I would love to know how the WL compares to the Poly. We went to the WL for dinner (Artist Pointe) from the Poly last trip, and loved both the restaurant and resort - we hope to stay there in the future.

This was my first Poly stay, and I've been wanting to stay there since I was a little girl in the '70's. Usually when I have certain expectations, I'm let down - but not this time - the Poly exceeded my expections! :thumbsup2 We loved it, and it's now tied with the GF for favorite resort.

I've stayed at both WL and the Poly.

They are very tough to compare. The rooms at WL are good, but they seem small compared to those at the Poly. The pool looks bigger, but seems to have less deck space (ie: fewer chairs) and its always a struggle to get a good location. The lobby at WL is unbelievable! You'd still love it, absolutely :thumbsup2 I'm just not sure that its on par with the Poly & GF.

MsStinkerBelle - Great pics! Did you notice any new clothing with the Poly logo on it??

I noticed three hoodies that were new to me anyway when we stayed at the Polynesian last weekend.

One was a navy one which is just like the one that been there for a year or so but now it has lovely raspberry colored flowers near the logo....hibiscus I think.

Another one was white, thinner material and very colorful.

For the life of me, I can't remember the third.

Still didn't see any new logo mugs. Just the brown travel mugs.

Thanks for the insights! It is interesting that at the Poly the pool looks smallish, but we never had too much trouble finding a nice place to sit.....maybe because of the beach area. It never seemed too crowded to me. And the quiet pool was wonderful for a break from the volcano action!

We will be staying at WL in 2 weeks, and we will be at the Poly in November. So I'll be able to answer this question at the end of the year! ;)

We have stayed at , and love both. I think I prefer Poly, while DH prefers WL. The kids love the bunk beds at WL, but love having the Monorail at the Poly. They are both beautiful resorts, with a very laid-back relaxing feel. WL can sometimes feel a little more relaxing, as sometimes the GCH can get a little Crazy at peak times....although WL can too with WCC noise. I do prefer Captain Cook's over Roaring fork, and think that there is better shopping at the Poly. I love the fact that WL is all under one roof though...Our last 3 trips have been in Dec, and it's nice to stay inside on a chilly night when heading to grab a bite to eat, browse in a shop, or relax in the lobby. We also love the Hot Tub at Wl, and really wish there was one at the Poly. I prefer Poly's beach with the tropical feel and hammocks....NOTHING beats lying in a hammock and gazing across 7 seas lagoon at Cinderella's Castle. However, at Christmas time, nothing beats sitting in Front of WL's huge fireplace, reading a book and sipping hot chocolate by the Christmas Tree. I think that you really can't go wrong with either resort

called today to get Express on my account, and while I had them I had never requested any area.. So, he says to me I would recommend Hawaii - perfect location. I say, fine but isn't there an additional charge. He said, NO - I'll just make the request but can't promise. :confused3

So, correct me but there are no regular GV rooms in the Hawaii building right??

Thanks

Correct. Hawaii is all club level.

If you have non club level reservation, I would call back and request something that you at least have a chance of getting. There is always the possibility they could upgrade you to Hawaii CL, but that decision isn't made by the reservation line CMs.

what is Express?:confused3

My family and I were considering staying at the WL for our next trip, however, we love the Polynesian too much that we don't think we can stay there. The Poly is amazing, but so is the WL.

I think my question got buried in the thread. Are you able to put things under the bed? I'm just wondering b/c I ordered a crib from abbf and just found out that I have to store the box the 10 days we are there. Just trying to figure out where I may be able to put it. :confused3

I'm so excited that I'm almost at my double digit for my first trip

We stayed there in Dec and checked to put the suitcases under the bed but could not. We were in a standard garden view room, so I am not sure if any of the other rooms can.

Did you know you can request a crib from the Poly and not have to rent one? We did that last time when my daughter was just over one, and this time we used the couch in the room that turned into a twin bed and they brought us bed rails and my daughter, just over 2 now, slept on the twin bed with the bed rails and LOVED it!

If you still rent the crib and you are in the same kind of room, we put our suitcases on the side of the bed next to the wall and could still get out of bed easily. The rooms are BIG! and there will plenty of room to store it against a wall depending on how big the box is.

I just thought of another idea, and that would be to call the Poly and see if they can store the box for you at baggage services and just call for it on your last day. I dont know if they would, but it might be worth a call.

Have a great time! The Poly is awesome!!!

Oooo that reminds me....I think I saw this on the previous Poly thread but I'm not sure.....

We are requesting a crib (not the standard pack-n-play) because DD only wants to sleep in a crib. Anyway, did I remember reading that they are smaller than standard? And if so, I think I want to pick up a sheet somewhere. Does anyone remember if they just tucked under a sheet to make it fit or if they purchased one somewhere?

TIA!

Volleygirl, having two small children myself, it would be very hard to be waiting at the airport, sitting on the plane, waiting and sitting on the ME bus, then to just sit and wait for food after you get to the resort and get settled. I'm sure everyone will want to explore the resort asap. I would make adrs for a meal there, but probably on day three or four, when a long relaxing evening at the Poly would be heaven.

Thank you so much! I thought I had read that before, but wasn't sure. I think my DD would be fine without the crib, but I don't really want to take the chance for 10 days. She doesn't sleep in a pack n play and she hasn't ever slept in anything else. Thanks!!

There will be 4 of us in one room at the Poly, 2 adults (one of the adults will be me the other my sister) plus my 2 kids. We are all spoiled and no one wants to share a bed :confused3 . I believe we can request a roll away since we don't exceed the occupancy is this correct? Is there a charge for the roll away and how much is it? THANKs!

Don't know about roll aways, but are the kids little? Could they sleep on the daybed together?
