Just got back yesterday from our first stay at the Poly and it will NOT be our last!!! We LOVED it!!!!

I can't write too much now - I'm buried under a pile of laundry but the highlights were an upgrade to a Magic Kingdom view when we arrived - nothing like watching the fireworks from our room!!!

We were in Tahiti - at first I didn't like that we were so far away from everything - but we were steps away from the TTC so we just went there for the monorail and even though we were far from the pool - no biggie since once we got there the kids didn't want to leave.

The kids loved the pool and slide!!! Me and DH loved the poolside bar!!!!

We did the luau on our first night - that was a bust. The kids were exhausted and the 5 year old even fell asleep so we ended up leaving early. Hated to lose those meal credits - but honestly - so many other great things happened that week we really didn't care!!!

I will update more later - I'm thinking of doing a trip report but still don't know how to post pictures!!!!

I'm so glad you had a great time! I too am looking forward to hearing more about your trip! Congrats on the upgrade! I love watching wishes from our room...it's magical!!

Glad to hear your trip was great. Hope to see you post more about it sometime...

So glad you loved your stay at the Polynesian! And how exciting about the MK view up-grade! Would love to one day have one of those and be able to watch Wishes from our room and see that castle everytime I was in the room. We return in exactly 6 weeks from today and cannot wait! :) Walt Disney World and the Polynesian Resort... my 2 most favorite places to be! :)

Glad to hear you had a good time (aside from the luau) and congrats on the MK upgrade! :thumbsup2

We did the Luau in Dec 2006 and aside from getting to see 'Hawaiian Santa', the best part for us was the second part with all the dances. Our seats were great (we were right up front) but the food was pretty forgettable.

Frefam5, I am glad you had a great trip. I can't wait to hear about it. I am thinking of staying there in Dec. 09 and my kids are about the same ages as yours. It will be interesting to hear how they enjoyed it.

well, we're back

favorite thing: macadamia nut/pineapple pancakes @ Kona cafe

originally asgn'd Rapa Nui 1119 (not sure about exact rm #) - 1st flr, directly adjacent to exterior door! I was NOT happy (previous post)
next day re-asgn'd to Tokelau 3919 - can post balcony pics if you'd like

this was a repeat MNSSHP - spent most of the time riding the rides to avoid lines the rest of the trip
& I LOVE going to Haunted Mansion @ night - it's sooo cool :goodvibes
got the Disney photopass w/ the ghost carriage driver! :thumbsup2

it was crowded - lots of Columbus day visitors

if you have any questions just ask...

btw - there was no vent/fan in the bathroom in either of the Rapa Nui or Tokelau rooms were were in - FYI

On average is it better to walk to TTC to grab a bus to HS and AK or to wait at the Poly itself???
And also its faster to walk to the TTC to grab the monorail to epcot right?
Thanks

imho - wait @ the poly
we took the walk to TTC & then had to wait (seemed like 4ever after the walk) for a bus to HS

the waits @ poly for a bus to AK & another day to downtown disney wasnt bad @ all

in the time it took us to walk to TTC there was probably a bus that had come to the poly & gone heading to HS

Aren't those just the BEST? :cloud9: Can't wait to have them again with some Kona coffee when I'm there in December.

And definitely post those balcony pics. I'd love to see them! :thumbsup2

Our next trip to the Poly will be in June. Has anyone stayed there during June? How are the crowds at the pool and at the restaurants? We loved going in Sept. and I'm thinking June will have a different vibe.

How did you like Tokelau? That is one of my requests for next month. I requested either Rapa Nui , Tokelau or Tahiti. We want to be closer to TTC. We booked Garden view. What did you have?

We usually visit in June, but will be headed down in May this year. What week are you planning. Our trips in June have been the end of second week through third, as a rule. The crowds are large, but manageable and the quiet pool can get crowded later in the day (2:00-3:00 p.m.). The volcano pool is, as you would expect, pretty packed.

We have noticed that when we arrive, the crowds have not yet hit. As our vacation wears on (into the third week of June), the crowds begin to increase with each new day.

If you need anything else, just ask! :thumbsup2

Hello,

I just have a quick question if possible. I was wondering if the pancakes in the Big Kahuna are the Macadamia Nut Pineapple Pancakes?

I believe they are. :thumbsup2 I remember my DGsis ordering the Big Kahuna because she wanted the macadamia-pineapple pancakes plus the french toast.

I so can't wait to have these pancakes again in December! :cloud9:

We'll be there June 8-13 since our son is coming with us and that's when he can get away...so I guess we can plan on crowds toward the end of the week:eek: Thanks for the info Tess:)
