If I remember from History lessons, in 1916 or 1917, Britain was getting desperate for new soldiers to sign up, so they started letting underage kids sign up, right?

If I remember from History lessons, in 1916 or 1917, Britain was getting desperate for new soldiers to sign up, so they started letting underage kids sign up, right?

Seems correct. I think they told them to reapply the next day with a made up age, if they were too young the day before.
