If James is ugly as a vampire, and the vampires get more beautiful than when they were humans, wouldn't James have to me horrifically ugly?
And if a child get's bitten, do they stay a child, or mature?

I think James seems ugly bc of what Bella thinks of his personality. And i think they would stay a child bc noe of the cullens age.. dont know tho only Stephanie would be able to answer that

That's why he wanted to become a vampire, so he can be average looking.
And I'm pretty sure they stay a kid *thinks of Interview with a Vampire* Psychologically they'll get mature, but not physically.
