I like to think like Jacob made Bella love him xD
But yeah, you can't make someone love you.
So, that argument doesn't win.
Sadly.

But I'm sure, that if he hadn't kept on telling her that, her realization of her love, would have been delayed to a much later day.
Say, after the wedding =P
