Don't know about roll aways, but are the kids little? Could they sleep on the daybed together?

No, my 14 year old is a big kid 5'10, and now my 50 yo sister is going to join us, so she def. needs one of the beds or at least the day bed. I hate letting my sis sleep on the day bed, but technically she is my guest and I promised my kids that would get her own beds. This was before "Auntie Louise" decided last minute to join us and there is no way the 2 kids can share. Worst case we can't get a rollaway so my 8 you sleeps in same bed as me, but she is a kicker! Thinking this could be easily handled with a roll-away. Has anyone gotten a roll-away there? I know they have them at some of the other resorts like CSR for approx. $15.00 night.

Oh goodness...the daybed would definitely not work for you! I was thinking you might have had small children....toddlers, etc.

Sorry, I don't know about the roll aways. We got one once at another resort (POP, I think??) and since they had no double bed room available, only a king, there was no charge for it. It was great having the king bed though!!

They definately have roll-aways (I saw them bringing it into the room next to mine). Sorry I don't know if there's a cost.

I have been lurking on this thread for months and am so excited to post! I'll be at the Poly Sept 15-20 (doing 3 nights at AKL first). I had booked a Garden View Club room using a AAA 15% discount but with all this code talk recently I decided to call Disney this am to see if they had one for me and they did for 40% :cool1: and it was available for the Club room! Disney just saved me $688.37 (and $311.37 for our AKL stay)!:woohoo: :woohoo:
I am so excited!

So excited! :yay:
We leave for our first Poly stay in 6 days!
I have a question, hopefully someone may know the answer to. Does anyone know what the cost is to have your laundry done? I know it's priced by the article of clothing. I'm really wanting to know what it costs to have a pair of jeans washed for us.
For some reason, I'm not seeing room in our schedule to do laundry  Not sure that's really a bad thing or not :rotfl: I'm just wondering about the cost b/c I'd like to have about 9 pairs of jeans washed for us one day next week. Seems easier to have Disney wash them. So long as it's affordable of course. And if not, I'll know to bring a lot of quarters and some Tide! TIA :flower3:

SplashMtnCrew...I don't know the answer but I will be at Poly the same time as you...we arrive on Saturday after an overnight trip down on the train.

On the first page of this thread, there is a link to laundry services and dry cleaning! It's pretty pricey because your charged by the item. HTH

Have a WONDERFUL time and please let us know what you think when you return!!!

We'll be taking the train from NC for our May trip. You'll have to tell me about in when you get back.

Thanks for the info...I know it's pricey, and every time I read the laundry slip they leave in the room, I start laughing and say 'there's NO way I'd ever pay that kind of money for someone to wash our clothes' and now here I am considering it. Moral of the story, never say never! Thanks again :)

I just booked 7 nights in October staying in a GVCL room. :worship: I booked with a 40% code and ended up saving over $1700.00!!!!!:cool1:

Originally we wanted to arrive on a Saturday so we could do MK on that Sunday and leave on the following Sat, but that was not part of the code. My question is would you...

1. Pay the rack rate for the Poly GVCL with chances of keeping your room during your stay?

2. Cut off a day at the end to help compensate?

3. Would the arrival on Sunday and leaving on a Sunday be enough??

Thanks!!!

I stayed at the Poly these past 2 years each stay was great i want to try the Grand Floridian for a try but i cant decide help:confused3

Depends on the cost of the extra night, and what the vacation goals are. Will you be traveling to WDW again in the nearby future or is this your big vacation splurge? ARe you fllying or driving in? One idea would be to stay at the Hyatt at the Airport on your Sat. arrival, although you wouldn't get a park day. You could also try out another resort for just one night - like a value or mod to save some $$$ or one you've been eyeing for another trip, or just pony up and add the extra night. YOu could always consider a hotel near the "that other park - gasp -Universal Studios" and check out their Universal walk. We've never done it since all our time is spent at WDW,but someday would like to do that just to see what it is, and I would like to eat at Emeril's which is there. Anyhow, you have lots of choices, so have fun planning!!! BTW, there's never enough time in WDW! But Sunday throught Sunday could be great. We will only be there 5 nights, wish it was longer but we planned based on how long we could take the kids out and of course that budget "thing"! Enjoy your trip.

If you really can't decide, why not do a split stay?

We're doing a split stay between the Poly & the GF in 3 weeks!!!!

I haven't stayed at the Poly for 18 years (we've visited of course) but I'm so excited, and we've never tried the GF. I got the 40% code in the mail so we couldn't resist!:woohoo:

I'll be sure to report back! I'm so looking forward to 'Ohana on our arrival night! It's our tradition and I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!

Hi there, Singinglizzie also gave you some great suggestions. I just wanted to add that I am bit puzzled about why you want to go to the MK on Sunday? According to the Unofficial Guide this is the second busieset day at the MK! :scared1: So, from what I understand you are now staying exactly as long as you intended to, just that you don't have the Sunday in the MK? If this is really important to you, why not take the chance and add a night somewhere else for that firsst Saturday. My vote would always go for staying a bit longer! :goodvibes

I agree with the split stays. We did it three times BC, YC, GF and always end at the Poly. I'm glad we tried the other resorts but the Poly is still our favorite.
So now we just do the whole trip at the Poly.

We are doing our first split stay this July. Do you just call the front desk to move your luggage to the next resort? Is there a fee for this service? Does it take long?
Thanks.

Only once did they transfer the luggage. We rented a car the other times and brought the luggage ourselves.
When they did it, we received the luggage about 2 hours later. It didn't matter anyway because the room wasn't ready until about 2:00, so the luggage went into storage.

I always went to Poly in the morning to check-in then we went to the parks until our room was ready.

Hi,

Thanks for you input! MK is our favorite park and we want to spend as much time there as we can. I think that Monday is the most crowded at MK and that is my concern. Staying at another hotel wouldn't really work for us with three kids and parents because then we have to spend the time moving everyone, were as if we stay there we would be there. I just have to get over the sticker shock of rack rate for one night at the Poly GVCL to be able to stay the extra night. Ahhhhh!:scared1:

According to the Unofficial Guide Monday is less crowded than Sunday :goodvibes you can check this out here: http://www.touringplans.com/tp2/UG2_index.php?PageID=14

You just need to scroll down a bit until you get a table with the parks and the days of the week. Of course this will always also depend on EMH schedule etc. I would suggest to get a subscription for their website to really see which parks are best. Tour Guide Mike also has great info on which park on which day!! I have used both and they have been extremely helpful
