Yes, the Skyliner will link Epcot and Hollywood Studios. It isn't a straight shot between them as there are stations at Caribbean Beach and the new Riviera resort. The 5th station is at Art of Animation/Pop Century. Based on the estimates they've shared, travel time between the 2 parks could be as little as 12 minutes depending on how loading and unloading works at the stations and where you actually need to change cars.

I love the that the skyliner reminds we so much of the original Skyway. It only can hold 7-8 people. That is like a family is most cases.

I believe they're saying 8-10. That could be one group but I wouldn't expect to be alone if there are only a few of you. There are 3 of us so I expect to be sharing.

Can you travel from park to park?

To clarify a little on what has been said, the Skyliner will link HS and Epcot, though it will go to the International Gateway (rear entrance) of Epcot, so keep that in mind. It is primarily to link certain resorts to these parks. There are also boats from HS to the Epcot International Gateway entrance and a walking path. To get from HS to Epcot on the Skyliner, you will have to change lines at Caribbean Beach Resort. Expectations are that this will still be a relatively fast transportation option, but we won't be sure how crowds affect that until it opens.
