Hi SD friends! Can anyone tell me if any of the ground floor rooms with patios have two double beds at the Dolphin? I had a beautiful ground floor room on the end of the building and with a patio but it had one king bed. Won't work this time with DD and DH and I together! Loved being on the ground floor and loved my patio! Thanks in advance!

Yes, we had one in 2007 and sat outside and watched the ducks by the water while my girls ran around in the grass. It was wonderful. Going to the room looked like you were going to the bowels of the hotel, but the room and patio were great. Close to the pool exit, too.

:)

Nice! Thank you! I'm going to ask for one of these rooms at check-in. I loved being on the ground floor last year and loved my room! You don't happen to remember what room number you had, do you?

Does anyone know where the Disney Car Care Center is located? Is it something on the transportation system or would there be transportation from the Swan? National and Alamo are all booked and we're working with Hertz.

Thanks in advance!
Hi there! DD and I booked a car from the Poly 2 years ago - they had a shuttle that came and picked us up, Disney transpo didn't go to it, even though it's on property. Hope this helps!

Anna - I thought Picabu was pretty good, but a bit pricey. I ate the rotisserie chicken ALOT when I was there for my conference last year - but I'm pretty easy to please. We plan on hitting it up again this year, hopefully it will be good!

It's in my Passporter....now I've got to remember where that is. Ok...5 mins of panic...haven't used it (or seen it) since June.. I've got it. Room 1184.

:)

Thanks, I think we just went at really bad times....after regular dinner rush...the stuff that was left looked like it had been there for a looong time.

We really liked the sandwich place, though, it was really good.

And you're welcome for the room number. The hallway on the way down looks like you're going into the worse part of the hotel, but the room was nice.

Was it the hallway right by the Camp Dolphin, fitness center and laundry room? I was down that hall and I kind of thought the same thing, but it was really quiet!

And really dumb question, but can you go out on the balconies or are they just for appearances? Last time we had a bottom floor room next to the water and could sit outside and watch the ducks. I don't remember if the upper levels could sit on their balconies or not.

Oh Yes! :thumbsup2: The balconies have two chairs and a little end table. I LOVE to spend a little quiet time out there. Last June I wasn't feeling well one day and left my family at the parks and went back to the room. Sat on the patio for a few hours with my book and felt rejuvenated! :cool1:

That's exactly where it is. It looks really bad; I was worried. But it was really convenient to everything, the room was nice....and having the patio with the water and large grassy area was just what we neede.....for our familiy of 5, extra space is always good. :)

Thanks!! Now my dh has to decide if he's coming or not so we can make a def decision on where. :)

I am going to S/D for a conference next month. Any tips for me??? I'm not a newbie to Disney but have never been to S/D or a conference there. Thx!

We have a patio room booked for our July trip...I had always wanted to stay in one. Thanks for the feedback!

I thought only National and Alamo were at the Car Care Center, so I just checked Hertz's site. They have a location at Shades of Green, but not at the Car Care Center.

That's so funny we had the same impression! I'm definately going to request that room that you had then - thanks! :thumbsup2

Have you stayed there before? I hadn't and I was really pleasantly surprised. Our conference was all over both the Swan and Dolphin and it took me some time to find the conference rooms, especially at the Swan, so leave yourself plenty of time to get to your sessions. What was nice too was zipping over to the Boardwalk for lunch - the Ohio State-Michigan game was on the Saturday I was there and I had a fun lunch in between sessions at the ESPN sports bar (didn't want to leave). Hopefully you're taking some time too to enjoy the parks!

Oh, sorry, I had another question, Anna! Was your room on the Epcot side so you could see some of the Impressions fireworks? Or was it on the pool side? Thanks!

Thank you! Husband handling rental and I'm just trying to manage the details so we've obviously had a miscommunication. I think I'm going to post over on the transportation board for more general info.

Does anyone know if we choose the will-call option, can we pick up at S/D? Any other advice?

Getting down to the nitty gritty!

We have already booked the Dolphin for $149/nt. with the educator discount for Dec. 18-24, but we are interested in another stay between Dec. 28-Jan. 1. The S/D reservation agent said that the week between Christmas and NYE is blacked out this year. (We have used it during this time frame in prior years.:confused3) Does anyone remember what the best rates were for the week between Christmas and New Year's Eve last year?

Thanks for any information about this time period and possible discounts!:flower3:
