It was annoying me too, i mean he just kept saying it over and over again and i think we got the point the first time.

Edward wouldn't be okay.
I don't think anyone would be if they were him. He's been alive for a long, long time, and he admits that Bella is the only one who he actually loved, needed and wanted. Feelings he didn't know he had until he met her. It's kind of like a first love many years too late.
Their love is eternal, at least his anyways, he wouldn't forget her in a million years, he woudln't.

And besides, everyone says after someone leaves them that they're fine with what they do, but they aren't. We lie for the good of others. And Edward would be willing to lie if that meant Bell was doing what she wanted to.

Every guy says that he will be okay and he doesn't care what you (girl in relationship), does after the breakup. It's a lie. We always care and wonder about what could've been.
