DIS and the WL FAQ Thread mdrob214!!

I'll take a quick stab at answering some of your question. My DD and I 'visited' the Cub's Den when we were at the WL back in Dec- they often have 'Open House' hours with crafts going on during the day for kids (with parents). These 'Open House' hours are a great way to check out the Den and meet the staff.

My recollection is that they have video games, big TV for movies, misc building kind of toys and lots of misc craft and art stuff. They also serve dinner if your kids are there during the dining hour.

When we went to the 'Open House' I had a chance to chat with the staff person. Unfortunately, I don't remember their exact capacity and staffing ratio but I remember thinking that is was solid given the age group they take (no babies). The Cub's Den is a smaller capacity Kid's Club so it seems very cozy and comfortable. The Club over at the Poly (Neverland Club) has a 96 (I think) capacity- which seemed like total craziness!! They too were staffed accordingly.

I have heard nothing but positive feedback from other DISers who have dropped their kid's off at the Cub's Den.

If you are interested, you should definately make a reservation to ensure they will have a space for your kids.

Have a great trip!!

Hi Tara,

Hope your son's ankle is getting better. But I wanted to add some re-assurance that getting a stroller is something you might want to do anyway. They're pretty awesome! When my Dsis & I took my DS & her DD for the 1st time they were both 6. We put in some really long days so broke down & rented a double stroller. It was actually big enough to seat my other sister who is a very petite 4'10". The kids had a blast in the stroller. We were there during a very slow time so could 'race' a little when no one was around. Plus it was perfect for watching parades - parked right up against the rope & we stood behind. It's also a comfy seat for fireworks! Plus it also had space to hang our bags - which actually made us disappointed when the kids outgrew it by the next trip, LOL! So don't worry, you'll have a GREAT time anyway!

I wish I could get away from this awful weather too! I usually love winter, but for some reason, this year it's just plain depressing. We had a little more than a foot of snow (not quite as bad as you!) plus the 'snow showers' we're now having have already planted another inch & it's supposed to continue till at least 8:00. It was supposed to be 20 degrees today, but it never got higher than 13. Worst of all, the blower on the heater in my car broke so it's essentially like having no heat & my mechanic is booked solid for the next few weeks. #@^%&#^ Sorry to vent...

Tons of pixie dust coming your way for a fabulous time - AND a speedy recovery for your son's ankle!!!

I agree with you. We have about a foot here(chicago). And I am about done. I wonder if it is because I know I will be going to DW soon? And this morning when I went to get in my car to go to work....I had a flat tire. Now some of you might be handy (or even have a handy DH) but I am/have not. So... I had to call for a tow truck just to get my spare off. Yuck!!! All that kept me going was thinking "soon I will be with the Mouse...soon I will be with the Mouse!!"
Hope you get your heat fixed soon. And here is some pixie dust so my bad luck doesn't rub off on anyone. :wizard:

<marquee>Welcome to the DIS, greatgonzo!!</marquee>

I'm sorry, but I can't answer your question (Are there the same number of rooms on the 7th floor as on floors 1-6?). I'm sure a WL expert will come to your rescue!

:wave2:

They do arts and crafts, play video games, interact with other children, have dinner, and watch TV. As it gets later, they break out little cushions with pillows and blankets in case the kids want to go to sleep.

My 4 year old daughter loved it last trip. We will definately use them again.

I'll give it to you but take note that you are not really in contact with the cast members that are on the 7th floor at WL. You will be in touch with the IPO (Itenerary Planning Office).

This is a place that does nothing but trip planning for concierge and VIP guests.

Concierge Planning Email:
WDW.WLodge.Itinerary.Planning@disney.com

Enjoy!

The 7th floor does not have the same number of rooms as it is only in the "towers" and does not extend out to the wings. (The wings only go to the 6th floor)

Keep in mind that it also houses the Presidential and Vice Presidential plus 4 honeymoon suites.

If for some reason the 7th floor is full, they can make arrangements for you to be on a different floor and still have card key access to the concierge floor via the elevator.

Thank you! :wave2: And yes I do realize that the planning office CMs are not the same CMs who are actually in the concierge at the WL. :)
