Hi! Is there a pic anywhere of a hidden Mickey that I could print and use for my DIS circle journal (scrapbooking)? I've never looked for hidden Mickeys  , but I need to do a layout about one, so I thought I'd see if there was a pic of one at the WL that I can try to find the next time I'm there! :) Thanks!

Here's a picture of a hidden Mickey that I took during our stay last Aug-Sep. I cropped the photo, hopefully you can see it better. Our room was directly to the left of the pole.

For the woods or even standard view, I would recommend being in the North Wing by the boat dock. We overlooked a little pond with some trees and then the lake beyond that. One night we were able to see the fireworks, and we were so close to the boat dock and a door to the pool. We enjoyed that location, especially since it was cheaper!

:welcome: to our 'humble' lodge...questions always invited (hey, if ya can't come HERE, :confused3 where CAN ya go to ask a question about our favorite place!) You might wanna try the link below - it has various balcony views...good luck! :thumbsup2

Thank you for the help and welcome! I just noticed that you are from Bergen County - that's so funny! So am I! :teeth: It is a small world! :wave2:

This thread got me all excited for a Woodsview room, I felt knowledgeable... and eager with anticipation - and then that darn free dining promotion - and when I called, no WL rooms available for the promotion...

called back THIS morning, and she found us a Courtyard Room - so now I need to redo all my thinking!!

My question is - what is the advantage of Courtyard rooms? Y'all sold me on the quaintness of Woodsview, I now feel disappointed, and havent even left yet!! *grin

Please don't at all feel disappointed about a courtyard view. Although we've never stayed with a woods view, we all prefer the courtyard view. If you like the quaintness of the woodsview, maybe ask for the outer courtyard which faces the villas. It is pretty peaceful on that side. Requesting innercourtyard directly by silver springs will put you away from the pool. We prefer the courtyard view because you can enjoy the relaxing sound of the silver springs, enjoy bay lake and the scenery all together. :)

I have had this thread in my subscribed file for ages meaning to read through it and finally started today on my lunch hour. I would just like to echo the opening comments of Majestic. During our two stays at the lodge (soon to be three) we often sit in the lobby and just listen to the quite noise of the resort. It really does feel like home as soon as we reach our resort (really any Disney resort except AKL - sorry AKL lovers, it was just not for us) but the WL is def our fave. There is no where else on earth where we are so completely relaxed than a Disney resort. So to all the people who look at me like I am nuts and say "Disney again?" I just say I am sorry they just don't get it.

We will be staying here for the 1st time 4/23-4/30,I'm still wondering what to request. We booked courtyard and req'd bunkbeds with ajoining for nanny and Papa.We have two small kids(5&2yrs old)what are some ideas for us.I'm confused with north south wing which is which?Any input from the experts will be taken.

The North Wing is the side that, as you walk through the main entrance..is to the left .. that would include all rooms on the same side at Whispering Canyon..and the south wing would include all those rooms on the same side of the resort as the check-in area and the Mercantile. So..after you got off main elevators to go to your room..for north side you would make a right past the lobby..for south side, you would not pass the lobby getting off the elevators, but would make a left. I know..probably confusing :confused3

I've never had a standard room without a balcony. I'm not sure if there are any that do not have one however :confused3

Thanks, but i'm curious as to Kimmer's pictures (the link she posted has awesome photos ) I have no idea what/where... well, the where, she posted the room numbers, but as to whether those pictures were of courtyard or woodsview - I hate to assume, but based on my limited knowledge, they seem to be facing pools, so would that make them courtyard?

sorry to confuse

Hi everyone  . We are staying at the WL for the first time this coming May. One of my concerns is that we live in the northeast and from posts on other threads, i.e. I live in the northeast so I won't stay at the WL, have me concerned about our choice. I'm not a woodsy kind of gal but the few people I know who have stayed there absolutely love it. Do you think because I do see trees everyday that I may be making a big mistake?

Also, I from reading the last few pages of this thread I see that rooms are being rehapbed. We arrive on May 6th, do you think any new rooms will be ready by then, and if so do CM get upset on check in if you asked for a rehabed room? We have a courtyard room and requested a king bed, but I would give up the king bed for a new redone room, if I had the choice.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Hello there Naugatuck! Is it snowing at your house today too???

I live in Litchfield County surrounded by woods and WL is our absolute favorite resort.

FYI on a solo trip I requested a king room. It was on the ground floor and handicap accessible with a roll in shower but no tub. It was a woods view on the south side. I ended up changing my room because it was a very long walk to the room from the elevator bank and without my family I felt it was too remote for a solo. I was given an upgrade to a courtyard but it had two queen size beds instead. That was a short walk from the elevator and that was much better for me that trip.

It is a great resort. I absolutely don't think you can go wrong!

Enjoy! :goodvibes

Some of those views are woods..some are courtyard. The pool area where you see green roof..is the Lodge Courtyard.. where you see red roof and pool is the Villas Courtyard (viewable from lodge itself). The streams..Lodge Courtyard. Where you see trees and no roof, like castle and Contemporary..is woods view. I hope that helps.

Hi, all the rooms at Wilderness Lodge have either a patio (if on the ground floor) or balcony.

DH woke me up at 6 this morning and said look outside it's snowing and the cars are covered. Last week I'm sitting on the patio reading and getting a tan and today I'm back in sweatshirts LOL. Gotta love New England!

Thanks for your post. Now I'm less nervous about our choice. You definitly have more trees to look at than I do.
