Does anyone know if you can use disney giftcards and/or disney dollars at tambu lounge or the barefoot bar ( i think thats what its called lol) to buy drinks??? Ive been sending them to by fiance as gifts bc he is in Iraq, but I really don't know what else he would use them for being that we have deluxe dining and he's not that into buying souveniers. I hope we will be able to use them at the Poly bars to get some lapu lapu! :thumbsup2

At Tambu Lounge, you can definitely use the gift cards and Disney Dollars. At the Barefoot pool bar you can definitely use Disney Dollars for sure (they're the same as cash all over WDW).

Those Lapu Lapus pack a whallop---and are quite tasty too! :thumbsup2

Thats great news! This is my first time at disney since i turned 21 so im so excited I'll be able to try a lapu lapu! ( and all those other tasty drinks i've been hearing so much about!) :cool1:

We will be staying at the Poly Dec. 9-14 and then the AKL (our favorite :worship: ) Dec. 14-19--both club level. :woohoo:

Oh, that sounds like such a wonderful split! Both club levels are sooo special in different ways.

It's been hard for me to decided between the Poly and AKL but I chose the Poly for a few days. Next time will be AKL!

Two great choices. Happy planning for the Polynesian.:surfweb:

Be sure to try a Mai Tai. They are so much better at the Polynesian than elsewhere at WDW.

We went. Did not think it was THAT great. Wouldn't do it again. Just ok.

Sadly, no, I didn't think it was worth it. The first half was very 'hokey' (although the lady who plays Aunti Winnie is hysterical! :thumbsup2 ). The second half was MUCH better with the dances from the various islands. The food was forgettable--I really wish they had the same stuff available at the Luau that they have at Kona Cafe.

On the upside, we went during Christmas so we got to see the dancers in their Christmas luau outfits and the kids got to go on stage with 'Hawaiian Santa'. :thumbsup2

Alright, I think we'll skip it then. Thanks for the suggestion ;)

Thanks!

This might sound like a weird question but i'm not 21 yet but all these drinks sound really tasty. Do you think it's possible to get them without the alcohol? Like "virgin" fruity drinks? :rotfl:

Is it safe to leave clothes in the machines in the laundy room and take a stroll around the resort/go swimming????
3 days and counting, I know we're gonna forget something!!!

I'd be careful about leaving them in there for more than a brief stroll, if only due to the fact that there are not that many machines and others may need to use them. We waited nearly 1/2 hour with 3 machines full and shut off until a CM came in and removed the clothes (something I didn't feel right doing myself, but...) When the owner came back, she never realized how much she had inconvenienced those of us who weren't making laundry the highlight of our trip ;) So... I'm sure you're clothing will be fine, just consider the time remaining on the machine when you stroll :thumbsup2 And while laundry isn't the highlight, it sure felt nice to pack some clean clothes to return with instead of just dirty!

Thanks for the input. With little ones and the length of our stay I'm sure we'll need to do a few loads.:thumbsup2
Tick Tock Tick Tock

Also, when doing laundry, be very careful to double and triple check in the washers and dryers as you remove items. Probably ought to check the floor too come to think of it. MY DH lost a new pair of really nice jean shorts that we'd just gotten. Only figured it out when we got home and we had given the room a serious going over before leaving... when we couldn't seem to locate the shorts. (I assumed they were in the dirty laundry again... that's what 10 nights there gets you) Always better to look foolish and really check. Thank goodness it wasn't an irreplaceable item!

That's not a weird question! I'm almost twice your age (gak! did I just write that?!) and I don't drink alcohol, but I'd love to try some of the drinks, too. :teeth: Anyone know if you can get virgin-versions? ;)

:thumbsup2 ::yes::

Last trip I did Disney Dollars in the kids Easter baskets, which I plan to do again this year. Now I think DH and I needs some too - drinks on the beach while watching Wishes..aaahhhhh....
