But do you think it's comfortable??? I have a feeling that your bag could easily be deemed "overfilled" by the TSA. (I hope not, but look at your photo vs the photo in the first post. In the first post you can see all of the lables and there is plenty of room for the TSA to move things....) I guess we will just have to wait on the first reports tomorrow.

She said as long as the bag closes without stretching/pulling and the items fit in without straining the bag in any place they are fine. So, there's the official answer - "straight from the horses mouth". So my test bag would be acceptable as there was quite a bit of spare room in it.

What makes me happiest is that I can take my COFFEE on the plane.
With a 7 am flight, I'm going to need at least one more dose of caffeine after I finish my first (large) cup in the gate area!

Did you get a name??? I am hoping this goes well, but considering that I know business travelers who rountinely have to show the TSA the web print outs for things like corkscrews.... I am curious as to how this goes....

Contacts were already approved under the medications exceptions, including up to 4 oz. of solution. Those items do not have to fit into your quart-sized "toiletries" bag.

I got Hawiian Tropic Baby Faces for my DS on our last trip and it came with a 2 oz travel size bottle attached which I'm refilling with my sunblock for this trip. I pretty much only worry about putting sunblock on my face since I don't wear shorts (never) and my arms (in regular short sleeves) have never gotten a sunburn at WDW before.

I am wondering if I can pour some suntan lotion in a little unmarked bottle to meet the 3 oz size limit. I have never seen sun tan lotion in that small of a bottle. My other thought is to soak a few napkins , kleenex or paper towels put them in a zip loc bag them just wipe them on the kids.

I was thinking the same thing. With it being end of season here the sun tan lotion supply is limited. Could sun block be put in a different trial size container (like shampoo)

Does anyone know for sure if hand sanitizer is ok? I carry a 1 ounce bottle, but I didn't know since it has an alcohol content if it would be ok or not. I hope so because I seem to pick up every germ on a plane when I don't use it.

Woo hoo! I'm just so happy that I can buy a bottle of water to take on the plane with me. I drink lots of water on the plane for two main reasons.

1. To help pop my ears so they don't hurt.
2. To stay hydrated so I'm less likely to get sick.

I was resigned to doing without on our trip at the end of October. I'm just thrilled that I don't have to now!

Mary, I'd ASSUME that it's one per carry on bag. So if you find you actually need the second quart bag of toiletries then take a small backpack or something for your DD - have a couple of very light things (toys maybe) and the quart bag for her.
I'm not a TSA agent, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night....

Read the label on the saline. The bottle has to be 4 oz. or less, and a full-size bottle is normally 12 oz.

The trial-size bottles you get from your eye doctor are usually small enough.

TSA's website has been updated. It shoes Liquid Sanitizers less than 3oz in size CAN be packed in your carry-on. Just have to include them in the zip-top quart bag with your other liquid toiletries.

My understanding is that items that are liquid/lotion/cream/gel which are not placed in your quart bag must be presented separately for inspection to make sure they are within an allowable exception: prescription med of any size; essential med up to 4 oz.; supplies for diabetic up to 5 oz; necessary baby food or milk for baby. Apparently, all "exception items" will be noted in writing on your boarding pass or elsewhere.

So, if you want to carry a 4 oz. bottle of lens solution, it must be presented for inspection. You can opt to bring a 2 oz. bottle and place it in your quart bag and then it need not be seperately inspected.

Also, I believe it is one quart bag per passenger. If Mary wants that bag to be her DD's only carry-on bag, that is fine by the TSA and the airlines.

Since just after 8/10, I've been "separately presenting" a ziploc bag marked "Medications", and containing 6 Rx liquid medications, my contacts case and a 2 oz. bottle of contact solution, plus a pill organizer. The separate presentation consists of taking the ziploc out of my purse and setting it on top of my purse and shoes in a screening bin, where it has stayed until I retrieved it on the other side of the x-ray scanner. No TSO has laid hands on the ziploc bag or looked at it any more closely than at arm's length.

As of now, I'll be carrying two ziploc bags, one bag marked "Medications" and another bag marked "Toiletries". I'll just put both of them on top of my shoes and purse in the bin.

I heard the announcement about TSO's making notes on the back of the boarding pass, but I really don't think that will be regularly done except in cases where an ETD swab is performed. It would take forever otherwise.
