See ya at the Lodge!

Not sure if this the right place to ask (sorry if it isn't) does anyone know if the WL cups are the same as last year or even what I'm thinking is right? We'll be going in 14 days :cool1: and I was wondering if I can take my cups from last year. Has anyone every done this thanks for any help you can offer me :goodvibes

My next trip to WL looks like it will either be in Aug 2007 or Aug 2008. We are probably going to go with some extend family for the first time.

I'm really looking forward to hear from those going this month on how the crowd levels are this time of year. I know how hot it is since as a kid my family would visit WDW this time of year. But the last time I went in Aug was in 1992 and things are very different now.

I hope everybody leaving soon have great trips.....

Make sure to give Humphrey's nose a good rub :earsboy:

Ahhh, I am so jealous..I have to wait until December for my trip. I can't wait to see the newly refurbed rooms! December seems SO far away right now!

Every other year I go one of the last two weeks in August..as the crowds are low (many kids are back in school..mine don't go back until after Labor Day). It's hot..but I can take the heat..it's better than dealing with the crowds :) We used to alternate that with December. Last December though, it was very hard on my oldest DD who was 12 and in honors classes..since I won't even think about going Christmas week, we went the week before, and it was WAY too hard to make up that work for her :( On top of that she ended up breaking her leg shortly after that doing Tae Kwon Do..then was in the hospital for a blood clot/pneumonia..and she ended up missing way too much school for 2 semesters..so August it is :)

the WL mugs are the smaller version - the ones that fit in car cup holders - they no longer have the fatter bottomed mugs. Nothing has ever been said to me.
And I didnt say anything to the guy at BCMarketplace when he used his Typhoon Lagoon mug!

See you with your mug in 14days!

only 122 more days til our trip!

I booked my trip back in Jan, thru AAA. I stopped by today to see if we could arrive 1 day early, but the said we can't change our package. I tried adding 1 night, room only, but they said there is NO availability (dec 7). I then had them check the Grand, RPC, but its booked, too. (they did have sugarloaf available, but we wanted RPC)
Now I just have to decide where ELSE I might want to try to stay the first night....and hope they have something available.!

I haven't stayed here but I did want to chime in with my opinion. I was able to visit WL on our last trip in June. Out of all of the resorts that I have visited, I would have to say that WL is by far the most beautiful resort that I have seen. I can just hope to be able to stay there one day to experience what "deluxe" is really like. Just thought I would share!

We are arriving Mon Sept 25th and I was hoping we could eat at the WCC for dinner and then head over to MK for Spectromagic. Unfortunately it's all booked up. Does anyone know if there is a chance we could just walk up that day and see if we could get a table? I did go ahead and book at Tony's Town Square but I would much rather eat at WCC. I liked the option of eating at WCC in case we were tired and didn't even want to go out that night.

I noticed while looking at peoples posts that the bunk beds are different in two of the renovated rooms. In a Club room the Bunk beds look new and very sturdy, in the standard room they are the older type of bunks. Now both rooms have been renovated, why the difference? Aren't they changing out the bunk beds as well? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!!

I noted that also..it looks like Concierge has new bunks with "timber" looking posts..and the other rooms, the old frames are still there, just new bedding :confused3 I can tell you though..I never had a problem with the "sturdiness" of those bunks..my 13 and 10 year old slept on them last year..they are solid as a rock :)

You can try and walk up..I've done that before at WCC..but not when I couldn't get an ADR..but people don't show up for those ADR's all the time. It probably has to do with free dining. You can book at Tony's and if you get in at WCC..call from the lobby phone and cancel your Tony's :)

@LisaRN

Thanks for the info on August. I can put up with heat also. And by the time we do go again my two DD's will be 12 and 10 yrs old so they should be able to handle the heat ok also. We just have worry about avoiding those hurricanes!!!

That's what nice about going in Nov. my last two trips. The kids have off from school then (Jersey Week), the weather is great and the crowds are moderate. Since we are going to go with family that live in NY we have to pick a time when all the kids are off from school. I would think the best time to go would be soemtimes during the last two weeks of Aug. to avoid the early summer crowds.

We did this in February with no problem. I did make sure that we were there right at 5 p.m. when they opened, however.

Exactly! And 2 year ago..during our August trip..we were there during Hurricane Frances..but..it was an adventure and we still talk about it :) And though it did affect us for 2 days of our trip.. Disney was wonderful..and talk about low crowds right before and after..I think CRT was WALKUP! But...if a hurricane happens..it happens..I can't control that. I didn't ruin our whole stay.
