Got confirmation for our room tonight. A week (middle of June) in a Dolphin Executive Suite (Lake View) for $309 a night.

Our choice was down too a suite at the S/D or 2 standard rooms at a moderate resort (Coranado, Caribbean Beach). We have 3 adults and two children, so one room wouldn't cut it.

The Dolphin actually came out slightly cheaper, even when figuring in transportation from the airport. When we were told that adjoining rooms could not be guaranteed at the other resorts the choice was easy. Just have to book the airfare.

Now I just have a long 6 months to wait. Haven't been to Disney world in 22 years so, to say I'm getting excited is an understatement.

Congrats!! I think the location alone will blow you away!! I enjoy Coronado Springs (not so much Caribbean Beach), but you have to take a bus to get anywhere from those resorts. At Swan/Dolphin, you're in the heart of the Boardwalk and can walk (or boat) to Epcot & Studios.

Oh, and you can see your resort from most anywhere you are on WDW property!!

WOW! That's a terrific rate!!! We're a party of 6 (maybe 7) women & we're trying to find a good place to stay. We've been going back & forth about the different Disney villas. However, that rate for a suite at the Dolphin deserves checking into!!! I looked at the layout & it looks like it has 3 bathrooms?????? That would be perfect! Plus the location!!! I think I'm making a call! Was this a special? Did you need a code???

When we first saw the drawing of the executive Suites layout we also thought it had two bedrooms, but it actually has only one. The regular executive suite comes with either 2 double (?) beds or a king sized bed. Although you are able to get one with two rooms at an additional charge. The parlor area is 480 sq. feet and have a king sized Sico (murphy) bed and a pull out sleeper sofa.

The s/d is running some deals for executive suites throughout the year, but no special code is required. Our price also included a teacher discount. for to swandolphin.com/offers for more info.

You should also be aware that they do require $10 daily resort services charge and the do not offer a free shuttle from the airport, so you need to add $20 one way / $34(?) roundtrip per person.

We thought we might enjoy the Coranado Springs "experience" a little bit more because it will be the first time at Disney for my nieces who will be 4 1/2, 1 1/2. But they couldnt guarantee ajoining rooms and that was a deal breaker.

Between the location, price, getting a suite and less walking I think we will be very happy with the decision.

We have stayed in the Junior suite many times. Yes there are 2 baths. I think the layout of the suite is on post one. I will go and check.

Thanks. I could not find the layout of the Junior suite on the website. The Junior suite was less then the Executive suite. We only have 4 in our party so it should be enough room.

What had been called the Junior Suites are now called the Alcove Suites.

That sounds more like an executive suite, but in the s/d description: Deluxe Alcove room configurations in the Dolphin vary widely and feature all of the amenities found in our Standard Guest Rooms.

Thanks rie's mom, your advice was helpful in our decision making. I'm glad I found these boards.

The Disney travel agent was also helpful when they couldn't guarantee adjoining rooms.

Does anyone know if the S/D have an Internet cafe or any accessible computers? I don't want to bring my laptop and am looking for options that would allow me to back up my photos/video to a portable hard drive throughout the week.

If not any suggestions on where I could go?

They claim they can only hold max of 2 adults and are only 1 room with a separate area with a sofa bed...just 1 bathroom...so I asked about the diagram that was posted on here & was told that is a configuration of more than 1 suite....??? Maybe I'll call back later & see what the next person says. Or are there different "levels" of Executive Suites? I asked for pricing on any of the larger suites with as many rooms/beds possible & they said they have no "large suites" with multi-rooms. ???

I would call again and try to get someone else to talk to. It sounds like they are describing a Deluxe Alcove Suite. As far as the diagram on the website goes, it is poorly shown, but the normal executive suite is the parlor area and one bedroom (2 double beds or a king). The diagram shows both options, and it looks like you may be able to get a suite with an additional (2nd room) at an additional cost. It is possible they different executive suite configurations than shown?

As far as the differences in hotels: the Swan is geared more as a conference room With a 600 ft parlor with a conference table for six. The Dolphin has a 480 square foot parlor with a king Sico (Murphy) bed. They all should have 2 bathrooms.

Both times we have called the executive suite was described like the website claims. Our party will be 3 adults and 2 children and we had no problems booking.

A far as there executive suite deal goes, I think they only offer a few suites at the special rates. When we called the second time the two weeks we were looking at, and were available a few days earlier, were gone. We ended up changing our arrival date a day and were able to get a Executive suite fora week.
