Anyone have any updated information on the renovations/updating of the rooms at WL.
I heard lot of rumors a few months ago but not much lately.
Have they started on the 7th floor rooms yet?

Hi, hope everything has been going good for your family. Fred is down at the World now he should be checking into the Wilderness Lodge tomorrow morning. You know he will be checking with Mark and should have all the 411 when he returns.

I'm going down Thursday morning and plan to meet with him and his family. I'll be sure to ask him to post all good rumors when he returns as he will be headed home before me.

If anyone else has any question please post them so between Fred and I we can let you know on our return.

That is very nice of you Beckie!
We have decided on WL for our next trip and I think it looks like a wonderful hotel. Very excited about everything I've read so far.
So far now I've read every post in part 5 and half of part 1 and I think I give up looking for the information I want.
We would like a deluxe room which I understand are mostly on the end of each wing. I'd like to know if there is a room that we'd be able to see to see the fireworks from or the water parade. ;)

Hi, sure the Deluxe Rooms at the end of the South Wing have great views of Bay Lake and The Electrical Water Pageant is nightly at 9:35p.m. on Bay Lake. (Note: May be canceled due to inclement weather.) Some of the Deluxe Rooms on the North Wing have obstructed (trees) views of Bay Lake.

The Deluxe Rooms are facing in the wrong direction to view the fireworks.

Thank you Beckie! Do you know how many floors are at the ends of the wings? Is it still seven?

Leaving in 3 days and wanted to know...can I check into WL on Sunday at 7:00 AM, water launch to MK and take the monorail to Epcot and thus skip the buses?

Yes you can do that, but it may be better to water launch to the Contemporary (blue flag boat) and then hop on the monorail. Have a great time!!

The 7th floor (concierge) does not go all the way to the end of the wings, but I think the 6th does.

I would hop whatever boat gets there first and is heading in that directiion (in other words not going to fort w first - unless you don't mind the scenic ride - which we never do :) have fun!

Yes, but you can't get the monorail to Epcot at MK....you have to go from MK to TTC (via monorail or ferry) and then catch the monorail there.

Well, what's the quickest way to Epcot from WL? Is there some secret to it? I really don't like going to the TTC.

The quickest way is by taking the bus. No doubt about it. Otherwise you have to take the boat to the Contemporary....walk from the boat dock to the monorail....take the monorail to the TTC...switch to the EPCOT line of the monorail. I think this would take twice as long as the bus.

Wow, I did it! I read all 123 pages! :cool1:
Now I just wish I had a trip coming up so I could use all this information. Probably not until April 2007. Hope everyone going on trips has no lines, great weather, and lots of fun!

OK, after reading 123 pages, I have a question...
Do any of the Villas have bunk beds? I was thinking of the 1 bedroom Villa, and was just curious.

Agreed. If you're looking for fastest and not 'scenic' then the bus is the best (no transfers!).

This maybe the last post I have time for before I leave for WDW, tomorrow morning... :bounce:

No the One Bedroom Villas have a King Size bed in the Master Bedroom and a Queen size sofa-sleeper in the living area. No Bunk Beds in any of the DVC properties.

Thank you so much for replying Beckie!

I really appreciate it. Especially since you are probably so busy getting ready for your trip. Have a fantastic time! I hope you have great weather, no lines, and great food.

I wish I was going myself.

...be really careful driving....[sending PD your way]..... :wizard: ....say "hi" to Fred....

Hi All!!! Just wanted to send out a big Thank You!!!! We just got back from a 15 hour drive....left WL room 6129 this AM at 515!!! All I can say now is that WL has 2 converts!! It was beautifull!!! We had a blast!! Rode the sea racyers and bikes, got in the pool with all the DUCKS and hot tubs, ate at Roaring Forks & WCC, and of course rubbed Humphreys nose! We are going back in the Spring and for our anniversary. Exchanged our tickets for APs. I am still in awe!!! Thanks to everyone for advising us to stay at WL and for making out honeymoon fantastic!!! Tired must get some sleep!!

You are on vacation. Don't stress. Give yourself extra time and take the bus.

That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it. :)

Fred
