I wish the decorations would still be up for our January visit, but as long as I can sit on the comfy couches with my espresso martini, I will be happy!!! See you soon!!

Yumm...espresso martini sounds good! I am missing the S&D. Can't believe our trip was almost 2 months ago. Loved the Swan...and the Cabana Bar!!

Staying at the Swan right now. Room 318.

The good:

Beds are super comfortable. Nice pillows.
A/C was able to keep our room at 62....we like it cold. I overrode the thermostat to keep it that cold constantly.
Il Mulino was fantastic. Got the chicken Parmesan...it was enormous. Filled the entire plate....looked like a small pizza.
The Fountain had great milkshakes.
Awesome light show at night on the causeway between the Swan and a Dolphin. The Palm Trees light up and change colors to music.
The lobby and main floor were clean and looked great.
Housekeeping was great everyday.

The bad:

The hallway outside our room smelled of mold or mildew really bad. Our room didn't seem to smell, but maybe the AC covered it up. Our room, while clean, is really outdated. The Swan website says the rooms have been recently renovated, but that is a lie. We stayed here 5 years ago......and nothing had changed. False advertising. That really bothers me.

Would I stay here again? Probably. Although the Boardwalk was where we hung out a lot. But those rooms are much more expensive. Hopefully the Swan is completely remodeling all the guest rooms soon. Even the hallway carpeting and wall colors are really tacky looking.

All-in-all, we have had a great stay.

I do agree on the rooms needing to be updated. Still, for the price and location, you can't beat it!

I agree on the weather. We left this morning and are back home. To snow and 28 degrees.

Did you also smell the mold right off the elevator on our floor? Or am I crazy? My wife could smell it too.

I have always rented a car for my many trips there. But in April we booked Tiffany Towncar. It was great. $110 (after online $5 coupon) round trip, plus tip. Excellent service.

Mears has a shuttle, or you can do a cab ride...we did car rentals,but overall,I think next time we'll just grab a shuttle,it's simpler

Just make sure you're not in a hurry when you do the "shared ride" shuttle!

When I arrived last week (Monday, mid-morning), Swan & Dolphin were stops number 4 & 5 -- The first stop was a Hyatt; the next 2 stops were in Bonnet Creek........ between waiting for the shuttle at the airport (25 mins) and the ride to Swan, it took about 90 minutes!

Going back Saturday afternoon was better as the van pulled up to Swan with only room for 2 of us -- and then we were on our way to MCO!


Next time I will probably pay the extra $$$ for a cab or town car.

Yep - after a shuttle ride that felt as long as the actual flight to Florida, we have used a town car service ever since!! Lol

Plus...I love that man holding a sign with my name on it! I pretend Florida is happy to have our family back! Lol

Hello Friends! We are returning for our 7th Dolphin stay in a few weeks!!!! I hate to admit it, but I haven't really been paying attention to the Magic Bands and FP+ conversations on the Boards. (Bad girl!).

So... Can someone give me a quick explanation (Magic Bands for Dummies version) ? We haven't purchased our park tickets yet - was planning on just getting them at the Dolphin desk. We will need park hoppers. Are we eligible for magic bands staying at the Dolphin? Should I be ordering tickets now?

Please help out a "Late to the Party" gal.... ;-)

If things stay the same by the time you arrive, you won't have magic bands to use from the swan or dolphin. You can do fast pass + by registering at a table right by the IG entrance. That is same day or length of stay FP+ registration as I didn't try it. I did regular fast passes or standby and did most of the attractions.

So far, the ability to book FP+ Weeks out hasn't are it to the swan or dolphin.
