Can anyone tell me about the candy store called Sugar in the Dolphin? I read on another website that it is a "new age candy store" so I am very curious!

..from www.swandolphin.com
Sugar3 - A candy store where cravings for sweets are satisfied in a creative, exciting and totally cool environment. Located at the Dolphin.

It looks like one of those candy shops in the mall, with clear lucite containers, so you can see all the pretty candy! :cutie:
(the swedish fish were yummy - I've never gone in, but my 70 yr old mother felt the need for some candy. :goodvibes)

Oh okay. Cool! Thanks for the info!:wizard:

A candy store? How did we miss this last year? My husband usually sniffs out candy anywhere. We will have to check it out next trip.

It's near the entrance to the elevators, in the hallway on the way to Daisy's Garden, on the left, if you are coming from the Dolphin Lobby. If I remember correctly, it isn't open all the time - maybe that's why you missed it. ;)

1. Yes, there will be a refrigerator in the room.

2. Ask Bell Services to transfer your luggage from CBR to the Dolphin. I would go to a theme park for part of the day, then take WDW transportation to the Dolphin when you're ready to check-in.

3. The most economical way to get to the airport is probably to rent a car at WDW with drop-off at MCO. Alamo and National have an office at the Dolphin and the Car Care Center, Avis is at the Hilton near Downtown Disney, and Budget is at the Doubletree near Downtown Disney. Make your reservation in advance.

Many thanks!

Any other iPhone or iPod Touch owners have the free Swan and Dolphin app? OK, so it's basically an advertisement/informational brochure for the hotels, but it's got some video and photos and a resort map, so it's good for a quick Swalphin fix when you're nowhere near WDW and missing your favorite two resorts.

If you are staying at Swan or Dolphin and purchased tickets through Undercover Tourist, what are you supposed to do to get the paper tickets Undercover Tourist sends converted into a hard (card) ticket? I know you can get it added to your room card key if you stay at a Disney resort, but what about at Swan or Dolphin??

You use the tickets as is.

Hi,

I am trying to plan a birthday trip for me and my 6 (soon to be 7) year old goddaughter (her first trip to FL and Disney) and I am finding such deals I can't make a decision. ;-) Since I know you are all Dolphin pros I thought you'd be the people to advise me.

Our birthday is Fri 9/25 and I am planning for us to spend it at MK (taking advantage of the free tickets). I know it's the day of MNSSHP so not ideal but I think MK is the park we should visit and that's the day it's free.

I found an air/flight deal (with a coupon) through Priceline vacations where we could stay at the Dolphin for 4 nights (9/24-9/28) for about $92/night incl tax but probably not resort fee. I know that is an INCREDIBLE deal, even if we get the dumpster view. Or, we can stay at the Embassy Suites LBV or one of the DTD hotels for about $40/night - which would free up more money to perhaps add water parks or a day or more of other parks to her Bday pass (I have quite a few days left from non-exp passes from years past). Is it worth staying at Dolphin if not visiting E or HS?

I also found a deal for $99 + tax for 2 nights @Ramada Gateway Kissimmee + 2 1 day passes to Sea World. So for slightly less than my 4 nights at the Dolphin (I would have to book elsewhere and pay more per night if not booking whole trip together) we could still do 2 nights there and 2 nights at the Ramada w/ Sea World.

Thoughts? Is it crazy to spend all our time at the Dolphin if only doing one day at MK? I am thinking we will do the campfire/movie at Ft. Wilderness (where I used to stay when I was her age), do the activities at Dolphin pool, etc - take advantage of all of the "free" Disney stuff I haven't done in years because I am usually at the parks my whole trip.

Originally I was planning for us to take a Mears shuttle but now thanks to another DIS member I found a rental car for $10/day so w/ taxes same price to rent a car (and can go to Walmart, Outlets, church, etc) as take shuttle (except for parking...)

Any thoughts/advice would be appreciated - especially from those of you who have stayed at the Dolphin with little girls.

thanks!

You can also hang out at the Boardwalk from the Dolphin. You can also see the Epcot fireworks from that area. Actually a party day is usually a good day to pick for MK since most people see the park closing early and choose a different one.

There is also minature golf right across from the Dolphin.

:)

Also in case you are not aware you can upgrade your 1 day ticket to however many days you want and pay the difference. A childs 4 day ticket is 204.48 but you get a credit of 7242. The adult 4 day ticket is 239.63 but you get a credit of 84.14. You can get a 5 day ticket for only a few dollars more. The chart is here.

http://allears.net/pl/ticketchart.htm#MYW1

You can also get your birthday night for free at the Dolphin. But at the rates you found at 92 I highly doubt even a free night would be any less. You have to stay a minimum of 3 nights to get the free one. I think your deal would be better. :)

Thanks for all of the info Mom Poppins!

You're right, the free birthday night is not as good a deal as I would have pay $219 for at least 2 nights to get the free night.

I am happy to hear MK may not be very crowded that day. (I was concerned it might be very crowded 4-7 when the partygoers could enter - I don't remember it being very crowded when I went to MVMCP but that was a Tues or Wed in early December...)

I am considering upgrading the passes but due to many other trips this year, bad economy, etc I want to keep expenses down and that would be an extra $300 - so doable, but more likely if we were staying at BW DTD or Embassy Suites LBV where I would save $200 on lodging to offset...so many decisions...I am sure regardless of what I decide it will be a great trip...

Have a great trip! The Dolphin location is great! The pool is also very nice to hang out around. My kiddos love to play on the sand beach and they love they love the water slide! I really think you can make a trip out of it in that area.

Also you stated you had some non expiring passes for you. Maybe you could just add a day as you stated to hers to spend another day at the parks. 2 park day and 2 resort days. :)

Happy Planning! :)

Really, really helpful thread. I just booked for the second week in June at a teacher rate of $189 at the Dolphin! [I am aware of the $10 per head resort charge (and adding a rollaway), but even with that I am thrilled to have this location for a family of 5!]

We have always wanted a location that is within walking distance (or a ferry ride) to some of the parks-but cannot afford the heavy price tag that goes along with the Disney Deluxe resorts that can accomodate us!

Swan and Dolphin are awesome IMHO. I stay there almost every year when I visit Disney and never have had a bad stay.
