OMG, I just booked the Poly for March 4-11 with that deal! We were originally booked at the Swan with AAA discount, and the Poly ended up costing the SAME for the week (factoring in the $200 gift card, and the savings on being able to use DME over having to pay for transport). So, we switched. :thumbsup2

This will be our first time staying at the Poly. We're very excited. We chose it mainly because we LOVE 'Ohana and Kona Cafe, and find ourselves dining there very often, as well as at the MK and Epcot a lot, so the monorail and TTC access will be nice.

But, Yikes, we just got back:scared: Got sucked in by the discount...but can't take the kid's out of school again, so we have to go during Easter/spring break :scared: The only thing that might make me cancel is the Jetblue airfare - $2,000.00:sad1: :sad1: :sad1: :sad1: I am "blue"....POLY was $3,000.08 for the 7 day GV with the code.

Just thought I'd post a heads-up over here that there is a major code watch happening on the Codes board. The time frame is through June 27, 2009! :scared1: General consensus is it's a 7 days for the price of four deal again--that would be 4 days paid hotel/tickets, 3 days free. There's also a $200 gift card involved for stays earlier in the year (through March, I think). There may be more, but this is all that has been sussed out so far. . . :confused3

The release time is supposed to be today at 5:00 p.m. for booking. . .all of this, minus the specifics, is on Mousesavers.

If you are like me, I would never have been looking for a code or deal this early. The only drag is it's a package deal--creates certain problems for us AP people, but could be a deal for some us--looks better for the deluxes than anything else.

Just thought I'd pass it on since I haven't seen anything on our page for it! :woohoo:

Even with AP's this can be a great deal especially at a deluxe as you said. We just had to get 1 day base tickets and even with that cost we are saving almost $1000.00 over our room only ressie via AAA. Mousesavers says the discount is about 46%, not sure if any recent AP discounts have even come close to that, certainly worth checking out:confused3

Oh, by the way, I love your families Polynesian pout:goodvibes

Great, I read all up on the Contemporary and had to change to the Polynesian to get the 7 for 4 deal. Now I have to study up on a new resort! I guess "have to" is a strong phrase, but I want to know as much as I can before I go!
I booked a Garden view. Can anyone tell me what kind of room requests I should make? I know there are newer buildings that have balconies on all the floors, but are the rooms bigger or smaller, nicer or not as nice in the new buildings? If I prefer to be close to the Great Ceremonial House and in a new building do I have any options or are they all further away?

I agree with you, it can be a good deal for those with an AP. It appears though, the big savings are for those staying deluxe, which would be those of us on this thread! :thumbsup2

I am the only AP holder in the family right now, so the deal works for us. I purchased the PH and WP&F add-ons for the other three and will use mine to renew my AP while I am there. We already had an AAA rate, but we still saved around $870 with the January to June package. :cool1: If we had paid rack, we would have saved $1,890. These two savings are based on the free days for the room--we had no tickets on the original reservation. I'm not sure a room only AP rate will beat the discount. I am not a package fan, but the savings was too good to pass up for a "maybe" on the AP rate. :confused3 Time will tell I guess. . .

In any event, we're doing the  today!

Glad you enjoy the picture for 2008, it's one of our traditions. ;)

Thats a lot of money for one drink! I need to start saving now if I want a few of those in July :goodvibes

I believe, but don't quote me, that the drink is less expensive if you have it mixed without the hollowed out pineapple. Then again, it's not as much fun when it's served in a glass. :lmao:

:cool1: We're booked at the Polynesian for early May which is my favorite time of year to go! :sunny: :woohoo: :yay:

Congrats to everyone who just booked yesterday, and WELCOME :welcome: to those of you who are new Polynesian FAQ readers! :surfweb:

Anyone else going to be there between May 2nd and 9th?? :cool2:

ShyJade and Marc A - see you both at the Poly in 3 (I can't believe it) days!:dance3:

See ya real soon.... :cheer2: I can't wait!!!!

Those new codes are sure incredible - but it stings a bit knowing I'm paying full price but if I put our trip off by 2 months, we'd get an incredible deal. NOPE, NOT GONNA HAPPEN! I'm going to Disney in 48 hours and nobody can stop me!! At least I won't be online for the next week while everyone talks about what a great deal they got! ;)

Newer is relative as those buildings were built in the early 80s. But the rooms are equally nice across the resort and were refurbished a couple years ago. The rooms in the newer buildings are larger but the original rooms are spacious too.

Of the newer buildings, Tokelau is closest to the GCH. There's a map toward the beginning of the FAQ I think.

Tess and SeaSpray, congrats on the great deals!:cool1:

DebbyLof498, have a wonderful trip!:wizard:

LuvMySoldier07, I think the drinks are less expensive if you order them without alcohol.

It kinda' sorta' makes up for the past three years when the discounts have been nil! Kinda'. . .:lmao: I'm still mulling options and may end up rebooking with the one day base so I can purchase a PHs (no water park which we have now) and thereby have enough tickets for an 11 day stay. . .the fact it would save another couple hundred has nothing to do with it. :woohoo:

The last month or two I've been pricing out our Disney trip because I was hoping a higher category room would become available. No luck, but that's okay.

What really surprised me is today when I priced out the exact same trip I've priced dozens of times in past weeks, the package price is around $700 LESS than what it was, even a few days ago.

Do they drop the prices at the last minute in hopes of filling those remaining rooms? :confused3

I don't plan on ordering them without alcohol. just to clear up any confusion, that was someone else that said they weren't 21 yet and asked if they could order them without any alcohol.
anyway on the same topic of drinks, has any tried a long island iced tea at the poly? those are my favorite :thumbsup2

I just booked a 7 night trip to the Poly! I can't believe I finally get to go :lovestruc

We booked our first trip to the Poly back in August and got a pin code a few weeks ago via email and got an awesome deal. We were planning on not going back to the world until we had kids 'cause we have been a lot lately! However, my mom contacted us with an awesome idea and we couldn't refuse.

My mom is full time guardian of my sister with Downs Syndrome, she is in her late fourties, and is obsessed with Hawaii and Disney. We decided to go down for her birthday in February and stay at the Poly. Neither of them has ever been to WDW!!!!!!!! We are just beyond excited.

DH and I have also never stayed at a deluxe, only DVC properties. So, that adds more excitement.

We have booked Ohana dinner(my personal favourite, and I promise to try a Lapu Lapu this time), Whispering Canyon Cafe, Marrakesh, Ohana Breakfast, and the Luau... to make it extra Hawaiian.

We'll be even more excited once I get my 2009 edition of the Passporter that I have on preorder!!!!!!!! :wizard:

We have just booked 7 nights at the Poly this January! I am thrilled. We have a garden view room. We would like to be close to the CH (monorail) and a pool. Is there a longhouse request I should make. How far is the walk from the farthest longhouse. Have a little one walking so distance is important. Also does anyone have a guess at how much more it would be to upgrade room type with the new deal that it out (4/3 thing) Thinking maybe we should have done this but did not think about it at time of booking - I was just so excited when I heard Poly!!!

We just switched to the Poly (GV) for our February trip.
We'll be there February 10-17.

This 7/4 offer was much better than our AP rate at WL.

I then moved up our summer trip so that we could take advantage
of the 7/4 offer at least for the first week. So now we are at Poly LVC
June 20-27 (ds's birthday is June 23rd!) and BC June 27-July 6.
