Do you have any thoughts on a longhouse with the wheelchair? I was looking at the map, and it seems like any would be fine.

I agree any of them would be fine. Most accessible rooms are located in Rapa Nui which is a wonderful building. As SeaSpray said, if you need an accessible room, be sure to talk to Disney Reservation Center about it. Normally, you will be asked about your DDs needs and then put on hold while a room that fits the needs is reserved. Special Needs or Special Requests does that but usually these days, you won't even talk to them....the DRC CM is the go between.

Anyway, Rapa Nui is the closest building to the TTC and has a small parking lot right in front of it which is so convenient if you will have a car. The rooms in that building along with Tahiti and Tokelau are even larger than the original rooms. But you can't go wrong IMO.

Did I see somewhere in this thread a hair wrapping station? Is that something that they offer all the time? My DD would love that! Anyone know what it costs?

It's at the volcano pool tucked away near the bar. It seems to me that it is open year round but i'm not sure and can't help with price. Someone else will have details I'm sure.

February will be my first time at Polynesian, but far from my first time at WDW. I have a Poly bus question for y'all.

I have a MK view room and am requesting a room in Tahiti. IF I get that request, I know I'll be relatively close to the TTC. So my question is, when we want to go by bus to Animal Kingdom and Disney's Hollywood Studios, will we be better off getting a bus at Poly itself or walking to the TTC and catching an AK or DHS bus there?

The only time I caught an AK bus at the TTC (we were coming from MK), it seemed like a pretty long wait. Do you think the park buses at TTC run less often than at the resorts?

I think the buses from the TTC run on a more regular schedule. The last I knew it was every 20 minutes. Whether the bus at the Polynesian will come sooner..... I think that's just a guess. I think those are on demand, right? I know we usually drive to DHS and DAK.

But returning to the Polynesian from DAK or DHS is another story. Here's one of the many advantages the Polynesian enjoys. You just take whichever comes first.... TTC/MK or Polynesian (and usually the CR too). We do this more often as sometimes we split up after lunch.

I totally agree with all of this advice--way to go BCV! Good information.

Ah, thanks Tess.

Hoping we hear from the DISser who are there right now if they break away from the fun!:surfweb:

I just had to post to say I got a GREAT surprise from dh this afternoon ... he upgraded our garden room for our Christmas trip to a lagoon view concierge room!!!!!!! :cool1: I'm even more excited than I was before! :santa:

We also lost our minds and ordered the Neverland Wishing Tree from Disney Florist. We figured it was a perfect theme for a Poly Christmas.

I can hardly wait for Dec. 21 to get here!!

Anyway, I just wanted to share my excitement with people who'd understand! :goodvibes

I just ordered a cake to be delivered to our room to thank my parents. Has anyone ordered a cake from private dining delivered to your room? I ordered the 8" vanilla.

We usually stay garden view, but did have 2 nights LVC in '06 for our anniversary, so this longer stay will be so nice! My niece and nephew are going to be with us for a while, and I can hardly wait to share it with them (and our son, too, of course!). :thumbsup2

Well I am completely excited for you!! What a terrific DH you have!! Is there a link somewhere to a picture of the Neverland Christmas tree? I've heard about it...love to see it.

Have a wonderful Christmas!:dance3:

Does anyone know if the Poly bus to Typhoon Lagoon stops at DTD as well?

And does the bus from the TTC?

Thanks!

Do you need an accessible room? If so, then you'll need to call Disney and ask to speak to someone in the (yikes, can't remember the name of the department! :confused3 LOL)... anyway, there's a special guest assistance department that can help you with any special room requests.

If you don't need an accessible room, then maybe just request a ground floor room, because that would save you from having to go up and down the elevator each time you leave and come back to your room.
The phone number is listed in the disABILITIES FAQs thread, in post #7 of that thread. There are also pictures that show the different types of accessible rooms.

Whew! I just made it through all 81 pages. Count me in with the group that will be there early May. We'll be there May 2-9th. We were booked at WL but our room wasn't available under the 7/4 deal so we had to switch to a LVCL room at the Poly. Don't you just hate it when that happens? ;) I don't know how we're going to wait til May. Quick question- how big are the day beds?

I haven't been there yet, but everyone on here says they are about the size of a twin bed. We'll be there May 1 - 10th  :cool1:

A little off topic but does anyone know if a 40% off email code can be used in conjunction with the current promotion?

No. DIsney doesn't let you stack discounts. If they are already giving you 3 days for free when you buy 4, they won't also discount those 4 days by 40%.

They are indeed about the size of a twin bed. I'd say more like an extra long (XL) twin bed. It is already made up with sheets and a blanket. :thumbsup2

Any room at the Poly is great but, as I discovered this summer, LVCL is INCREDIBLE!! Your husband ROCKS and your post actually has me considering Christmas at Disney this year :rolleyes1 (even though I know my husband and daughter will never go for it!)
CONGRATULATIONS :wizard:

I have asked this on another thread, but I figured I should ask the Poly pros. We changed our trip to get the 4/3, so now my DD will only be 22 months when we go. She is too long for a pack n play now. I guess my question is should I just put her in the sofa/bed or buy one of those toddler air mattress things? Any suggestions would be appreciated. :confused3

Tarheel girl- I'd like to add that my DD- 14 and 5'5" was very comfortable on the daybed. She slept like a log, and every day Mouse Keeping made up the day bed again for her. Very convenient. Have fun!
