I know a couple of DIS'ers are recently back from DLP, and the Princess Pavillion opened last week too.

So, did you go in? What did you think :)?

My DD isn't bothered so much anymore with meeting any of the Princesses (although Rapunzel and Flynn would be good, round out the group so to speak), and the longest we've ever queued for them was 45 minutes, when she was a lot younger and when it was on the Castle stage.

I love the look of the queueing area inside the Pavillion though, as an attraction in its own right, from photos I've seen on various sites. Still don't think I'd be enamoured enough to queue in it for an hour or more.

What was your experience of the Princess Pavillion?

According to DLRP Today, it had waiting times of 2hrs on the first day.

It looks nice but I think it's always going to be plagued by long queues.

I've been for the opening ceremony on Saturday and then for opening time Sunday because it was raining and most rides weren't running.

It is cute. The decorations are really lovely. However, the problem I see is that the second half of the queue does not have decorations at all. It's sturdy walls (probably supposed to look like a castle), so some children do get bored. Understandable if all you're seeing is walls for a certain period of time. There was lots of movement back and forth of kids trying to catch a glimpse at the princesses - which is not possible due to the set up.

The queue moves very slow. The CMs kept apologizing to me for some reason. Maybe a solo adult is somewhat suspicious. ;)

You are guaranteed to meet one princess. If you're lucky it's two. As the CMs put it "but this is a bonus."

It was my understanding that the queue splits and one family goes left and the next one right, but apparently they abandoned that concept.

I also thought I had read that each princess would have a matching background? I was wondering how on earth they'd accomplish that... but maybe I misunderstood because my French wasn't good enough.
It's pretty generic "royal" backgrounds with landscape and a castle and they're identical for all princesses.

One potential problem I see is that they're making a big deal of "it's a surprise what princess you meet." Don't get me wrong, I like the element of surprise and I think it's a nice concept. But I am not dead set on meeting a certain princess.

The other meet and greet thing had a time table and you could figure out "I have to be there at X time to meet Belle", at least approximately. Here you are in line and don't know who it is.

The little girl in front of me had a major meltdown when the second princess was Mulan who she didn't recognize.

If they'd tell you of course there'd probably be just as many meltdowns if the desired princess left when you got to the front, but at least the parents could then prepare the kids.

The pictures came out really nice, I even bought the complete photo package. It's a proper set up and not as... questionable as in the tent thing.

I saw Mulan and Ariel Saturday morning. Arrived about 20 minutes before the opening ceremony. Took about 35 minutes to get through the line. But part of the reason for that was that they hadn't set the queue area up and let people watch the ceremony, so the usual scrum to get in developed.

In the afternoon apparently Snow White and I forgot who the second princess was were out at some point.

Sunday morning I arrived 9.30 AM, was out at 10.15. Both times that included photo printing. When I left the line was showing 2 hours Saturday and 90 minutes Sunday. A friend of mine went Sunday afternoon (sign said 1.5 hours, she said it was more like 1 hour) and saw Tiana and Cinderella.

I'm off tomorrow and cant wait to see the Pavillion! I think its def gonna be the first stop when the park opens because I really dont want to wait for 2 hours!

If you see this before you leave, try to get there earlier than park opening. 20 minutes before regular opening maybe. The queue seemed to build up rapidly after that.

thanks for that Vala - hmm we don't have EMH this trip coming, might have to re-think visiting the Pavillion.

You're welcome.

Yeah, it seemed like a lot of people did have the same idea I had and sacrificed part of their EMH to get in line early.

It is worth checking the line out when you get in without EMH. But I think it will be pretty long already, even if you walk straight to the Pavillion at regular opening.

Thanks for that we are off tomorrow as well so will get in line early to see them - providing the girls want to go that is!

Im quite excited about this DD will love it, Does anyone have any photos of this please?

I have. Sorry, my connection kept breaking down last night and I gave up on uploading photos. I will post when I get home from work.

I realized I forgot to take a picture of the outside, but I have the queueing area pretty detailed.

I was invited to the opening so we only had a 2 minute wait as we was 2nd in the queue. We saw Snow White and Sleeping Beauty.

I thought it was lovely inside, very very well themed but the queue moves so slowly. We went in there on Wednesday (before the official opening) and the wait time was 75 minutes and it took that long to move around to the 2nd part of the queue and we started the queue in the middle of the 1st part.

In the my Daughter got fed up waiting and wanted to leave (It's also very hot inside), which didn't matter as like I said we had invites to the official opening and I knew the queue would not be long for that.

Get there well before the meet and greet is due to happen as we saw wait times for 120 minutes and more throughout the week and sometimes this was before it was even open.

So am I right in thinking you get to see both princesses or is that only when its more quiet?

Everyone last week I know that went in there all saw 2 princesses.

We saw 2 because of the opening, well techincally we saw 4 but 2 we got to meet.

I saw two princesses Saturday after the opening ceremony.

On Sunday I was second in line at opening and only saw Belle. She was the only princess present at that point.

The CMs made a really big deal out of telling people that you were guaranteed only one princess and seeing a second one was a bonus. A couple of families within earshot did complain about seeing only Belle.

It did seem to be the norm that two princesses were there Saturday and Sunday though.

I think I´m afraid about the waiting lines but my daughters will go anyway.

Oh, it looks lovely!

thanks for posting the photos.

Certainly better than waiting in the rain! And the princesses will look less windswept!
