I would like to get info on the Allears code for the room upgrade. I read all of the newletters etc from allears but I guess at the time, I had no idea I would be going to the Swan so I guess I didn't pay attention. Thanks

Good afternoon everyone....:goodvibes
We are looking at staying at the Dolphin to celebrate my son's 12th birthday and I have an "odd" question that my son wanted me to ask...:rolleyes1
Every trip to WDW, my son loves watching Stacy's top 7 attractions on the tv. Does anyone know if this show is on at the Dolphin? When I would be getting ready in the morning to go to the parks, my son would always be watching this. Just curious if he'll be able to watch it at the Dolphin.
Thanks :thumbsup2
Erin

Yes the Disney TV channels are in The Swan & The Dolphin! I love to watch Stacy too - nothing better to start the day with!

Have no fear, "Stacy" and her "Top 7" have been available the past three years we have stayed at the Dolphin. :thumbsup2

that there may be more discounts for SD in Feb 2010? Anyone have any thoughts?

This is exactly the same question I have. My mom is a nurse, and we were hoping to get the $129 rate for the first week in February.

Does anyone know approx. when I would be able to make reservations?

I have no idea when the Feb. rates will come out. I just tried to look for you at the S & D site and the rate for government employees which is usually the same as the nurse/teacher rate is $209. Hopefully they will offer a lower rate. You can always book it and pay the 1 nights deposit and change the rate if something better shows up.

:)

We booked end of March- beginning of April 2010 at the Dolphin with a teacher rate of $209, plus $10 resort fee, and 12.5% tax per night :goodvibes
It comes out to about $245.13 per night.

The resort fee gives you 2 bottles of water per night, free internet, use of the health club and some other perks.

We pay for internet service anyway - so the resort fee does not bother us.

Thank you TaraPA and Singingmom for your quick responses...:thumbsup2

I have never really considered the Swan or Dolphin before now so I don't know too much about these resorts. After reading this entire thread and checking out the Dolphin on other websites, we've decided this is where our next Disney hotel is....but, I am going to drive everyone crazy with a ton of questions. :rolleyes1

We are looking at staying in an Epcot fireworks view room with a balcony. Do these rooms offer clear view of the fireworks, or are they obstructed views? Where abouts are these rooms located? Any opinions on these rooms would be helpful! Also, are there chairs and a table on the balcony?

Thanks again :goodvibes

two chairs and a tiny end table on the balcony.. not sure how "clear" the firework views are - and as someone said before, you lose some of the effect without hearing the music. ;) That being said - we still enjoy the balcony. :wizard:

I think you will be happy about a Dolphin stay. The resort really is lovely! :thumbsup2

They also have TVs at the bus stops. They're not always turned on but when they have been you can see Stacy there too.

The fireworks views are found in the east wing of the Swan and far east wing of the Dolphin. The higher the floor the better the view. Blondie has several picture links in her signature with some fireworks views.
I tried to post some of my pictures but the DIS was giving me trouble. I'll try again later.

I just returned from the Dolphin resort and had a wonderful stay. I used Starwood points for 2 nights and then points for a reduced rate for the other 3 nights. I asked for a balcony room upon checkin and received a lovely room on the 9th floor in the West wing. I had a wonderful view of the fireworks. With the resort fee I received the water each day and made use of the Internet access which was very good. Also, the safe was large enough to store my laptop. What a great stay!

Do you think the Dolphin will ever get refrigerators in the rooms ?

The Swan rooms now have free refrigerators in the rooms :goodvibes

But, my family lovers the Dolphin and the best we can do is pay the $30 to have the "snack mini-frig" cleaned out to cool off our water bottles.
The "snack mini-frig" never gets cold enought to store milk, but is OK to cool off water bottles (not cold, cold, but better than room temp).

We will be staying at the Dolphin late March 2010 into early April 2010. I am hoping the Dolphin will get refrigerators too.

:confused3 Does anyone know ? :confused3

Good news - the Dolphin was scheduled to switch to refrigerators this month. :)

Hey, thanks for checking for me. I called them today and they told me the same thing. Apparently February is a "convention month." It is not park busy, but hotel busy. I am bummed, because that rate is a little pricy. I might book it and hope for the best, because we really want to stay there!

Actually - from Presidents' weekend on - February is in peak season at WDW resorts, with higher crowds and much higher resort prices.

After all these years I had no idea that the Swan is EMH eligible and has a boat ride to Epcot. DH is a starwood preferred guest.

I was talking about the first week of February - before President's Day.

PARAS4RI - :thanks:Thank you so much for the good news !

We can not wait till we finally get back to our beloved Dolphin with all the new rehabs.

;)For anyone who would like to know - we do add our own Disney feeling to the Dolphin room......

We bring Disney themed window clings to stick on the windows (or glass slider) and the mirrors. They can be removed bery easily and leave no marks.

We also bring Disney themed bathroom 5 oz. cups.

We order flowers from the Disney Florist (we are celebrating our 25th anniversary the next time we are in WDW) with a Disney themed - such as the container with Mickey's pants and big yellow shoes.

It's our way of adding a touch of Disney in our Dolphin room ::MickeyMo

Does anyone know if the Dolphin has started to get the fridges installed? Tell me more about the allears email upgrade. I am signed up for allears but must have overlooked it.

Any answers to these questions about the allears offer??
