I am glad to hear of your wonderful stay! We'll be heading to the lodge in less than a month!! We booked a Woods View and requested a room that opens onto the Lobby, 6th Floor-- so maybe we can get a MK view, too!

I also wanted to check my countdown clock!

P.S. HellOOOOOOO WL Lovers :teeth: !!

Well, I just got back myself from another wonderful stay at WL... :cloud9:

I must say it was a great place to recover from the marathon!!! :cool1: LOL

I had a wonderful room...6143 - inside courtyard view...overlooking the pool and the lake off in distance. I could see the Geyser go off from the balcony...it really was lovely...(2 queen beds for those of you who want to know)

Sadly though, my favorite bartender is no longer working at TL...now I have to break in a new one... lol

...time to set up an OFFICIAL countdown thingie in my siggie.... :Pinkbounc My sis, AspiringCindy, looked on the 'net' and helped me get a price of $68 going/$139 return out of Atlantic City to MCO!! Yippee, I dreaded that 19 hr. drive.....

I booked a woods view room and requested a lobby room, too. I didn't mention anything about a certain floor, though. Should I call back and request a specific floor? I don't really care about the view, I just don't want anything yucky such as a loading area, employees smoking area, trucks backing in and beeping, etc. That's why I booked woods view, hoping to avoid that. Anything above those views would be great. I requested the lobby part because my DH mentioned it, and I think it'd be fun to open your door and see down into the lobby! We won't have DSs with us, and don't go to bed early, so I wouldn't even mind if it was a "noisy" area.

I'll be waiting to hear which room you got when you get back, and whether you liked the location or not :)

for the new bg music loops..anyone know where we can find em...#disney-central seems a little deserted recently

thanks

Back from three lovely nights at the Lodge. Rubbed Humphrey's nose and kept an eye out for Fred (didn't see him).

We had room #5034, which has a perfect, unobstructed view of the castle! However, it is also next to a service area, so mornings on the balcony consisted of more that the sound of birds and boats. The rooms farther down the hall would be better for sound reasons, but then you see the castle through the trees, so you need to figure which is more important to you. We watched WISHES from the balcony Wednesday night and only a few fireworks were seen through the trees, the ones that go off closest to the castle and the very high ones were not blocked at all. I loved traveling by boat, the only bus we used was to MGM on two mornings, one of the waits was a little over 15 mins (I think we had just missed a bus) the other was around 10.

I checked in around 11:15 and the CM helped me select this room and it wasn't ready at that time (didn't expect it to be). I checked on the status several times and by 3:15 it still wasn't ready so I went to guest services (mostly because we need to get ready for an early dinner). Scott at guest services got a hold of the housekeeping supervisor, sent us off to Roaring Forks for a beverage 'on him' and the room was ready by the time we had our cola break.

One of the highlights: Had breakfast departure day at Whispering Canyon and our CM was Uncle Dave, of the famed "see ya/love ya/mean it" Delswife epic trip report! He's a hoot!

Recommendations I would make to Disney for this resort: MORE HOOKS IN THE BATHROOM. Jeeze, POP had three! Also I was expecting an upgrade in toilet paper quality from the values. The common area bathrooms in GF and BC had upgraded paper....why not this 'deluxe' too? So if you're 'sensative' better add good tp to your grocery stop list!

Just took some time to view the new photo's that you added to your collection WONDERFUL, glad to see a photo with you and Humphrey. Talked to Fred yesterday and we both agreed the Ol Hump's noise is in need of a new coat of varnish. It's great to know so many join us in our little Magical ritual.

I'm sorry but I didn't understand your post (bg music loops?) I know that you where there over Christmas and the Lodge does play a different music loop with Christmas music added to some of the original tunes but I'm not sure if there is a list. The Mercantile may have the information, next trip I'll check but I won't be back until March. (sorry)

PS ibouncetoo I agree about the TP but the type used is an environmental issue, Disney has their very own waste management system and the paper they use has to be biodegradable so softness it's the first concern.

I call it the John Wayne Toilet Paper "Cause it rough, it tough, and don't take no **** from anyone." (sorry if that offended anyone)

HOOKS!!! yes the one in the bathroom didn't do it

that was my ONLY complaint about the room - which I suppose isn't bad - it's really only a minor thing

Just wanted to check my count-down clock. And, oh yeah, I just purchased a 10-day MYW, Hopping and No exp!! I'll use 4-5 days on this trip!

I hope everyone is having a good new year so far!

Just changed our reservations to Concierge!! DH and I were just looking through some of Majestic's WL pics, we are SO psyched to stay here now! :)

Can anyone tell me all about WL's CL?? Any rooms to avoid, or to request?? From what the CM told me, concierge has a mix of room views, but I requested courtyard. Any other helpful hints?? Thanks :sunny:

Your request sounds good to me...I love all the views at WL. When I stayed on the 7th Floor (concierge) my room was in the NorthWing that had a view of the CR and Magic Kingdom, loved being able to watch WISHES every night from the balcony. It was located over the delivery area so if you stood at edge of the balcony and looked straight down the view wasn't so great, so I didn't look straight down :earboy2:

Fred should be posting soon as he has just returned from the Lodge. I'm sure he has taken more photo's of the 7th floor. He had a Courtyard View this trip.

Hope your trip is MAGICAL.

Guess what?! This is the same TP as used in the 14th floor concierge rooms at the CR.

Our Room - 7056 - we were originally assigned a courtyard view across the hall but we asked if we could have a magic kingdom view instead - and they had one - we got to see Wishes whenever we were in the room.

Any questions???

Help me know which view to request, please! We're reserved as Courtyard View. (2 rooms) I was under the impression that there was no chance of seeing MK fireworks. Sounds like I should request MK view? I wonder if the rate will increase?

Otherwise, I was planning to request to be on the ground floor with a room that walked out near the pool or grounds. I thought this would be good for my 4 young sons and nephews. Opinions please?

Yes, I remember you :wave2: It's nice to be back in the "old neighborhood" again :teeth: I've been spending all of my DIS time over on the Cruise boards for the last year, and I'm still there because we booked another Disney cruise for 2006 :)

I really can't wait to stay at the WL. I know DH and I will love it :)

Thanks for noticing my DSs! Yes, they've grown a lot since I've been on these boards. LOL As you can see, now THEY are taller than DH and I. LOL

Just wanted to see how much time was left. I can not wait. Everyone is getting tired of me talking about our trip. I am sure you all understand. :grouphug:

Hope everyone is having a great day.

Actually a Woods View with a view of the Magic Kingdom, would be less then a Courtyard View.(remember the Magic Kingdom View would be a request and not guaranteed) I prefer the Courtyard View whenever I stay, but I know a spot to go and see WISHES on the sixth floor.

WE've always had great rooms at WL, but never a view of MK or fireworks! What rooms shouls we request? Looks like 5034 and 7056 are good, but I doubt we'll get upgraded to Concierge. Any others.....or general areas....like "the upper floors in the 30's?"

 We have ressies's for WL in May. We have now gone ahead and bought AP's (that's good). Here is the thing. We will be returning in Dec 2005. I hear WL is beautiful that time of year. I was thinking of maybe changing our May ressie when the AP codes come out. Not to abandon the WL but to save it for the Dec. trip. What's your thoughts?
