I've been for the opening ceremony on Saturday and then for opening time Sunday because it was raining and most rides weren't running.
It is cute. The decorations are really lovely. However, the problem I see is that the second half of the queue does not have decorations at all. It's sturdy walls (probably supposed to look like a castle), so some children do get bored. Understandable if all you're seeing is walls for a certain period of time. There was lots of movement back and forth of kids trying to catch a glimpse at the princesses - which is not possible due to the set up.
The queue moves very slow. The CMs kept apologizing to me for some reason. Maybe a solo adult is somewhat suspicious.
You are guaranteed to meet one princess. If you're lucky it's two. As the CMs put it "but this is a bonus."
It was my understanding that the queue splits and one family goes left and the next one right, but apparently they abandoned that concept.
I also thought I had read that each princess would have a matching background? I was wondering how on earth they'd accomplish that... but maybe I misunderstood because my French wasn't good enough.
It's pretty generic "royal" backgrounds with landscape and a castle and they're identical for all princesses.
One potential problem I see is that they're making a big deal of "it's a surprise what princess you meet." Don't get me wrong, I like the element of surprise and I think it's a nice concept. But I am not dead set on meeting a certain princess.
The other meet and greet thing had a time table and you could figure out "I have to be there at X time to meet Belle", at least approximately. Here you are in line and don't know who it is.
The little girl in front of me had a major meltdown when the second princess was Mulan who she didn't recognize.
If they'd tell you of course there'd probably be just as many meltdowns if the desired princess left when you got to the front, but at least the parents could then prepare the kids.
The pictures came out really nice, I even bought the complete photo package. It's a proper set up and not as... questionable as in the tent thing.
I saw Mulan and Ariel Saturday morning. Arrived about 20 minutes before the opening ceremony. Took about 35 minutes to get through the line. But part of the reason for that was that they hadn't set the queue area up and let people watch the ceremony, so the usual scrum to get in developed.
In the afternoon apparently Snow White and I forgot who the second princess was were out at some point.
Sunday morning I arrived 9.30 AM, was out at 10.15. Both times that included photo printing. When I left the line was showing 2 hours Saturday and 90 minutes Sunday. A friend of mine went Sunday afternoon (sign said 1.5 hours, she said it was more like 1 hour) and saw Tiana and Cinderella.
