Yes, those were the ones!! We saw them in the hall too, one day - then they were put in our room the next day. We were on the second floor -maybe they are working there way up?

(I think the pic over the round light was maybe a coyboy on a horse? When I download my pics I'll try to post one. My husband laughed when I took it and announced that the people on the Dis boards mgiht want to see them!)

It did add alot of light to the room too. :sunny:

Cool! I hope next time we get bunks and the new lights! I think we just missed getting them, since they were laying in the hall just a couple of doors down from our room.

I really liked the denim and suede drapes in the rooms - but they really made the room dark at night. SO easy (maybe too easy) to sleep in!! :)

Question on upgrades....it may have been answered here, but honestly, I don't know who would have the time to read this thread from start to finish to find out! I just upgraded to WL for my trip for 9/9-9/16. I upgraded just last week. I know my TA didn't make any specific requests, and I am booked in a standard room. From the posts I have read, it seems WL is very accomodating for upgrades. Is this something you just mention at check in? Do the quote you an increase in fee, or are they complimentary? I am just so excited to be going to the WL, but a better view would be fantastic!! Thanks for the info!

I booked a standard room in 2003. We were not upgraded at check-in as some people are. I know some people like standard rooms (for their fireworks view), but we didn't - too much truck noise and fumes (you are over the loading dock) when we first checked in. So I went downstairs, said I wasn't happy with my room, and asked if it could be changed. The CM left (presumably to check with a manager), came back and gave us a complimentary upgrade to a Woods View room. I would have paid for it, but they didn't ask me to.

This time around, I was not willing to chance an upgrade - and knew I didn't want to stay in a standard room - so I bit the bullet and booked a Woods View room to begin with. This was during the summer sale (I had an e-mail code, but Mousesavers had another code anyone could use) so I got $70 off/night, so it wasn't too painful. The extra money was worth the peace of mind to me that we would get what we wanted.

If you ask for an upgrade at check-in that has not been offered to you first by the CM, I think you have to pay for it. But maybe someone here has a different experience.

Hi,

All three of the basic room types are located with a Lobby View, Standard, Woods and Courtyard. My favorite room type is the Courtyard View off the Lobby. On page 1 of this thread is a great breakdown on the different type rooms available (Page 1-first post-toward the bottem) If you read this then look on the room location map you should be good to go. All request are just that and are not quarenteed.

Just click on the link below for a map of the room locations:

Most of the FAQ Resort Threads have been posting for years so they can seem intimidating. Here on the Wilderness Lodge Thread we have loads of great information located on page 1. If you will read page 1 the first few post...you will have more information then 90% of any guest. Then if you think of anything else just post the question as you did.

I have been upgraded many times, I always try and book Standard View if available, because I truly wouldn't mind any room at the Lodge. Cost isn't always a factor but I love receiving a great rate if I can get one. I have also booked every room type with the exception of the suits. I have been upgraded from Standard to Courtyard, Standard to Woods, Woods to Courtyard so I always hope for the best and take my chances. I haven't been charged for any of the upgrades I received.

MassMom's experience was a little different as she wasn't happy with her Standard View room, so she requested a change not a upgrade. The Cast Member then upgraged her to a Woods View which made her happy, and was a good business move.

Wilderness Lodge is very accommodating and do assign upgrades whenever possible, if they are given there hasn't ever been a charge. If you request a upgrade they could then quote you a price. But if you tell them you don't mind if they have to upgade you with a big smile when you arrive it would never hurt. Good luck on the room assignment and ask any questions you may have.

Come on!!! There are only a little over 4,000 posts in this thread. If you start reading now you should be done by Christmas :teeth:

Like Beckie said. If you have any questions just ask away. There is always someone around willing to answer.

Just wondering for those who have stayed recently, how is the transportation to MK doing? Are the boats just packed now? I am thinking it takes quite a while to take the bus-TTC route. We were also thinking about taking the boat to the CR and just walking from there, any thoughts?

Actually, I would guess that most guest that stay @ Wilderness Lodge have no idea that there was a direct bus to the MAGIC KINGDOM. The direct bus has been available for over a year and each time we have used it we were either the only group or maybe one other family were riding it. So I'm sure that the boat capacity hasn't really been effected much.

I have taken the Blue Flag Boat over to CR several times then just walked to MK, it was fun but unless the Green Flag Boat isn't running yet it's just as fast to wait on the next large boat.

I will be using the bus to TTC so I can jump on the EPCOT Monorail to the Food & Wine Festival. I have missed being able to take the monorail.

Hi all,

Do the new TVs at WL have inputs for a Play Station 2? I'm going to be going down in a couple of days and normally I wouldn't worry to much about in room entertainment but with the possibility of hurricanes I thought it would be nice to bring my PS2, some games and some DVDs.

Bill

I can't believe your trip is so soon...unfortunately (but fortunately for me) our last trip 2 months ago we stayed Concierge and the rooms hadn't been refurbished with the new flat screen TV's yet.

I know Jeannie dizneykid has stayed in one of the new rooms and her DH is a tekkies so maybe she will see your post and ask him. If noone else knows the answer.

Have a GREAT TRIP and beautiful weather.

We were there 8/25 -9/1 and never took the bus, always the boat. It wasn't ever what I would call packed, except maybe after MK closed, but it's always like that at that time.

I agree with Beckie that it is no faster to take the boat to the Contemporary and walk from there. Also, the walk from the Contemporary to the MK is not very magical - you start out on a busy street and then walk by all the MK bus stops. Have to say the walk from the Hard Rock Hotel to Universal Studios is much, much nicer!

BillSears,

Most any TV will have connections for PS2 and a DVD player, maybe not the high def inputs, but for sure the component ones. The TV would have to be from the late 80s or early 90s not to have this and be on the cheap side (they most likely wouldn't last this long). I'm sure even the old TVs at the WL will accomadate you. Definately the new ones will. I'm going on the 11th and am becoming increasingly worried about the hurricane myself :(

Heres to hoping it stays away!!! SHOOOOOOO

:wizard: <----maybe this lil guy can poof it away. :bounce:

Does anyone know the room numbers for the 4 Honeymoon Rooms? I have a friend who is looking at the map online and is curious. TIA.

Posted in a separate thread but figured you all might be the most interested...

Hoping this will help someone -

I have just cancelled 3 WL concierge rooms...2 for 12/1-3 and 1 for 12/1.

We've had 2 deaths in the family this week which require last-minute (read: expensive) flights and the $ has to come from somewhere so we traded down to less expensive rooms.

If someone is looking to snatch them up go ahead and call CRO - not sure when they put inventory back into the system - the ressies were through Small World travel - ask for Andrea Rollins - she's great.

Best, Jackie

Hi, girls!

Ava is doing GREAT! I'll post more info about her tomorrow on humphrey's home.

Ava will be staying with my sister during our trip. . .we planned on taking her, but Kristina and her husband asked enthusiastically to take care of her. So we are considering this next trip to be the last "just-the-two-of-us" vacation for a long time.
:wave2:

Thanks! I'll pack the PS2, some DVDs and Kingdom Hearts for just in case we're hurricaned in.

Hi Bill,

We haven't stayed in the new rooms yet (here we come October), but we were able to see one and Marcel (hubbie) was able to check out the TV.

Hubbie says: Yes, the new TV's have the 3 component front inputs (red, white and yellow). This will be good for your PlayStation 2. :happytv:

As for the older TV's it is a matter of getting to the inputs in the back, except places like Coronado Springs (where we recently stayed) TV's which had no inputs. TV's were very old. :badpc:

I do. They are 7085 and 7086 (Magic Kingdom side). And 7095 and 7096 (Villa Side). All four rooms open up to the lobby and are on the Club Level. :thumbsup2
